- Hello friends! In today's video, I wanted to show you how to make a eurohem on jeans (again). I had made another video but the lighting and sound were off and I wasn't too proud of it. I really hope you found my instructions easy to follow and that this helps you make a perfect hem while keeping the original hem! If you find this video useful, please don't forget to give this video a like, comment, share and subscribe! Your support means the world to me!

From Maria my mother taught me to embroider when I was 7. I am now 71, I love to sew. Watching you sew is a joy. Sewing takes patience. And love of fabric and all things that make up the Art of sewing. This shows in your excellent work. Carry on.☺️
Thanks so much 🥰 I certainly love the art of sewing!
Hemming this way seems better to me. There was a lot of bulk when I finished. I'll have to try and undo them and do it this way. Thank you for such GOOD CLEAR video.
Thanks so much for watching 🥰
I just wanted to say that you are the only woman I enjoy watching and listening to when it comes to sewing. I could listen to you all day. Thank you for guiding me as I take up this new hobby/trade.
Thanks 😊
Wish I could give a thumbs up for every time I rewatch this video 😉

Thanks so much 🥰 I appreciate your comment 💕
I use this technique for jean hems, they look so much better with the original faiding hem, its almost undetectable. Your video is great for breaking down the steps needed. Thankyou you are amazing.
Thanks so much 🥰
I just finished shortening 6 pair of jeans for a customer! I wasn’t thrilled with the result so I thought of you and I watched this video and loved your technique! I didn’t cut the excess off I turned it inside and I used the iron on hem tape. Not sure why but some places did not stick! Perhaps I didn’t keep the iron it long enough! I love all your videos!
Thank-you. Always learn something from you!
Thanks for watching 🥰
Beautifully done!

Thank you for this very well timed video. My nephew gave me his pants to shorten the hem the day this video came out. I tried your method and it worked absolutely beautifully. It was not a lot of effort at all.

Fantastic clever and neat work
Thank you very much! 🥰
The euro hem, is still complicated in my brain, even tho you’ve shown clear demonstration. I prefer the American version, saving the original hem.
This is amazing, it was actually how I found you and I am so glad I. My son insisted I hem his pants this way he had some hemmed when he was in another country and he said it could be done LOL I have learned so much from you since then Love your updated video Thank you for everything you do

Thanks so much! Happy new year! 🥳
You are so talented...Did you go to design school or learn sewing on your own. When you speak you sound just like one of my aunts....How funny.... We are Portuguese and wondered if you are.. My mom, who is no longer living, was a fantastic seamstress as you are. Thank you.
Hi! Thanks so much 🥰 I'm Spanish speaking. I guess this is why it sounds similar. Cheers 😊
whenever I do the Euro Hem I finish it completely in a blue that blends in with the jeans, then I topstitch it with the gold thread after. mostly I use the American hem or just the plain jeans hem. I like your trick of securing the seams first so they don't move.
Making the top stitch first with the blue thread is such a great idea. It will make it easier to make the final top stitch. Thanks for sharing 😊
My teacher always called euro/american/original the same thing... "Eurohem" and so do I. Personally I prefer what you call "American Hem" but I leave the choice up to my customer so I have an example of both at the front counter to show what each look like.
I’ve been sewing for 40+ years always hem jeans this way.
Yesssssss!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
❤
If you cut on the length the pants are supposed to be then sew using a 3/8 seam line, when the hem part is added back on it adds an additional 1/2 inch or more depending on the width of the original hem. There could be a difference of the finished hem length making it longer than the desired finished hem. This is confusing to me.
The cut hem is kind of acting like bias binding- it’s wrapping around the edge, not adding length (say you stitch 1/2 away from edge, the hem folds over to cover that 1/2 “ rather than extending past it so the length stays the same
What kind of presset foot you are using ? New viewers from Scotland . 🏴Thank you For your reply 🫶
Hello! Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦 I used the standard presser foot. Cheers 😊
Cảm ơn cách lên lai gấu rất đẹp
🥰🥰🥰
Which is a more accurate measurement? Using a persons inseam measurement for altering pants or the outseam?
That’s a good question. I can tell you that with Today’s fashion, measuring got very tricky. If everyone wore the pants on the same way with the crotch on the right place, the inseam measurement would be the best one. But all pants sit differently. At my store we measure one by one on the customer. I hope this helps.
Am I missing something? Why not just cut the jeans leaving room for them and then turn fabric under twice for a New hem? What's the advantage of using old hem?
Video was very well done. Thank you!
Hi Carolyn! I can see your point perfectly, however, it has become very fashionable to keep the discolorations of the original hem. I think the following video might illustrate better the point. It does have a nice history of the jeans at the beginning but your question is answered in full after, this. So you can skip the beginning.

Please, let me know what do you think after watching the video.

😊
eurohem definitely looks better than regular or the american hem.
You did a great job...but the whole point of a euro hem is not to remove the original factory stitching of the hem
That would be the American Hem. This is an interesting video that tackles this topic.

Are you accepting jeans to be tailored? I’m happy to pay for shipping 😂❤

What did the button do?
I think it is explained in this video: czcams.com/video/TUrE8244Cxo/video.html
Waist down size step by step video please
Always euro hem.
🥰🥰🥰
This is a beautiful technique, but I prefer to just hem. If you gain a little weight, the pants get shorter, so I can't lower the hem again.
Yes. I can see your point. Anyways, after a few washes, the regular hem will start to discolored and look very similar. Cheers!
My tailor cut the hem and attached it again like never cut.. How did he did it i don't know 😂😂
It's like magic! 🤗
If your denim is spandex, it will lose the elasticity in the hem area and become unwearable after few washes
