  • Carp fishing former British record holder, Lee Jackson, joins Simon Pitt on episode #008 of the Thinking Tackle Podcast. Lee first came to the attention of the English carp fishing scene in 1983, when he caught an unknown 40lb from a Colne Valley Club lake. As well as this he has caught numerous large from some of the country’s most well known venues.
In 2001 Lee has his most successful fishing year EVER! He was named international carp angler of the year and won the British Carp Angling Championship. To top it all off, he achieved a six-year ambition, when he caught the fish known as ‘Two Tone’ at a British record weight of 61.7oz from Conningbrook.
In 2010 he was inducted into the Carp Fishing Hall of Fame and he has won The Carp Angling World Championship on two occasions (2011 & 2017).
Mr Jackson is an accomplished writer and author who has written multiple publications, including Just for the Record, The Quest for Two Tone and Lee Jacksons Carp Clinic: The ultimate guide to catching carp.

I hope Lee gets the feedback from these replies.
Thank you for your honesty Lee. I've struggled with alcohol for over 30yrs, and could relate to all you said.
I've been plucking up the courage to stop for a while now, and listening to you has given me the push to go to AA again.👍Thank you.

A very honest, emotional and inspiring edition of the podcast. Loved all the stories from Lee's involvement with carp fishing history fish, momentous days like the invention of the hair rig, breaking the British carp record, and winning the World Carp Classic with Tim Paisley, to the very important message about the dangers of alcohol and other drugs associated with carp fishing, which sadly is more common than we often care to admit!
