డబ్బుకు కక్కుర్తి పడే లుబ్దావధాన్లు, ప్రతి దానికి మండిపడే అగ్ని హోత్రావదాన్లు ,గిరీశాన్ని నమ్మి ఉచితంగా తిండి పెట్టే పూటకూళ్ళమ్మ,తండ్రి చివాట్లు పడలేక రెండోసారి పరీక్ష తప్పాడని తెలిస్తే తండ్రి చంపేస్తాడని గిరీశాన్ని ఆశ్రయించిన శిష్యుడు వెంకటేశం ,అసిరిగాడు , కానిస్టేబులు ,ఇలా ఎన్నో పాత్రలు ..ప్రతి ఒక్కటి వైవిధ్యం ..బోలెడంత వినోదం ..
వందేళ్ళ నాటకమైనా ,దాన్ని భద్రంగా పెట్టి ,శ్రావ్యమైన గొంతులతో ,అద్భుతమైన కళాకారులతో రూపుదిద్ది ..మనోహరంగా మలచి ఆకాశవాణి మీకందిస్తున్న మధుర జ్ఞాపకం ..”కన్యాశుల్కం”

Kanyasulkam is a Telugu play written by Gurajada Apparao in 1892. It is one of the earliest modern works in an Indian language, and it is the first Telugu play to deal with social issues.Gurajada wrote this play to raise awareness about what he felt was a scandalous state of affairs in society.

This is not the play that was broadcast in AIR Vijayawada where Girisam was played by Shri K Venkateswara Rao. In this, it appears to be Sri Ramana Murthy. At the beginning of the Play, the names of the actors were readout. In fact, you have read out Seetaratnamma who played the wife of Agnihotravadhanulu. But in this play, it is somebody else. It will be good if you can upload the original Kanya Sulkam broadcast by AIR Vijayawada. That was the real pearl. When you could upload Varavikrayam original Play (CD also available), what is the problem for you to upload the original Kanyasulkam?

The original version is in AIR Hyderabad showroom for Audio CD/DVD. I am having that drama...It is excellent compared to this dud artistes.

Definitely this audio file is not from the the original play broadcasted from AIR Vijayawada in 1960s. It was originally produced by Banda Kanakalingeswara Rao. For some unknown reason, it seems to have been reproduced. Some players were original ones, while the others are not. The original speed and diction maintained in the original are totally missing. Names of some of the old players (like P Seetharatnamma, KVR, NCV Jagannathacharyulu, were mentioned. But, they are not they. Where the original file could be found. Not this one, which is a total mess.... Sorry.

Acharya garoo, you are correct. This is not the original play that was broadcast by AIR Vijayawada. This is a play bySri Ramana Murthy and Sri Somayajulu (Sankarabharanam fame). None of the characters by the great actors that originally played in the AIR Vijayawada play.
Sir, thanks for your attention. Though the version produced by Sri Somayajulu and Sri Ramana murthy might also have some merit, since my childhood, I well recall the version produced by Sri Banda Kanakalingeshwara Rao. In my point of view, there is no replacement for those radio versions of "Kanyasulkam", "Ganapathi" and "Varavikrayam" (AIR Vijayawada of 1960s). In my family, my older brothers and even me also learned those iconic lines pronounced by Sri K Venkaeshwara Rao and other players (viz Ms Sitaratnamma, GSR Murthy (Lubdhavadhanlu) and Ms Rajakumari? (Madhuravani) Sri Kuchimanchi Kutumbarao and Ms Koteswaramma and enjoy. Perhaps you might have read the memories of Mrs Sharada Srinivas (AIR Hyderabad). As she quoted, about 'erasing tapes by studio directors (to save on tapes) stating that they could be easily reproduced again, if necessary. Perhaps, the original might have been erased (God forbid). Atleast "Ganapathi" seems to have survived. @@SIVARAMAPRASADKAPPAGANTU

The person who did this I presume couldn't find the cue sheet for Ramana Murty etc కన్యాశుల్కం. He rubbed his heel and got this bright idea of just adding పాత్రలు పాత్రధారులు from 1960 AIR Vja play.

మెడ ఒకరిది. మొండెం ఒకరిది లా వుంది నాటకం. పాత్రధారులు మారిపోయారు. మసి పూసి మారేడు చేయడమంటే ఇదే మరి.
NTR సినిమా చుసినవాడికి ఈ నాటకం ఏ మాత్రం బాగుండదు. నటినటుల సంభాషణ రక్తి కట్టలేదు.waste of time.
