ABOUT MAKING IT
In this six-episode competition, eight of the most talented makers from across the country will take on a variety of handmade projects with the hopes of impressing Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman and our expert judges. Each episode of the competition will consist of two projects that allow the makers to demonstrate their specialized talent, while sharing skilled insights and touching personal stories. First, the "faster-craft" round will be a timed challenge that will test their ability to not only work quickly but imaginatively as well. Next, the makers will move to the "master craft collection," a one-of-a-kind themed challenge in which the competitors will need to use their expertise and get inventive in order to assemble a winning craft that fits the theme of that week.

My wife and I just finished the last episode, and I think the show met a goal of inspiring folks that aren’t makers to start making. I know my wife has ideas now of things she’d like to do. The contestant makers give the show the “who” and the “why” of their making. That inspires folks for sure.
But the next thing is the “how” - this is the gold that Jimmy brings to the show, and I hope he comes back for a season 2. I hope we see even more of him in the show itself, along with videos like these that are just great nuggets of information that he passes along because of his many years of experience. Those moments in the show where he’s consulting with the makers, I’d love to see those moments elaborated on some more.
If NBC brings him back, I’d be pretty certain ratings will be even better for season 2, especially if we see more of him passing along that knowledge. - Jim Ashley

Hey NBC, I only watch television that features Jimmy Diresta.
Love the compressed air tip to freeze set the hot glue. I teach kids in a maker camp every year and will have some handy to help speed things up and reduce the inevitable burns. Thanks Jimmy. Why didn't they have some of thee during the show?

I’ve been a Diresta fan for YEARS and I was so excited about the show when I heard about it on his Making It podcast! I wish we could have seen more of him discussing specific techniques with the makers. MORE JIMMY PLEASE!!!

I could maybe, maybe get interested in broadcast TV again if it actually showed real content like this. I spend 99% of my viewing time watching non-BS content like Jimmy Diresta and others on on CZcams instead, NBC.
Jimmy is such an amazing source of tips. Nothing like a pro to give you tips. Also, one of the best story tellers I know.

While it was fun to play "spot Jimmy in the background" on season 1, it would be much more satisfying to have his charm, charisma, talent, skills and wit featured onscreen in season 2!!! The whole family loves this show, and the whole family loves Jimmy!!!

He just watches lots of youtube videos and puts those ideas in his show. Nothing new to me. Like you don't need the canned air. That stuff is $9 a can. Costly. Just use regular compressed air to cool the hot glue faster.

as someone whos been "making" for decades, i enjoy watching these kinds of videos just for a different perspective, but today, i actually learned something. ive been using entirely too much spray glue, apparently. gonna try the "mist" for the next project and see if it works better.
Awesome glad to see Making it giving DiResta some screen time. I was stoked to see his name on the credits, but severely disappointed at a lack of him being in the show. Each one of these tips should been in the actual episodes

I've been watching #jimmydiresta for years and I have learned countless tips, tricks, and methods for making damn near anything I want. Most importantly is that Jimmy is hilarious, if you listen to his podcast you know what I mean. Honestly if NBC doesn't give him a more prominent role in season 2, I would hope he says no and does something even better because he is way too talented and entertaining to be featured for such little time.
You know what Making It was missing? More Jimmy!
