The quiet town centre is easy to walk around and is best known for its flowers and its cathedral with the 50 metre high bell tower. These were built in the 1950s to replace the former cathedral destroyed along with much of the city during World War II.
A short walk uphill brings you to the Romsdal museum, part open air museum and part indoor exhibition. Inside this striking building you’ll find old fishing boats, the local bunad, and plenty of tales from the history of Molde and the Romsdal region.
These days, the city is arguably best known for its football club. It’s hard to miss the blue banners, shirts and scarves when a game is on. Games take place at Aker Stadion on the waterfront.

The Bunad the Museum sells is not the local Bunad. The local Bunad is the Bolsøybunaden.
