  • Tuareg rebels in northern Mali say they have seized control of two military bases, in the town of Lere, near the border with Mauritania.
Violence has escalated since UN peacekeeping troops began withdrawing from the north.
The pull-out was demanded by Mali's junta.
Coup leaders say they are considering mobilising reservists, and have called off independence day celebrations next week.

Militant groups are having a field day in Burkina Faso and Mali since the overthrowing of elected governments and withdrawal of international troops and aid. But Im sure the coup leaders (dictators) currently in power have it "all under control" and soon the Sahel region will "prosper."

@Madi Fof I asked if the other Juntas were going to help out. How is that saying this is a game? They don’t want help from others. This is when you find out if people are really supporting you or if it is just rhetoric.

Not surprised, I wrote at the onset when they wanted France to leave (and rightfully so); that Mali will fail with or without France. This is essentially 'Africa's Afghanistan' I just pity the children born into that horrible country.

Western countries should let the African fight this themselves and should not put the lives of their citizens at risk . Even if Mali 🇲🇱 capital is taken by rebels, the West should not intervene. Let them seek help from the Vagner group.

If the capital was taken by the rebels, what is there left of the country, no less the government? There is none. Wagner was in Mali since 2021 and somehow they can't deal with the rebels since then?

The Tuaregs are supposed to focus on Morocco,Tunisia and Libya. France is supplying arms to them like they have done before but will be neutralized. Take it to the bank. France and America needs to leave Afrika.
