There’s some things I don’t get about the song tho. Yes I know it’s just a song, but it completely misrepresents what bastion is all about. When bastion is triggered in the song, he is blurting out insults left and right, but bastion is only triggered when he or a close friend feels threatened. If bastion could talk, I don’t think he’d just be blurting out insults. Also, how he sings about wanting to kill everybody, that’s not true about his character development whatsoever. In The Last Bastion short, you can clearly see he chooses his friendship over his mission and returns back to nature. I like the song, but also don’t like it at the same time.
I saw an explanation on another reaction video that I think would help explain at least a few of these things. Yes, bastion did go back to the forest at the end of the Last Bastion short, but he also got to where he was in the beginning of the short because of the Omnic crisis. Just in case you don't know what the omnic crisis is, it's when all the bastion bots along with a few other types of omnics gained sentience and tried to take over the world. I think his sentience and memories of those war have molded this negative outlook towards humans and explains his insults towards them. And you are right, when bastion is triggered it's because his last remaining bits of combat coding taking over.But the last time he was in combat he was fighting humans in a battle for the world, so that may be a bad memory or something. That's just what I think though, and sorry if this seems long winded or argumentative, but I never really see a comment that makes me feel like responding so when I do I try to be s polite as possible and get the point I am explaining across the best way I can. Anyway, hope you have a great week
Lemme get uhhh I totally get that, and yes I know about the Omnic crises, yes I do know about his coding and such, but in the end of the song the lyrics states “I’ll kill all of you bastards cause that’s all I have left.” Which completely misrepresents his character, because in the short, he chose the life of living in peace and not going forward with his “task”, but I do see what you’re getting at.
Lemme get uhhh Also, forgot to mention, he has no ill feelings towards humans anymore, because in some interactions in the game, torbjorn helped bastion with new armor and such.
@That Guy The song's just a joke. They're not trying to say that Bastion's actually like that, but it's funny to go over the top.
@@itspumpkin886 Yeah, but I think that the healing of his mistrust and hatred of humans is only changed after this short ends, seeing as it starts with him awakening from his however long slumber. It makes sense if you think about it, because the last thing that this bastion remembers is hating humans, so it's most likely the first thing he's going to go full force into
