How to Animate Aggretsuko on Netflix [Scribble Kibble]
Vložit
- čas přidán 11. 07. 2019
- A tutorial on how to design, draw, and animate characters in the Aggretsuko art style. Works for most programs and does not have spoilers for the Netflix show.
I was curious how a snake might look, so I made a cobra. Official show characters shown here as examples include Retsuko, Washimi, Gori, and Haida.

It looks like the scene was from an actual episode
I was going to say the same thing
That's a good thing, considering that was the goal and all. Also idk what but something actually seem off to me... 🤔
@@The-Determined-Ninja What exactly seems off to you?
@@carastone1897 I'm not sure, something to do wish the animation itself I feel.
yess!!1
I’d like to learn how to animate in the “HILDA” Style, from netflix
Omg I love HILDA!!
:OOOOOO HILDA YAS
Ye
yes please! that show is beautifully done!! 💕
I always loved that art style!
I think a snake character would be more interesting if it had a tail, if it didn't then it's just a human with a snake head.
Toot Bender it does have a tail, you can see it in 2:56. Why you didn’t see it in the animation was because the tail was low since it was under a skirt.
It has a tail.
I said *A* snake character not *THE* snake character guys.
Toot Bender I feel dumb now that you point that out
That'd be weird considering it's a snake
Gosh i hecking love aggretsuko, thanks for the tutorial! I wish i had a proper program to use it though.
You don't need adobe to tween or animate like that, you can go to things like ToonBoom (which is cheaper but not free), OpenToonz, or Synfig (which both are free)
Oh hi Cupcat! Nice to see you here also ayyy i also love aggretsuko!!
@@yukaii0 Oh hello!! And yes, its a good show.
You can also use cut paper animation. Basically, you make multiple paper pieces and make it into a puppet. Then you take a picture each time you move it, some editing... BAM! An animation. It's tedious, but if done nicely it'll look fantastic. I suggest you look up tutorials if you want to try it.
Me too
awesome tutorial as always!
keep up the great work
I agree
ye
just note sure if its possible on flipaclip
YOSH TEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Omg that cobra you made I thought that it was a real character from the show XD
Yeah me too!
Same omg
Mee too lmao
This character said three words and I already relate on a spiritual level.
‘This is.... water’
What did u expect it to be, butter?
Wine, in this case poison
Maybe vodka
Booze? I thought that was what the X was for.
Oh sweet summer child
@@linuslucky1935 maybe tequila
You should work for them hands down
More like they should work for her
Ruby the blob I was joking
Ruby the blob wait she did?
@@unkownshoo1038 but she would be a good director since she knows the method and notices the best qualities of Aggretsuko's animation style.
How about “Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends” for the next art style tutorial?
Aidan Defrehn's 2nd Channel oh yeah
IT WAS SO GOOD! i thought the opening skit was a real clip from an actual eposode
THIS LOOKS LIKE IT COULD’VE BEEN RIPPED FROM THE ACTUAL SHOW, I WON’T LIE-
Can you look at Spider-Man in to the Spider verse🕷
i feel like trying to teach someone how to animate like that would be very difficult, but it could be worth a try!!
they said 2D art style
That's 3D with very stylized textures and animation
As much as I would love that, that’s 3D animation. Unless you mean how to copy the frame rate and textures I guess I could understand. But I don’t think we’ll get something like that anytime soon.
not 2d, thats 3d
Hands down my favorite anime. I actually just finished watching both seasons yesterday
Mine too. Tokyo Ghoul then Future Diary.
That clip of your cobra was so spot on. The animation, the music, even the voice acting sounds like it would fit perfect in the dub. Do you have a video of just the clip?
I love the animation style for Aggretsuko, its just so poppy and all over the place and fun. Your animation really reflects that!
when i saw thee thumbnail i thought it was a new episode, this is really good
So you watch the episodes on youtube?
I'm curious about the "ok ko, let's he heroes" style
i wanna make a gorillaz like-animation/art
It whoud be great for a next video and I'm sure I'll get a lotta use of it!
I wanna draw pickle,pasta,t o o c h I e and bish bosh boy in a better style
yes!!
also fellow murdoc icon 😏
mintie-verse 👀👀👀 I love murdoc and Russel
oh Mood?
The animation in the show isn't always buttery smooth though. There are some scenes where the characters' movements lag a little bit.
Omg, I love this. Id designed my own character using similiar line width and style already, now I just need an Adobe version. Perfect.
This episode was very insightful it makes me appreciate that even with such a minimalist style the show doesn't take as many shortcuts as so other studios might be tempted too. Really speaks well of the creators having good and purposeful art direction, which is always great! :D I recently got around to watching the Cobbler and the Thief recobbled cut any chance you and onion will talk about it in the podcast? I feel like that whole journey brings a lot of meaty topics about animation and the process and shows them in a way many people don't often realize about the whole process of making an animated movie. Its also just gotten me to think a lot about Richard Williams was trying to push the medium of 2d animation and how as of now it feels like there's very few big projects trying to do that aside from just making 3d animation look more photo realistic. I especially admire how he pushed for movement, like basically what makes animation animation to its limits and I was trying to think in terms of 3d animation is that happen? Since 3d models exist and you could animate on ones with 3d why aren't we seeing more of a push for that in 3d animation besides the fact that it would be normally considered a lot of work but like besides Into the Spidervese that used animation of frames per second to convey characterization and growth, what else could be done in that direction with 3d? Oh gosh i just too many thoughts xD that movie blew my mind.
Can we learn to animate in an *O.K. K.O. Let's be heroes* style?
Just cut of your characters fingers
YESSSSSSS
Yass!
@@Sleepy_Cabbage HAHAHA
Maybe TAWOG style too.
This looks so good I actually thought this was an episode i missed!
I havent seen the season 2, i legit thought the cobra was a canon char xd
Oh my gosh! This is a really GOOD tutorial on the style! Id love to see a Tangled The Series styled tutorial!
Now this is the one I've been waiting for.
I finished season two a couple of days ago and I was looking for a video like this
Thanks so much!
I love this! I was blown away by the example. It looks like it was taken straight out of the show.
even if the artstyle is "simple" you did a very great job. i had to think about if it is real or just self animated so it was very nice ! i would love a full episode of it :D
You should talk about the new CZcams series, My Pride. It has a different style than other animated shows, with more limited animation, but it uses fluid and smooth animation when it needs to. It would also be great to see the show get some spotlight, since it's got a lot of potential.
Excellentl turorial, not that I'll ever be able to do any of this 😅😅
i Want 2 things:
1. A Scribble Kibble Video on Into the Spiderverse
2. Scribbles the Wolf in the Artstyle of Aggretsuko
Wow. This is honestly a great birthday gift (yeah. It was released on my brithday). I think the style is adorable, and now I wanna make my dog in the style! I also really wanna watch it now!
OHMYGOSH I HAVE BEEN WAITING DOR THIS!!! HAVEN’T WATCHED IT YETBUT IM SO EXCITED LOL!
Do you think one day you might do a video about Professor Layton? Specifically gameplay with high quality cutscenes and diverse character animation?
This isn't a specific style animation, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to properly storyboard a small animatic and I was digging through your tutorials and found mostly program related stuff. I'm doing pretty much all my prep work by hand with pencil and paper since my primary animation program is more for illustration that animation and I want to avoid fighting with the timing tools as much as possible. Any tips, tricks or ideas on plotting out a storyboard by hand would be IMMENSELY helpful.
Oh HECK why haven’t you been hired for some big company you’re so good at animation!!! You deserve WAY more credit!!
This looks really nicely made, great tutorial! Perhaps in the next Skribble Kibble you could show us how to animate in the South Park animation style?
The character really looks like it came from the show ! Great job👍
what in the hot diggity demon, why is your channel so helpful you tutorial of a human I love you
This is very educated. Thanks for sharing and well done on the cobra :)
"No points, Everything is round."
Pretty much my style in a nutshell...
This is really cool and your character Design is on Point and very cute
I love it when physical animal traits are considered for animalistic characters. I disheartens me to see characters like in Bojack Horseman walking around with nothing but different colored skin and animals heads. It’s like the creators are afraid of being associated with being a furry just because they made somewhat appropriate anthropomorphic animal characters. I think that’s one of the reasons why I love Aggretsuko so much. Their real life physical animalistic properties are taken into account when creating their design like how Retsuko and Fenniko are tiny compared to Haida and how Ton is a large obese pig, which pigs are for the most part at adult age, and how Gori is bulky but fit gorilla.
so this person could make aggretsuko episodes with ease, go on and start your lifelong job please.
Nice! I love this anime!
Thank you for the tutorial it was great. If you're up for a challenge a little outside the norm, I'd love to see how you tackle a 2D video game animation style like that of ACE Team's Rock of Ages II. It's got an amazing aesthetic since it uses a lot of historical paintings an pictures. Thanks in advance and keep up the great work!
THIS IS AMAZINF WHAT
Animate like Invader Zim.
Part 1 - The Tv Series
Part 2 - The Netflix Movie
I already noticed a lot of those things when watching the show, but I always like to watch you explaining :3
i was gonna suggest bfb style for the next one (it stands for battle for battle for dream island, a CZcams cartoon show) but I don't think you've seen that yet; although it does have interesting animation effects and stuff idk
Imagine if you made a tutorial on how to animate like the movie ' Shrek ',everybody would be proud.
wow that's amazing. If I saw this on the show, I wouldn't think twice for a second.
I would LOVE to see art style of "Secret of the Kells"! It's kind of an older and less popular film but it's really unique and beautiful.
I like a bunch of the other suggestions I see in the comments. Specifically "Hilda"however, I think covering something like Family Guy, Final Space, or Rick and Morty in the future would be interesting as well.
Can you look at isle of dogs🐺🤖🐈
that's 3D animation but yeah that would be interesting
jairo marcal stop motion*
that isnt 2d, doing stop motion like isle of dogs would take way too much time and expensive programs
Real life stop motion??? Nah it's nothing alike 2d anination she usually did. It's too complex
@@thepencilwizard7585 3D Animation? Well, stop-motion is an appropriate word since it had some realistic textures.
Gee i had a stroke trying to remember than the cobra wasnt in the serie
YES. THIS IS BEAUTIFUL.
I was randomly recommended this by the YT algorithm, but I got to say, I am glad to have found you!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you SOOOOO MUCH!! I WANT TO DRAW SHIROTA SO BAD AND NOW I HAVE IT WITH THIS TUTORIAL!!! 💗💗💗💗💗
God finally. Someone making tutorials that actually matter.
Excellent video
This was so cool!
Okay but why is the cobra kind of a baddie though
Looks real! 👍
question: with the hand design, can we make the hooves more unique and treat them similarly to claws? or is that not allowed...
I'm not sure how a hoof would be like a claw, but I think your idea would probably work fine. Most of the time hands are basic shapes. The deer is probably who you want to look at for hoof inspiration, since she actually has them.
Im literally trying to animate this way because I'm obsessed with the show
but what makes it even more harder is that i dont have computer, only phone
I hope i will be able to animate like this in future, and i hope this tutorial will still be up in the future qwq
You're a freaking genius
Tbh I love their animation style
THANK YOU!
I would love to see something on the real Tuesday weld C: possibly there song 'Kix'
Excellent in depth tutorial! Now to learn how to animate 😂
So amazing
ohmahgaw aggretsuko is probably my favourite animated series _ever_
You never disappoint.
Just saw thumbnail and clicked thinking it was a sneak peak to season three :/ This is good too 0/
Whoa! That's amazing!
Amazing world of gumball...Like that is the most unique cartoon I've seen since Chowder. Also maybe explain how they did the texture stuff for chowder?
Danny Phantom? I don’t know if you’ve already done it, but if you haven’t I would really appreciate seeing how to animate in that style! Thank you!
Ooh, maybe you could teach us how to make character rigs that can be seen differently at different angles?
Oh my :0 u did very well hooman....congrats
Bro i have only seen a few episodes of aggretsuko and I didnt know the snake wasnt yours 😱 i thought those were scenes from the show and i was so confused as to why your "self created" character was the same as an existing character lol
I requested this one!😊💕
Whoa this is really good and in depth :0 nice job!!! It looks just like the show!
that program with the darker interface is not flash it's adobe animate
I Animate like these
Also cool video 👌
this video was made four years ago, but i really wanna see more vids like this. like animating like Ludo studios, the creator of bluey
I loved this series ;w;
I really love your work!! Do you have or know any tutorial of adobe animate? I wanna try your tutorials of how to animate like :0
I have a whole class on how to use Adobe Animate, but it's not free. www.scribblekibble.com/class/
There are lots of free tutorials you'll find using google that you can learn from slowly, but none of them are that great. You can still learn from them but it will take a long time and you'll miss tips & tricks artists using the program for many years have figured out.
how awesome!!
Damn that's so good!
Amaaaazing!!!
I don’t care about animation but I’m going through aggretsuko withdrawal and I like your videos so yardy know 🗿🗿🗿🗿
you're so knowledgeable and observant! great tutorial
Plot twist *she's working with Aggretsuko*
Holy crap I like that cobra.
May you please do an episode on the night in the woods/ I know you did the character animation but I much more refer to background I just simply love the art style
This was great! Thanks so much!
Aggretsuko is one of my favorite series. Haida is such a precious fellow.
Have you done Bojack Horseman yet? That is another series I like to watch. :)
