I just found your channel today and I'm hooked. Listening to you is like listening to an old friend. I love the fact that you don't have music in the background. I enjoy the ramblings, makes me feel normal, I talk to the fabric, myself and to anyone around while im sewing. I'm from the US, 63 years young and enjoy learning new things. Have a wonderful day.
Welcome so lovely to have you here. I don't like music in videos either, especially not when someone is speaking so it won't ever be something I will do. I am so happy you enjoy the ramblings and witterings. 😁❤️
Very aptly put-an old piece of cloth speaks to you, whereas a new piece, that no one has ever done anything with, doesn’t. ❤
🙏❤️
However, old pieces of cloth were once new.....
@@ellekewilms6891 true but I like cloth that has lived a little and has a history. Also I prefer to repurpose old cloth as there is so much in the world rather than encourage production of more by buying new cloth. ❤️
This is exactly the type of project I was looking for in 2024 and didn’t even know it until I fell upon this channel. Very much looking forward to making 52 pieces along with you. 😊
Welcome lovely to have you along ❤️
I’ve never heard about slow stitching before but this is incredible. I feel an rabbit hole incoming!
Welcome, come on down, it's great! 😁❤️
Me too!
I’m sitting, in France, slow stitching, and I found you!! What joy this Sunday morning!! I will definitely join you with these projects in January. I do exactly the same with old and used fabrics, the sense of memories when I’m using it is so calming, added to which the re-using fabric rather than the environmental cost of new cloth. Thank you for this, perfect for the winter.
Bonjour! So happy you found me ❤️
@armandefrance701 I echo that. I am sitting in South Africa and am so glad I found this channel. Greetings
@@k3n.clothtaleslovely lovely channel. Greetings from South Africa
Yes Same here!
Hiya 🌞, just found your channel last evening, and getting to watch now at last! I am just learning to use this device so will get my IT personelle(11&14 yrs) to educate me over the Christmas period, as l just do bits( all kinds of sewing etc)mainly for the pleasure of the doing!Materials etc are like confectionery for me,& those with an history are the best kind. Your delightful conversation mirrors my own way of talking-as l often digress/ go on a tangent as one's mind has many thoughts that want to have their say simultaneously! 😀 I shall look forward to joining your group in 2024 as l think it'll be fun& trust many others will be of a like mind.I am in Brisbane,Australia, but spent various times in parts of France as l grew up.Best wishes, and have a magical Christmastide, (& to all here)🎄.Julia- JIMK.Mrs.(Not Damien, hisMother)😊🇦🇺 🪃 ❤-18/12/2023.
Your channel just popped up. I don’t even know how to sew! But your handmade items are so beautiful I am going to attempt to learn. A new subscriber from Santa Barbara, California.
Welcome so lovely to hear that you are inspired to pick up a needle and thread 😀
I’m watching from Loma Linda California. On December 30, 2023. It’s a rainy day. Thank you for sharing.
My pleasure, it was dry here in France today, for a change 😁❤️
@@k3n.clothtales Glad it’s dry in France. I picked up my sewing after seeing a couple of your videos. You inspired me. 🥰 I’m doing cross stitch.
I have found someone who thinks just as I do over fabrics and things, threads, tools. I have a beautiful work table which I adore using, just as it was 250 years ago. Still living it’s life as intended. I’m going to enjoy it here! Thank you for a wonderful channel.
thank you for 'getting it' ❤️❤️❤️
It's a wonderful moment when you find there are new friends who understand what others are calling 'your messy hoarders nest of lint' (because I'm sure all of Us have heard just that phrase from the creativity lacking critics)
@@justplaintara9028 yes, muggles I call those people 😂❤️
From my point of view, K3N is one of the few who truly understand Slow Stitching. It isn't just a hashtag for her.
Thank you 🙏 no it absolutely is not just a # so happy that comes across 😊
Oh oh oh how lovely! Thank you; looking forward.❤
my pleasure 😁♥️
Hello K3N. New subscriber here. I’m recuperating at home from a period of illness and I felt the need to attempt some crafting but my poorly hands wouldn’t allow me to return to crochet just yet. I’d found the concept of slow stitching on YT recently and so thought I’d give it a little go. I didn’t think that I had much fabric\scraps to work with so my Amazon cart was pretty full with felt, fat quarters, ribbons, buttons, lace etcetera just waiting for me to press “buy”. Something made me return to YT to investigate more the art of slow stitching and your beautiful channel popped up, thankfully! What a revelation. On second thoughts, I have soooooo much material that I can work with and much of it vintage or emotionally attached to me, that’s sitting in dark cupboards and not knowing what to do with it! Thank you for connecting me with the true meaning of slow stitching and I’ve started already (pair of cut-up old Levis, pyjamas, blanket and long forgotten cross stitch threads. My heart and my hands are smiling at the thought of rifling through all those dark cupboards and I’m feeling better already. Looking forward to exploring your other videos and following your channel into 2024. Thank you! Jan x 🫶🩵
Hello Jan, you have made my day. ❤️ Loving the thought of your smiling heart and hands, welcome 🤗
Thank you so v much 🫶🩵
What a nice concept! Interested in learning more from your channel. Thank you for sharing.
Welcome, hope you like it here ❤️
All of your "containers" are so yummy and beautiful! The fat round one is a stunner, inside and out. Looks like an organza type of fabric with a stitch lace-like border, made as a dresser doily or table runner. A perfect piece for your rolled journal, no matter how it began it's life :) Thank you for all you share with us in every video.
My pleasure, yes that journal cover is several layers, old flannel sheet, wool blanket and a wide piece of lace, dyed with onion skins. It's still my favourite. ❤️
@@k3n.clothtales wool, flannel and lace, yum! Where else could you use that combo really! Unique and cozy as it keeps your work safe.
You are my "go too" channel for usefull sewing projects. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, ideas, talents, and creativity with all of us. From Idaho, USA.
It is truly my pleasure, I am so pleased you enjoy my channel, it's lovely to have you here ❤️
I love your idea of making 52 weeks of a meditative little stitching piece. I will try to start now, but it may turn into 12 pieces with one piece a month for me. Thank you for your inspiration!!! I love everything you do!
You are an absolute treasure and I am so happy to have stumbled upon your lovely videos! Thank you so much.
thank you so much, and you are very welcome ♥️
Love love all of your pieces and am so happy I came across you! I look forward to the 52 weeks. Your eco dying is absolutely gorgous as well.
It is May 2024 and I am just seeing this video. I sure hope I can join this journey. Your stitching and stories are soothing. May help my anxious heart.
Hello Vera, I am so pleased you found me. Please enjoy and join in whenever and wherever you feel like doing and enjoy the process. Stitching is so calming and a wonderful way to process difficult thoughts and emotions ❤️
Same!
May 2024... Definitely going hunt out the stitch along videos
that's so true about cloth has a history, it's own 'essence'. 💚
I love that you use old fabric. I never buy new fabric for my stitching, either I use things I don’t wear anymore or I buy them in a charity store near my house. I’ve already used my mother’s old bedsheets and my grandmother’s old bedsheets and bread bag. So nice, it seems we’re giving a new life to things that belonged to our loved ones
I love your books 🧡💚💙💜❤️🤍🤎🩵💛🩷
Absolutely agree Alexandra 🥰
What an amazingly generous treat to stitch along with you and make so many wonderful items. I’m so looking forward to starting. Thank you ❤❤

Happy you found me, welcome ❤️
Wonderful!! I'm excited to have found your channel and am looking forward to learning about slow stitching.❤
Can I share a little story with you please??? I was sitting at my desk with 2 Barons cigar boxes full of Grandmas floss on the original cardboard spool templets, her needles and thimbles too!! Looking at all their beauty, it made me so sad to not know how or what I can do to use them. ( there's over 100 double spools ) I have Aunt Josephines (1863-1949 ) hand stitched quilt hanging on my living room wall and I admire it everyday. I am trying to do something to honor the ancestors with what I inherited , BUT I don't know how to slow stitch or how to do the beautiful embroidery stitches. I'm intimidated to say the least!! I pulled up my chair to my desk, clicked on U-Tube and there you were!!!!! Angel bells started ringing!!!!! My stomach flipped around with excitement when you talked about your new project for 2024. I WILL BE THERE!!! I want to thank-you for the beautiful work you do and for sharing it also the ease in which you explain things. I will be watching ALL you past posts. You made my day! and gave me something exciting to look forward to in the New Year!!!
Oh thank you so much for sharing your story it will be an honour to have you follow along next year with your Grandma's beautiful floss ❤️

Thank you, these ideas are lovely. I will be joining in, here from Arizona. Kay
Welcome Kay, I visited Arizona as a child. We went to the Grand Canyon and unfortunately it was misty so we didn't see much but I do remember driving through the beautiful Painted Desert. ❤️
I really look forward to some slow stitching 💟
I just found you, and I’m so happy! Yes, I’ll join you in 2024. You do lovely work, and I’m looking forward to learning more about how you’ve made all these beautiful items. About 20 years ago, I designed a hussif using a fat quarter so I could work on my small sewing projects at (work) lunch. It has everything I need, and I treasure it.
Thank you! I had to look up hussif, I know it as a 'housewife'. What a wonderful thing and so lovely that you still have it. ❤️
I don’t FB or Instagram but I’d absolutely LOVE to be part of this. 💕💕💕
Not a problem, delighted to have you along ❤️
Oh how exciting, love your journals and will definitely try not to miss this opportunity to create a journal with you!

Hi k3n! That little pin cushion with a French name, is very similar in shape to the Japanese otedama. Thanks for your videos!
Similar but made from different shapes 😉 all will be revealed! 😁😉❤️ And you are very welcome ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing. I can’t wait for more videos!!!!! Love your stitches!!
Thank you so much, the cloth pouch tutorial is uploading and hopefully will be online tomorrow. Very slow internet here in rural France so it takes ages. 🤭❤️
I’m enchanted. I’ll be following along.
Thank you ❤️
New subbie! I have a channel where I work with fountain pens and make recycled paper journals, so this type of stitching with old things and recycled materials is wonderful!

Oh this looks like something I would welcome into my life. I love hand-stitching but tend to tidy things away and then forget about them. Hopefully a weekly prompt would encourage me to keep going. Your voice, even with the frog, is so calming
thank you so much about my froggy voice.. 😁 yes I like the daily or weekly discipline of a project to keep me focused ♥️
