Cool car! Glad you made it home safely! Nice metal work! Six years that's fast! That rabbit is insane!
I have now owned my '83 beetle for half a year, exactly today. I am now 18 and i love driving my beetle more than anything. Love the channel too ✌🏼
I'm off to rescue Dubwerks, AGAIN :).. Have a great weekend Guys 👍.
That's why VW owners make friends with other VW owners. So they have someone to pick them up.
Dear @@cidercik
👍👌👏 😁😂😁😂 Yeah, it looks as if to be a part of the VW oldtimer community is simply necessary!? ;-) Just kidding of course.
Best regards, luck and health.
Josh you happy Dad's finally working !!!; )
I remember as a young boy back in the 60's my parents had a white (1959?) VW. We did all our holidays in that car, with roof bars on the roof, and two kids tucked down in the back on an improvised bed/bench seat. Now 50 years later, this brings back great memories of holidays and unexplored country. Awesome!
Oh - she's a beauty!
That's what I'm looking for because 64 is the year of my birth.
Ditto! Not looking for a Bug, but a Chevy II. Not looking very hard as I have a new project currently with a 1981 Vette. Turn out to be way better than thought as the old owner thought it needed a new motor, but it needed a full tune up, like every possible part needed for the tuneup. Distributer, coil, plugs, air filter, wires, everything, but it runs excellent even with the crossfire fuel injection which can sometimes be a pain, but it’s excellent! Transmission is crisp as well. It’s in the body shop now. Everything is straight as it was garage kept (kinda, the roof leaked) so the paint will be redone in factory colours. First repaint on it. It’s a teenaged dream car when I was 16-17 years old. Now I have one at 57!! Haha. Interior next! I have all of the parts here now except the seats. They were the fabric covered models, but that’s hard to find so the foams and leather covers are on the way! Should have just bought the seats, but who knows???
Cars are a new addiction for me as it was trucks for the last 42 years!
this one was made in Sept 63' , it's an early 64 ...come get the 64 bahama blue Bug used as a get away car in a CT restaurant robbery in the 70's .
Nice shine! Five words that strike fear in my family: " I know a short-cut."
You sure live in a GORGEOUS part of the country ! I've never been to Connecticut.
thank you , then you drive up into VT , NH and Maine and are like🤯...makes me feel like i live in the city 😁
I agree, the eyelids look good 🤘🤘
( you need to make a t-shirt “ just moving cars around “ ) 😂
I would buy one! Two Beetles, a Terrain and my daughters Dodge Spirit.... one lane driveway :)
Hurry up and fix those brakes! Terryville is next weekend! Java Green is SWEET. I would strip and repaint that beauty. See ya next weekend
sounds like a plan ! brakes / strip and repaint to OG Java green for the weekend🤣....I will probably just drive the 66 Beetle . I will be leaving this one as is paint wise and just tidy it up for driving ....I have enough cars needing paint haha. See you Sunday Bud.
With the sunglasses and the beard you look like Ringo Starr. ;-) Nice Beatle.....
Glad you made it home, classic “I know where I’m going” moment lol
Well, it’s in a little bit better shape than the pine cone beetle…..
Seriously, nice score.
What’s up dude? I started watching your channel about a week ago... I love it! My favorite beetle is a 73 super beetle
Drove a 64 bug around SW Philly in the mid 70's.The cobblestone streets, and trolley tracks were hard on it. Glad it did not have the teeny front tires, and lowered front. That would have destroyed it !
Hi , just enjoying a beautiful weekend with the new addition . Thank for the kind words , much appreciated
@@5150mxVW of course! You def deserve more subs...I don’t understand why you don’t have 10mil yet! You are fantastic!
Also..anymore videos with mustie coming soon?
I see Jen smiling so this might work out well. And Josh keeps it real with pushin' another car. Fun video!
Yes , she noticed a roof rack on one of the cars and asked “ is that new ? “ . Yes , it came from the Beetle I just bought , I said ....she wasn’t thrilled haha . I had given him a deposit and took the rack , went back later w Jen . Yes , Josh always keeping it real 😁. Thank you
Kool bug , I got a 1959 ragtop that I love driving. There's nothing like the smell and driving an old bug on the highway and the looks ya get
Nice looking Beetle! Looks like Empi alloy wheels. Haven't seen them since the 60's.
One of the nicer ones I’ve seen on your channel. I’d say it’s a heck of a score👍🏻
I bought a 64 out of a junkyard in Boise Idaho in 84 for $400. Best car I ever had and I miss it daily. We just didn’t know what we had. I sure love my 69 which I do have.
Gorgeous Beetle 68!
I bought my 76 last year without test driving it. Very nice car, congrats.
WOW. Sir I insist you are a very fortunate man. God bless you and your family.
Haha that was pretty cool with your sons ability to spot broken down VWs in the woods, who knows if it ended up there or if it was pushed there, don't even have a drivers license but still recently subscribed for the restoration of these old cars, thanks
Good looking car. Good price, too. I like how you do the check over of the car after the highway trip home. Lol. Another good video! 👍
Great video Jason. I love the 64 . Great job finding the hidden treasure in the woods Josh
The colour suits the 64. Easy fixes for you. I learnt to drive in a ‘78 VW Golf (rabbit). I now own and drive a 2019 Golf, great wee cars
Man, the Alpine comment took me right back to the 80’s!😂😂😂
Nice Bug! My dad has a 64 beetle low rider pearl white patina. When we first got it it had the BRMs. Now we got the porche rims on it. Planning on getting the BRMs again! 👍
WOW how pretty. I have a 64 with crank sun roof in my Moms back yard has bamboo taking it over needs a full restoration
wow! such a great looking 64 bugeye. so fresh. 😳
Beautiful car, the red, although not factory, looks great. Nice bit of surgery on the Single cab.
Same year I was born but it looks a whole lot better than me. What a beauty.
Wow looks like a great score. Have a good weekend...
That's a nice looking car! I didn't know you owned an angle grinder LOL! Thanks for the rescue BTW!
What a beautiful paint job.
1200 was manufactured in Brazil until 1966, with a model of the oldest block, Vw offered a similar exchange basis, when it needed to be rectified, claimed 1200 br
@@BRED510
here in Brazil, the Vw 1200 until 1966 has the same block model as the Vw 1953, a two-part block.
Beautiful Car Jason. Love the color....in side and out I think you got a good deal for shape and year of it. So clean!👍
Hi Jim , I sold it for what I paid , 6k ...working on the ruby red 63 right now , super solid !
I like it! Always an adventure on that first ride
At least you don’t have to sneak this one past Jenn! LOVE THE COLOR! Next Sunday it will be 82 degrees so I am going to drive 007 to Rapid City and back 174 miles one way. Will leave very early so I can be back before it hits 82. Will have the oil changed before I go. Wish me luck! Roger in Pierre South Dakota
Another great find. Really dig the color. The engine sound strong and the lowered front end must have made it a bear to drive. You really do have a touch for finding these gems. Keep up the hunt.
Hi Tom , the paint is different and the engine does run very well ...I must say I drove the stock sea blue 66 and what a difference :). Thank you
The Alpine was probably the First thing to go from the rabbit! Nice score with the 64 always love BRMs too!🤙🏼
I bought a '70 Ford Econoline Van w/out a test drive -& had my best friend follow me home, you know "just in case". Brakes were occasional, let's say. But driving home on a Friday night after rush hour balanced it out :)
Cool find!
Wow that car fire would have has 95 backed up for 3 hours here in Virginia, and you just drove right on by... 🤯🤯🤯
Very nice car, hopefully there won’t be any hidden gremlins. Great to see some fabbing on the SC happening as well. Nice, I love it...
Back in the day I had a 1964 Beetle and found a complete Porsche 356 parts minus body shell and transferred everything onto my old beetle.
Love the colour of that bug Jason, a friend of mine has an immaculate mid 60's Karmann Ghia original in that colour. The '64 you bought will come up great with those few mechanical issues fixed, shame about the super lowered suspension, looks good but impractical, great it is still 6 volt and original 1200/40hp engine.
Looks good for 6k us ,that would be 20k in Aussie money.Love your channel .I have a lad named Josh the same age. We are doing a restomod on a 61 one year only Ruby Red . Keep up the great videos .Ive watched all your vids I love your style and content. You’re keeping it real 🤙
J, I love the new car! Great year and I too am a fan of the BRMs. $6k IMO is very fair for that car, despite the number of non-matching pieces that appear to be on it. I’ll tell you I never drive my oldies on the highway if I can avoid it. Danger Will Robinson!
wow....what a gorgeous ride....I had one...While out to sea on the USS Carl Vinson, someone stole the headlights, bumpers, turn signals....well, anyway, it went by the wayside....
Man that's a nice car I'm a tad bit jealous which is funny because I'm not even that big of a beetle fan
Future car 🚗💨 of mine, I also wanted this car, small but fine!
Nice ride!!!! 👍
Wow looks in good shape
Nice car …. Just needs some TLC
Sweet car! Has a lot less work needed on it than most of the ones you have at home 🤣. Nice carpet set and away you go....
Check it out and maybe install a camber compensator in the back and make sure you have a front anti sway bar on the front beam. Sometimes adding caster shims helps an unstable front end too.
The smaller front wheels make for wrong speedo readings.
Hooray!!! Welding!! Pretty soon you’ll be just like Mike Fn!!! 😉💪👍
Beautiful vw!
Nice looking Beetle that, never seen a red one before looks cool
Nice '64, a step up, with keys and a good dash. Sad Rabbit, they really did a number on it.
Very sharp car! I like it!! Yeah those smaller front tires made Speedo spin faster. Oh screws won’t work where I live on a tag 😁
Nice car Jason. The last bug I bought back in the 80s that I drove home from its resting place was a 1966 older restoration not in bad shape at all. I paid $400.00 for. If I only knew they would be selling for six grand 😳
The charge light indicator bulb has been switch into tne signal light indicator. .... You will need a Vplkswagen mechanic to check everything in the bug... You are very brave to drive this car on the road....
When I bought my bug, the guy said, "That's just how Beetle brakes are." Um, no sir, that's not how they are, the right rear brake cylinder was leaking, and I think he knew that. I replaced it and now it stops real good.
sounds like the 67 Ghia vert I bought Jen . the front end was so bad just around his nice neighborhood roads at 35 mph ...I was like : " yikes , needs some front end work " ....he says " nah , that's typical for an old car " ....
Nothing like a "Danger Ride" in a cool looking bug.
Enjoy the Day
Peace ✌
It looks nice I'm sure it will get you home
That's a super sweet new skate you got yourself there! Congratulations! Now, get rid of that weak 40horse! Seriously, I'm jealous. It's a pretty car. Enjoy it!
thank you , yeah the ole 40 drops off the chart quick when it sees a slight hill :)
Always pump them brakes BEFORE you need to use them. Pumping will almost always firm them up for that initial stop! 😉👍
just beautiful
Nice 64 buy Jason ,how many have you got know ? I actually sold one this week but bought 2 an Audi TT Quattro and a gt beetle (vwcoco channel) nice repair on split cab and a mk1 golf (rabbit) in the woods very cool but def joyriders
Exactly when you said good metal for patches I said the same thing. Enjoy
Hard to understand how a guy could make a car so nice and not do the easy thing like brakes.
Nice car!
That Rabbit would be worth big bucks here in the UK lol
Have a great weekend
New subscriber from the UK - love that you save so many of these Beetles and Campers. Have a 1971 1300 myself, and have always loved Beetles.
Late to your channel Jason, but do you have any videos of when you have completed a vehicle and moved it on. Not seen one!
Awesome channel.
@@5150mxVW Appreciate the reply Jason. So, I guess the thrust of my question was, do you get some of these absolute wrecks back into saleable condition - I just haven't seen any videos, where you have brought one back to life and sent it back out into the world to be enjoyed.
BTW - Josh is a star, so articulate, with a great sense of humour.... must get that from the ever-patient Jen (joking, of course).
Very cool looking VW. Body seems to be in great shape. What does it look like underneath? Much rust or repaired?
That one will be a piece of cake to restore. Be sure to change the old brake light switches on the master. I had one blow out on a 68 and lost brakes.
"Oh,...the brakes are terrible!" .... and a car makes a U-turn in front of you a few moments later...I had a heart attack on your behalf...😁 Very cool looking machine. I like that style of wheel too.
Cheers, and stay well!
