Never underestimate the fierce love of a mother and a father and the courage to save their babies. Those parents would have gladly gone in there with their bare hands to stop the shooter and not wait for backup. Even if it meant losing their own lives. Yet officers waited an hour to stop the shooter and they were armed. Thank you, to the BP Agent that went in courageously without any backup and put his own life in danger to stop the shooter. Who knows how much longer the shooter w ould have continued shooting and killed more kids and more teachers while the other officers were waiting for their "backup!" 1 hour is unacceptable! Those officers dedicated their lives & made an oath to protect the public, they are trained for this yet they stood outside and let it happen. It's understandable if they were scared to go in with someone that had a bigger gun, the public is not criticizing that. It's the fact these officers chose and dedicated themselves to be on the front line and protect the public, yet they stood back and fought the parents instead of the shooter for an hour while 19 innocent children and two brave teachers were being slaughterd inside!

I can't think of a worse torture for these people. Having them stand outside and listen to gunshots go off in their children's school for an hour. These people are going to suffer from serve trauma.

The kids where more brave than the cops! On the news not to long ago A kindergarter pushed A toddler out of the road for she would (the kindergartner) get hit by the car! And these adults that choose to stay outside to fight with the adults is utterly disgusting! And don't think twice about the kids or even that shooter! And its sad because these kids and adults wait an hour for a adult to get it together, geeze people I swear, like if I where an adult in a situation like that I don't care if I would go in alone I wouldn't think twice, and I know these parents wanted to do that the parents wanted to do the job for the police, utterly ridiculous and disgusting and disappointing of the cops, im sorry if you loss someone if it was bc a cop wouldn't do their job or even if you loss someone anyway god bless stay safe❤

I will never understand how and why these school shootings happen. I am from outside the US, more precisely from Europe and I rarely hear about things like this happening not just in Europe, but worldwide. I mean, when I was in school we indeed had bulling going on, some kids were fighting. But never happened that someone brought a weapon to school even though 30 years ago we were at war and guns were everywhere. Maybe I don't understand because I'm looking from the outside, but it really baffles me that every now and then you hear about these things coming from the US. If I was living in the US, idk what I would do with my child, should you send him to school or not. We don't even have security in schools and these things don't happen (thankfully).

It takes incredible training on an unbelievable level to face off against an armed adversary who has the capacity and probably the will to kill you. These situations expose very quickly the human capacity to deal with the highest level of fear, controlling that fear, being effective. Being successful in achieving the objective takes years of training. So the US either has to face off against their fascination with guns and phase the whole industry out, or, have very rapid reaction squads to deliver a successful result, neutralising the adversary/gunman. I'm British, we have problems with gun violence in the UK, but the US is off the scale. I have a small son and love him dearly, I simply cannot imagine what these parents and children are going through. It's heartbreaking.
