- In this video, I went offshore fishing with my buddy Jason from JC fishin' (Check out his channel here / jcfishin2021 . We went 18 miles out of Tampa Bay, Florida in 65 feet of water looking for snapper and kingfish. We were using knocker rigs and dropper rigs with live greenbacks/pilchards to target these fish on a ledge and hard bottom. We quickly learned that we were in for an EPIC day of mangrove snapper and lane snapper fishing with me catching a new PB!

It hasn’t been this calm in the northern part of the gulf in a coons age
That banshee has a nice backbone for a medium light😮
Great video!!! That was some epic action for sure! Can’t wait to get back offshore.
I caught a 16 inch and 17 inch lane snapper in 50 feet off the loran tower between Jupiter inlet and Stuart inlet.
They were hogs, I thought they were muttons until I got um up..
That was 20 years ago.
Never came close to anything that size again.
Nice fish, glad to see you calling the smaller mangos.
Great video glad you posted keep them coming thanks
lol at that net throw, good to know we all make mistakes, thanks for the vids and for keeping it real, every fish is not a monster.

I've gotten a couple requests now to do some more catch and cook videos, so there will probably be some more in the future
@@SeeYaDude awesome I know it will be good! thanks dude
Don’t say this often but man that looked fun ! Good on ya! Heck of a day fishing
My son is watching you
damn that boat is dirty AF
Great video Brent. How do you plan on cooking your catch? Will you do another catch, clean and cook video?
My favorite ways to cook snapper are either pan fried, blackened, or grilled with some lemon. I'll probably do some more catch and cook videos in the future
Noice
Awesome as always! What are you looking for wave, wind, weather wise before you head offshore? Like what’s your ideal/max conditions?
Great question, im wondering too
Ideally I want 1' waves or less, winds less than 10 mph (preferably from the east because that helps lay the waves down), and if you can get out the day before a front is usually best. I use Buoyweather.com to see wave height and offshore wind predictions
Awesome video! Was this Monday the 4th? I thought I saw you running out as I was coming in.
Where do you fish out of? Im from minnesota and usually go down to Boca Grande.
It was from last Monday the 4th, you might have saw us then
What day was this?? I haven't seen water this flat for months I'm jealous!!
This was from last Monday
What hooks were you using for those great lanes?
When you go offshore in a bayboat what do you use to communicate with if you break down? Also how many hours you get out your battery when spot lock like that ? Nice catches to!
I have a VHF radio mounted on the boat, a portable VHF radio, and an EPIRB. The trolling motor batteries usually last all day on spot lock, but really depends how hard its working with wind and currents. If it's going fast the whole time, It usually lasts about 4 hours
Was this Sunday? Saw so many boats cast netting at the bridge that day
This was from last Monday
Second comment (sorry) just curious to hear your opinion on your new Bull Bay Banshee!? Your St Croix Avid lasted a long time! Do you notice any difference between the two? Thx guys!
I have the Bolt, Sniper, and Banshee. All are great rods and def recommend. I probably use the med bolt the most.
Im definitely going to pull the trigger and get a sniper!!
What species was Clyde?
He's a big ol' remora
at 13:03, what kind of fish came up with that gag?
That was a remora that kept hanging around the boat that we named Clyde
Do u fish in Tampa bay?
I wonder too
You know you can keep 10 mangrove snapper in federal waters
