Jeremy, as a fleet manager myself I am amazed every day how many people I am in contact with that have no skills to do what you just showed us. The way you displayed and explained so much information in a simple, common sense manner was refreshing beyond words. The step by step diagnosis and methods with the simple test equipment will help anyone who watches this. I am now a fan of you. If you ever want to come to California I would hire you in a New York Minute to run my shop!
My daughter's Trailmaster 150 XRX has been sitting a while. I decided to get it going again, added a Uni filter and swapped out the old carb with a re-jetted newer one, new plug, new battery...
Wasted a whole day trying to get it to start. Finally decided to switch back to old carb, THEN I realized I had the bowl drain open the whole time. DOH!!!😜
This is the same thing mine is doing. I ordered a carb on amazon for $28 bucks glade I know a little about working on Engines so I wouldn’t run in to paying that much to get mine going. People bring me their Go-carts to work on and I just charge for parts an take anything extra that the owner wants to pay me. I am not a mechanic so I don’t charge the mechanic price. Now I can’t wait to get my new carburetor but then I’m gonna need all 4 tires but other then that I’m ready to cruise around on mine.
I just bought the exact same carburetor for mine only cost me $25
video helped me on my 150 carter. I too replace carb and it had the hose for draining carb and a valve to be mounted WHERE. I may use the old carb bottom cover; it had the valve as part of the carb with a hose barb
Thanks for the video. I've put both the electric kit, and the carb kit into mine and it runs like it was new. $200, for a starter motor, coil plug, stator, starter relay, carburetor (with choke), air filter, fuel filter, spark plug, tank filter, and manifold. That's a lot of parts for the price! I was hoping you'd disassemble the carb and you did. Just rebuilt the old carb and I knew I was missing a piece. Wanted to know what I was looking for, and found my float needle and spring!
I just turned the carb over and removed the cover and cleaned the jets and reinstalled it. I used a tie wrap to attach it too the rail so it stayed upright. Did not have to remove all the attachments.
Rather this helps me or not with my particular situation. By the time you began removing the filter box I knew somewhere down the line I will need this video. Thank you Sir.
Check wires to ign coil make shure they are tight or replace the power pack
CHECK TOP END.....DO COMPRESSION AND LEAKDOWN TEST AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU FIND

I changed the shifter and now i seen to not be able to get it back on seems like i dont have enough slack to get in back in place to screw it down, how can i loosen wire to get enough slack to fot right?
What if it starts and revs up but no forward or reverse?
Mine has a variation on exceleration . what might be causing that?

I’m having trouble with my hammerhead twister. Worked fine til a week ago. Will try to crank but it won’t turn over. Replaced the carb but no success. I’m thinking wiring maybe c.d.I. I live in Dallas if you’d be interested in servicing it

I have one just like this I want to know is can you put any type of motor on it or dose it have to have the 150
so I put a new carb on and stuff it started up ran but when I push on the gas it like won’t engage in gear and go foward you kinda have to feather it but I needed someone to push me to get it shifted and when ur driving it like won’t shift to go faster and ideas why man please

Good diagnosis vid! I have an issue with my hammer head hope you can help. My cranks up good and runs but when I get into higher speeds it starts to bog down and splatter as if it's not getting enough gas. What do you suggest it could be? Thanks

My buggy starts, idles and will accelerate to a slow pace but will blubba and choke when i try to give it full gas. I have replaced the carby, coil and lead,cdi spark plug. What could be causing this?

Hi I have the Carter brothers version of the kart you are working on my problem is after I start it, it will not engage in forward or reverse the clutch opens and closes when I hit the gas just won't move the tires.

i read the commits and i have the same,, no spark i was driving at night with the lights on and it died, hasnt started since.. not sure what to realy check but i have done the basics... but it sounds stupid but i dont know what the coil looks like or where at on the power pack.. like i said i know its stupid but im at a lost on what to do. i know its a elect problem...
Good video. I have a helix 150, very similar to what you just showed. I am wondering if you could please help me. Today I replaced the carb, and it now runs good. Heres the problem. the go kart will not shift from any gear (R or D) with the engine running. When I shut the engine off, it will shift. With the rear end jacked up and running, it also will shift. Nothing happens when the buggy is on the ground. Any ideas ? If there is an answer, it seems as you would know.
I've got a crossfire 150. Sat for a while. New fuel lines and filters. Cleaned old carb but it would only idle. Brand new carb put on yesterday and now it wont even start. Good spark, good fuel good air. It just will not fire. Any thoughts?
Great video! Now Do you have anything on how to change the belt!! Ours starts real good and it was working perfect but couple of weeks ago it just stop running, we have been told that there is a belt some where in the engine that if breaks it won't take any gear??? please help!!

I have the same kart my drive belt broke off. When I took off the cover to to change it. I noticed their are two half gears for reverse with a spring. The spring fell off. Can you be so kind as to tell me how to put it back on. I have been looking everywhere for instructions. My eight year old would love to get this back on the road.

Hows it going i have a carter bros 150 cc basicly the same thing, i checked for spark, it sparks, sprayed gas directly into carb engine just turnes over no signes of it wanting to start it was runing just fine a few days ago until i layed it on its side while riding lol after that it was having trouble ideling and now it wont start, do you think it has any thing to do with the valve adjustment. You could spray brake fluid in The brakes or your brakes could be rusted up and old
Hey I have the same problem as Austin H. Further down in comments. My 150cc hammerhead doesn't have good acceleration at all in forward and in reverse it flies. Do you know possible causes/solutions for this?

I have a Baja Dune 150 after buying and adding a few parts it starts on a dime and idles perfect , once I hit the gas it acts like the brakes on , it creeps forward like 6 inches or a foot and dies if I push the gas all the way down . My belt was super tight so I took Variator off and someone had forced it on tooth on tooth and wasn't all the way on and the rollers weren't seated were wedged in sideways , ordered new complete variator , question is , would that be whats keeping it from going once rpm and gas is pressed

Jeremy, I am having an unusual problem. There is a, I guess, overflow hose coming off of the head of the engine. The problem is... gas is shooting out of it when the engine is running. I have a background in small engines but these chinese 150cc engines are not like the Briggs I am used to. I even disconnected the gas line but it still shoots gas out??? Should I go into the gas business cause this thing is making it's own gas?? Can you help me by telling me what makes gas overflow from the line connected to the head?

Hey man, i see that you are still commenting so i have a question, what is wrong with my hammerhead twister 150 cc gy6 if it bogs down after any more than 25 - 50% throttle, I've been told it was a jet that needs to be bored out or just to get a new one, but it has new plugs, new head, new carb, new intake manifold, new battery, and a new plug wire. It was sitting at a relatives house in texas sort of exposed for about 2 - 4 years and it needs some work. Its drivable but not enjoyable, so was wondering if you knew how to fix it, havent checked vacuum, jet, cdi, electronic choke or wiring, it has a fuse loose, but not blown that gets bad connection sometimes, so just wanting some help, thanks in return

I have a hammerhead 150cc and it starts and idles but when I give it gas it moves slowly and then it picks up speed and about 40mph about 20 to 30 mph I let go and floor it and it responds but once in idle it has no power until it picks up speed gradually. I replaced the clutch, carburator, fuel filter, clutch, belt, petcock. Any tips or ideas? it has vibration and checked the brakes and reverse and nada. please help!!
Hello sir, I am hoping you read this. I too have a 150cc dunebuggy and have currently run into the problem that when I put it in forward or reverse it completely stalls. It idles just fine but it seems like when I put it into drive that it wants to take off and completely dies. Any ideas on what to check first. I've never had this problem before. Also the linkage came off and I had to put it back on. But I don't think this would cause a problem.

my hammerhead cranks and starts with the key in the start position but engine stops as soon as the key is released .

Hey I have a go kart similar and I’ve been working on it but I cleaned the carburetor and changed the oil and put new gear oil in it but when I went to drive it it only went a few feet then lost it’s drive and just kept happening. Do you know what could be its problem? It’s a kandi 150cc.

my vacume line isint plugged to anything. And and I don't see where it goes
plugs into a little nozzel on the front of the air filter assembly next to the air connector to the carby (nozzel is facing the steeringwheel)
Hi i'm using my gf's profile btw. My team and i are building a tank using almost the same go kart. the problem we are having is bleeding the brakes, we've tried a bunch of different ways and can't figure out how the hell to bleed the damn things. they are not like regular vehicle disc brakes. can you do a how to on those, if you could that would be fantastic! thank you!
My hammer head won't even crank over only clicks at the relay. I replaced the CDI, starter relay, and coil and still clicks???? please help?
Mine used to do this, I had to replace both the fuses... then it finally started working again.. also could be a bad ground
Dallin Shumway What fuses? I know of one.
Michael Dunn mines a 250 ss... and both fuses are found right next to the cdi.. I actually ended upgrading the wiring because I kept blowing a fuse.. think it costed $6....
Michael Dunn also you will need to double check your starter.. mine went out last year and the machine would click at the relay as well...

Hi I was watching your video and you seem to know a lot about go karts I was wondering could you help me out i have a coolester 250cc it's starting and running perfect but when you open out the revs it pumps the oil into the rocker cover and out the air filter and emptys the sump I cant find the problem did you ever come across this problem before ,thanks

I have the same go kart, it was running good last season, I put it in storage and got it out last week and now it won’t crank over. The lights, nothing comes on and the battery has full charge. I replaced the starter and checked the starter solenoid and also replaced the fuse. Nothing comes on. Can someone help.

Check the coil for the sparkplug
