Marceau wasn't just _a_ mime, he was _the_ mime. This man was world famous for his skills of silent acting and laid the groundwork for what a mime was. So the fact that the only spoken word said in this movie is by the most famous silent man in the world would've absolutely killed it in theaters back in 1976.
