I started purging 1 1/2 years ago and have needed to keep purging throughout this entire process ...lived in my house for 13 and had many books, trophys, old clothes that I had to donate. Was bummed because I was planning at this time to sell stuff, but thanks to COVID I Didn’t think that anyone would purchase🤷🏽♀️
I have to keep coming back to this video for motivation. Been using marketplace the last 2 weeks, Yard sale this weekend and im heading down the 5th for a few interviews and to find a house for me, my wife, and 2 kids.
We are planning to move to Florida in 2 years. We have been in our house for 24 years. I just in the past week started to make a list, this was the focus....clearing clutter....I am in my mid 40s and ebay and poshmark has been great in selling my old "vintage" clothing. When it came to my cross country move, I didn't sell, donate or give away anything. I put it all on the curb with a sign, "FREE STUFF NO RETURNS". I put it out on a Thursday and what wasn't gone by Sunday night was given to Goodwill. Yard sale? Hell-a no! Not going to argue over the 25 cent price on juice pitcher.
PS just to let you know I'm paying for over 2000 a year for two storages and I'm single he explained purging to me like I said I'm homeless and have nowhere to go I can't get rid of somebody else's stuff out of my storage because it would not be right I'm an honest man and I try so much help other people and I have some belongings that long to me mother and grandmother had a friend like I said it's hard not to be so crew I mean to get your things out of my storage yes I would like to save more money but just way I'm being pushed to get rid of things out of my storage to get an apartment I'm also being pushed to get apartment I have friends when you don't have the money to do so this is where I'm stuck at and thank you for your video and God bless you all.
I just had a flashback to my Aunt that said she had her stuff in storage and paying 80 a month, for years, this was back in the 80s! Being a country gal I didn't know what rented 'storage was' but, it seems like spending money on space and putting nothing in your pocket. I give my stuff to family to deal with, and to charity, I've been hauling off stuff for years, had all my parents stuff to deal with it is burdensome, like a heavyweight. I figured when I'm dead where is this stuff going to go, to the dump most likely, so I'm giving it away.
I'm putting things in motion for my move to the Tampa Bay area. After this covid 19 stuff I really have thrown any "reserves" I may have had about moving there. Thanks for the videos
I thought I wouldn't be able to "let go" of certain items, such as things I paid a lot for in the PAST, and sentimental items. Well guess what? It was a RELIEF!! I feel I've liberated myself from the past. Old reminders gone! P.S donating that "expensive" stuff felt great!

We moved from NYC to Portland OR years ago. We're now planning our move to SE Florida. The thing that concerns me the most is how to sell some of our better furniture, antiques & collectibles.
We have 600 sq ft house not moving to Florida but mountains I'm selling my main sofa is going to stay. Toys It has to fit into a small box. Box spring are going buy buy getting 1 kid a frame that folds up. Another already have one. Going to photo scan all my pictures on my computer.

This year we are looking into moving to Florida in a year or so but decided we are not bringing anything there. We will start all over with new things. Florida is a big population of alligator that killed people so if you like that kind of thing living in Florida but don't get out of the car walking across the highway because they're they're watching you I hear stories about that and I live in Des Moines Iowa good luck to both of you two young couples it's not like you got a master plan could you book and working so hard in your lifetime to save money not all people can that's my theory my story I'm sticking to it some people have all the luck and some people don't think about that good day means see you.
I have a friend that's been trying to help me get an apartment I'm homeless and she's telling me that I need to do some purging because her husband said so to her that's what I need to do but what can I do by taking things out of a storage that I don't want to get rid of and things that are not Mine sometimes belongs to my grandmother and my mom and I have a friend has stuff in there too including mine so you tell me what should I tell the people that told his wife to tell me to do some purging you tell me what to do in this video it doesn't make no sense when you can't move nowhere but you don't have a home.? Got any answers I don't think so I can't get rid of somebody stuff that are not mine and I'm paying verb to storages and the bills or mine I was supposed to pay half 50/50 but I got stuck paying it all pay over $120 and something a month or two storages have you like you have any money left and I am on a fixed income I'm senior citizens got any ideas for me now hope to hear something from someone and this video.. If the person you are sharing this storage with isn't keeping their part of the bargain, and you have given them notice, why do you feel obligated to continue this bargain with this person. If this was my situation, I would tell them to pay up, and tell them, you are closing the storage unit, you are purging. unless you want to keep on down this road. Isn't change what you are after? As to the family heirlooms, offer them to others, and, if you get no takers, get rid of them. Maybe have someone take pictures of the items and put them on a disc or a computer. I can't advise you on that technique, I'm computer illiterate. Good luck purging and saving your money.
