Hi, I would suggest to keep those plastic pins as long as you can save them, you can use low temperature solder tip to melt them little bit so they will hold your new keyboard in all spots.

Hi, I am not sure if it's the same for 13in model. Plastic rivets are holding a keyboard in place, and that's why it's important to use them (rivets) by melting 🫠. I removed an LCD, but unfortunately, do not remember if it was necessary 😊

Yes, you are right, it's just unrepairable for most people, unless you want to change whole palmrest assembly.
