So I got bored and I decided to study Aki's elf language for bit to see what I can find out about it. So first things first and you might have known this already, but this is not just language made randomly.
An easy thing to notice straight away is that words are repeated, (I'm not just talking about the chorus BTW) but individual words are used in sentences that are different.
Also if there was already a translation like this, oh well, it was pretty fun to do anyways.
So here's a list of word to word translations that I have found:
Shallys=lantern (very likely and probably is true)
Stulia=story
Hap'a=fortune, future (about 98% sure about this one)
Cant=land (pretty sure)
Contas= journey/travel (fairly sure and it would make sense that the word for travel would have similar pronunciation and spelling as land)
Woilaj=girl, her, she (very sure about this, repeated multiple times in different sentences and is integral to the song)
Ji'ulyc=think, remember (Not as sure as the others)
Hale'illia=holding (fairly sure)
Shelo=face (pretty sure with evidence)
Fimola=see (same as above)
Niconia=family (pretty sure, you'll see why later)
Lala=friend (pretty sure, for the same reason above)
Now for sentence structures that found. Which isn't many, since many words aren't directly translated, but there were a few simple sentences that I was able to break down.
Fimola shelo niconia/lala
Translated roughly= I see the face of my family/friends
Breaking down this sentence structure gives two possibilities:
Verb-object-noun or
Object-verb-noun
Where the verb is see and object is face
We know that niconia and lala can't be the verb or object as they are the only thing different in the two sentences, corresponding with family and friend. Meaning either shelo is face and Fimola is see or its the way round.
Luckily, we have another sentence to help discern this and it's this line:
Contas, hale'illia on shallys
Roughly translated: Journeying on, holding on to a lantern.
Breaking down the sentence structure gives:
Seperate clause-verb-object
Where contas is its own clause (more on this later), the verb is hale'illia and the object is shallys.
This shows that the rule seems to be that the verb comes before the object, meaning in our last sentence the verb is fimola and the object is shelo, this meaning that they translate to face and see, respectively.
Finally, the last thing I noticed is that single word can represent an entire concept or meaning. By that I mean that one word can contain its on clause depending on context. This is shown in the sentence: Contas, hale'illia on shallys, which if translated literally would mean, journey, holding on to a lantern.
However this is not the meaning and Contas actually roughly translates to I'm journeying onwards or something similar.
TL;DR-
A lot of thought went into making this language and subsequently the song, making it very underrated and Aki is an actual goddess elf from another world.

Aki is criminally underrated, she literally made a new language for this song and it only has 177k views. I really really hope youtube starts recommending her channel to more people. She deserves to be at the top with fubuki and korone
The recommendation of her channel is not the problem, the problem is the lack of translators translating her content. I've known about Aki for a long time, but I wasn't subscribed because I wasn't just gonna be giving out free subscriptions to people just because they are related to Hololive. I need to know if they deserve it. But nobody translated her, so I assumed she must be an uninteresting person. And I can't check for myself, I don't speak Japanese. Anyways, there are a couple of translated vids so now I find her worthy of a subscription.

@amai n Yeah I sometimes jump into a live stream just to check what they are doing. But I only stay for less than a minute since I don't understand them. Now if they play a game I like, I will stay and watch to see how well they do. Like Aqua playing skyrim. Or Aqua speedrunning darksouls. Aqua isn't even that high on my favourite vtuber list, but she often plays games that I am interested in, so she's the only one I've watched the whole stream of. Also I really enjoy Haachama's short videos because they are so insane, you don't need a translator, because even a translator couldn't make it any more sane. So those are the two vtubers I enjoy without a translator. But the rest I need a translator because what I like about them is their personality, and that I only get from their speech.

We are so spoiled. They went to the trouble to give us the original lyrics, a pronunciation guide in katakana, an English translation, and a Japanese translation. And on top of that, beautiful captions for all versions of the lyrics! Thanks for all your hard work!

She seriously seems like a late bloomer between the Hololive girls. She is incredible beautiful, talented, everytime I saw her in collabs I loved her voice, and surprinsingly her funny side as well. She can really grow a lot if she starts doing more diverse content. She has a tremendous potential yet

Someone translated and made a playlist of everyone's first taste of ARK, that's the one time I know I saw her before all this. Marine was worried Aki would get everyone pregnant. 😁
It was a mix of things that caused her to avoid the upswell her seniors got and combined with the rise of more and more lively girls in later gens (let alone Fubuki and Haachama), she got sort of lost until people like Koefficent stumbled on her and made her known. Honestly part of why the recent troubles troubled me was in part because her upcoming bit on the Shitposting review would have been quite a boost because just about EVERYONE in the HL scene watches that.
Truck-kun literally isekai'd her back to her homeworld for a month. Now she's back to grace us with her presence.

There are a few people in the comments here, that are figuring out the linguistics of it, it's pretty cool. There's probably more people on reddit or some other places online, having more info on the language. I sadly haven't seen much from Aki's streams so idk if she uses this language frequently or at all in her streams as well, or if it's only in this song. I need to dig more

音のイメージとしてはクトゥルフ神話のルルイエ語に近いけど、元になった言語で想像つくのは英語、ヘブライ語、ラテン語かなぁ。イタリア語とかスペイン語も混じってそうだけど。
造語を歌詞に完璧に落とし込んだ作曲家は平沢進を措いて他に知らなかった。
造語の為だけに小説を作ってしまった学者はトールキンを措いて他に知らなかった。

If you're reading this, you've probably listened to the song, but if somehow you haven't: this song is legit good (本当に良い). Like I've been listening to it on repeat all day. Most of the music that comes out of Hololive isn't for me. I get why they do it and I bet it's super-commercially viable, but listening to women sing cutesy-cutesy in high pitched voices: it's like eating cotton candy: good for a taste, but not for a meal.
Shallys is a meal of a song. Aside from a confusing trip midsong to Morroco, this is a beautiful folk song and... the lyrics are also really good! Which is really surprising being composed by Japanese people (no offence intended, but if you understand enough Japanese grammar to "get" the language, you understand why so many Japanese people tend to have lesser foreign language skills compared to other nationalities-- their grammar is so different to even other langages in East Asia. It's like speaking in Ikea instructions and that's super interesting, but it requires you to learn a new way of thinking.)
This song surprised me because it's so different than the sort of generic pop music we normally get from idols. And the animation is also striking and beautiful. I'm really impressed. This isn't a song you should listen to because you like Aki or want to support her. It's a song you should listen to because it's a quality composition.

this is really thought out and I agree, like most idol songs are cutesy songs just to make us get diabetes, but this song aki did is a rare gold of music where you can actually appreciate how good it is, not because it's cute but because it's beautiful.

This song shares a lot of similarities with traditional Romani songs, including the break itself. I'm pretty sure those folk songs inspired this song, if not directly then indirectly through cultural osmosis.

Disclaimer: I am a Chinese native speaker and I speak (relatively poor) English and Japanese as well. I took reference from both Japanese and English subtitles from the original video's subtitles. I am no polyglot or linguist but an amateur language nerd, and I do not fluent in any language I mentioned in the post except Japanese and English.
I think it is safe to say the song's phonetic is almost based on Japanese, that the AIUEO vowel system was perfectly kept; there is only one prononciation that do not exists in Japanese, which is the 'Si'(スィ), which because Japanese use 'Shi'(シ)to transcript such sound.
The vocabularies are quite of romance-ish like Italian, Spanish, that you can see that most of the word end in vowel, or -s, also the completely absent of letter K, all the Voiceless velar plosive(/k/) are wrote as 'C', this is a typical romance language's feature. Also, 'J' was used to represent the /dʒ/, which is probably derived from English. But as far as I concerned, such prononce rule was loaned from French, so it is still a romance-ish trait.
Of course there still have quite of an amount of remarkable exception, like 'can't','Ji'ulyc', the usage of ’Y' for /i:/ sound mostly used in Islandic and Alemannish, which is both a Germanic language, and apostrophe for separate sounds makes the language sounds more exotic. Also, some Japanese-ish word like 'nodomuru', in a simple structure without any compound vowel, consonant or syllable coda.
I think most of us could easily figure out some of word is notably resembled some real-life vocabulary, like 'be'iru', 'stulia', 'non', 'sak'chwa'. But after I check the etymology, except of 'bell', none of them come from non-romance language origin, so it is probably a romance-ish english affected conlang(Maybe Anglo-Norman?).
The A:B below, A is the Verse number and B is the line of the verse.
The 'Akirosese' refers to the conlang.
Now I have ensured these word:
1. I Ji'ulyc=Lantern, Lamp, Glim
Lyrics Compared: 1:2+5:3
Some may confused that why I look at 1:2, Instead of 'Lantern' appeared at 1:1, and it seems refering to 'Shallys' by position, but after I compared with Japanese subtitle, the english translation has been inverted, in Japanese translation the 'Lantern' is refering the position of 'I Ji'ulyc'. Also it has been mentioned at 5th Verse so I'll say it has been proved. However what 'I' and 'Ji'ulyc' separately means is remain unknown.
2. Hap'a=Fortune, Blessing
Lyrics Compared: 1:4+2:4
This is quite obviously though, it is the only linkable word.
3. Minas=Evil
Lyrics Compared: 2:1+2:2
Although English subtitle did not mention it directly. but Japanese subtitle was obvious.
4. Stulia=Story
Lyrics Compared: 3:3+3:4
Damn Straight. I think every english speaker will find this out.
But this also hinted us that Akirosese does not have any agglutinatic nor fusionic genitive feature like Latin or Indonesian, no matter whose's stulia, it doesn't change the word. Which means the remaining nuance should lie in two left words.
5.Di mi woi= Reset-off, Restart, Continue
Lyrics Compared: 2:4+6:3
In addition, Di mi woilaj is 'She reset-off', which is a bit surprised me, cuz as I mentioned I thought that it does not have any agglutinatic nor fusionic feature, but verb
After this I have checked if the prefix "Di-' has been appear somewhere else, which I found some interesting point. All guess by position, that the 'Dililalu'(which may means 'Step' ) at 5:5, 'Dig'(which may means 'slash') at 2:2, ’Dishi'(which may mean 'If' or 'Swallowed') at 2:3, I guess that 'Di-' is some kind of verb modifier, which means something like 'Go', or 'Be', but I don't have any evidence yet.

Shelo=beloved face
Nicola=Family
Lala=Friend
Lyrics Compared: 6:2+6:4
It is not so possible if they use Face-see-noun modifier(O-V-Adv) after the analyze I have done, so Fimola should be the verb 'see', and Shelo should be the object(probably with the beloved nuance included.)
From this line, we could figure out few points:a. Akirosese put their noun-modifier after the noun, like French and Indonesian.
b. Akirosese tend to omit the subject, especially if the context has hinted who or what is it.
c. Akirosese tend to express a specific action or things with one single word
7.Te can't=The land
Lyrics Compared: 5:9+6:6
In Japanese subtitle, it translate as '大地'(Daichi), it literally translate as 'The great land'. If it could fit on Akirosese, and regard to the rule above, 'te' probably means 'land', and cant may means 'great'. To me, I could think of 'Terra' with 'te', but not the slightest clue of 'can't'.
8.Mo= Don’t worry
Lyrics Compared: 6:5+6:6
Another obvious one. With 'te can't' above, 'lata' is probably 'on your side','friendly'.
9.Molof= Tomorrow
Lyrics Compared: 6:7+6:8
Same as 'Mo'. With the 'Di mi woilaj', Hola is probably 'Please'.
10:Shallys=Oasis, place for rest, Hometown
Lyrics Compared: 1:1+1:4
Also, a guess by position of subtitles. This maybe a bit of far-fetched, but if the Be'iru do is 'Bell', then Sha lu should be 'Hometown', which could perfectly match with 'Shallys' which on a same position of 'Oasis, place for rest' in the subtitles. Referring your hometown as 'Oasis' or 'Place for rest' is a propriate metaphor. However, this will break the rules of noun-modifier after the noun.
Also some words can be guess by their resemblance with the real-life words:
Be'iru=Bell
elaborated above so no more further explain.
Sak'chwa=Sanctuary
actually this is kind of well-hid one, I didn't realized at the first time.
Non=not
From French, obviously. From this we could say 'Tocia=anyone else'.
In summaries:
1.similar with Romance language, using an SVO order like English, French
2. Some simple verb expression had an agglutinative modify
3.Put noun modifier after the word, but there is exception
4.Use a single word to express a specific action or expression that frequently used, which might means that it has quite a lot of unique word but not construct by existing word
5.Some of the word resembled Romance origin word, which might means that Akirose's world is visited by Isekai traveller’s from those region
6.even they seem have no complicated fusional variation, no adposition has been observed.
7. To be honest I will not say it is a well-made conlang, it's grammar has some inconsistent place left unexplained, of course I am not even close to get the whole grip of this conlang, but it definitely did the trick to place listener into the fantasy another-world Akirose depicted.
loved the deep dive into the conlang! I'm more intrigued if Aki developed it as a whole first, or the song first, then translated into a loose conlang.

I think Shelo could just mean Face, and Niconia and Lala could be beloved family and beloved friend respectively; for one the english translation use face of my beloved..... Implying that beloved describe the latter noun, though I don't know Japanese so it could be different

What I thought is Akirose's world maybe visited by many english speaker from various ages, including middle to nowadays modern english speaker. That's why the latin script is a romanc-ish one cuz the one who set this maybe someone who is fond of romance but speaking some relatively old english(like Anglo-norman), which is possible after the age that Normans had invaded the England, but after that some isekai traveller from later time visit here, and they contributed some word in the Akirosese,
and hence Akirosese are blended with quite a few of romance-ish english word.
I find 'bell' is the only word that come from germanic, so I will say it is mostly an english-affected language.
It goes without saying, but this song (And Aki herself) is incredibly underrated and ridiculously impressive. Being able to create such an awesome song *in a language that you literally invented* , and not only have it sound good, but also make grammatical sense, is a legitimately awesome feat.

The fact she made a song utilizing a language she randomly came up with is the stuff I haven't seen since Nier and Ar Tonelico. Very impressive, Akirose. Every depiction of media that is seen depicts Akirose depicts her as graceful, angelic and free spirited and this video really showcases that.

Thinking back to when I first saw this song, I was enchanted by the entirety of the production but something struck me rewatching it in 2021. Lately, there's been a lot of demand for Hololive members to innovate, break the mold, and do unique non-standard music. Personally, I enjoy their idol-like music well enough, but seeing Marine pull something like Unison was great. Then I saw this again and I was shocked. *_This was among the earliest most unique original songs we ever got._*
