I am so glad I learned how to crochet from you, Erica! I'm 65 years old and just learning to crochet. You made this bad so easy! And I learned to weave my ends in as I go, which saved me hours of procrastination! Thanks so much for your tutorials
I just started crocheting 1 week ago and finished this bag today thanks to your tutorials!! Super simple and easy to follow, and it really is the cutest bag :) Can't wait to make more in different colours for Christmas presents! THANK YOU!!!
hello, can you please tell me, what kind of yarn do you use (sreucture)?
@@victoriatesfaye1276 I just used medium weight acrylic yarn!
Yes! A tutorial on how to make a lining for this bag would be awesome!
This has got to be the clearest tutorial ever. Thanks.
I can’t speak highly enough of this video! This was my first big crochet project, and the video was so easy to follow. Bag turned out great, thank you so much!! 🥰🧶
That is so beautiful! Your teaching method gives me encouragement to want to try crocheting. Thank you Erica.
I can't imagine any tutorial being any clearer! Can't wait to get started on this bag! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
Love granny squares! This bag is adorable!
I have just learnt to do Granny Squares thanks to videos and a great friend who has the patience of a saint. I’m going away for a break soon and wanted a project to do, this will be perfect, all I need to do is go through my stash and sort out some colours thank you so much 😊😊
Make more crochet! Love the way you hold the hook like I do. So cute! I made it in all yellow with white petals and brown center
Just finished my first ever crochet project, your lovely bag. A gift for my friend, she loved it. Thank you ❤
What a great explanation! And what a supernice result! It looked so difficult, but with your supergood advices (and very nice voice also), i learned so much! Thank you!
This crocheted tote is so pretty. Before my daughter was born, I started to crochet a granny square baby blanket with pastel coloured centres, and all around were to be white. Unfortunately I never finished them and it was so long ago I can’t remember why I didn’t. I guess I wasn’t passionate about it 🤷🏻♀️. My daughter is 41 now, and eventually I gave it all away. I wonder if it was ever finished 😏
My bonus daughter found a bag of granny squares at a garage sale today and I sent her this video. She's so excited!
@@OkcErin what is a bonus daughter? 💗
@@susanmei9980 I think from their current spouses past relationship
@@mggoats5903 oh, I see. Thank you for explaining. 🌷
I love this tutorial! It's so simple to make and the finished product is so cute and functional. I would definitely reccomend following this tutorial to make your own bag

I recently picked up knitting and crocheting and was looking for a new project… I came across your tutorial and I’m so glad I did. You’re so clear, thorough, and I love how you provide alternative options of doing things! My bag looks GORGEOUS! Huge thank you for making this video!
Yay! So glad you gave it a try!!
I’ve been making my first ever granny squares while waiting for you to publish this video. Took all my yarn on a recent road trip and I made 13! You were not kidding, they are so addicting 😂. Your tote is cuter than I imagined! 🥰
Just need to block my squares then I can put my bag together. Thank you so much for fabulous tutorials. Much love!

Oh Erica. Another easy to follow fabulous tutorial. This tutorial is super easy to follow. My daughter was only asking me to make one of these crochet bags.
I hadn’t a clue how to start . Following super easy instructions I can make this bag for her thank you.x
Such a cute bag,love it!
Great tutorial!! Can't wait to do my bag! Just love it!
This little bag turned out so pretty, there so many things a person could use it for all kinds of things carry it along with your next project. I’ll have to get my granddaughter to watch you, I know she love it.
I live to far for them to visit me. My daughter used to go visit them and she always had a bag of crafts
To teach her, she loved it. One year I went with her it was getting close to Christmas, anyway we had
Her and her brother to paint their hand and hold the Christmas bulb, so they had their hand on it and
Made a snowman with their name and date on each one, they were so cute and they take it out every year to decorate their tree ,each one has a tree in their room,to decorate. Once her learns to crochet
She’ll make all kinds of things. I really enjoy watching you.I’m sure she will love it. Thanks for sharing 👍
Another interesting video and chat! Thank you for posting this!
Just completed joining my 13 squares after blocking them. Now to start the single crochet edging before the handle. If not for your great and easy to follow tutorial, I would still be figuring out which type of bag handle to do. This, by far, suits this type of tote. Thanks so much Erica!
I made my 1st granny square watching your video and now on my way to make this bag. You are amazing teacher! Thank you for your videos.
Had so much fun making this bag!! I am so proud of myself, thanks to you!!
Wow what a cute bag!!! I must try... Thank you so much for sharing!

@EricaArndt you're just an amazing teacher. You made me learn granny square super easily. Thanks for that. Lots of Love from India ❤
Thanks you for sharing this tutorial and beautiful bag
This tutorial was so informative and well executed. Thank you for your help!
Erica, this was a fantastic video!!! I’m not a prolific crocheter, by any means, but I’ve been crocheting for over 50 years (yikes! 😬) since I was a little girl, and I’ve never seen anybody do such a clear and concise demonstration on how to crochet granny squares together!!! Ever!
I’ve actually been working on a granny square afghan recently, and I thought you were supposed to go through BOTH loops of the front and back squares. I couldn’t figure out why it looked so dopey. And it wasn’t just me! That’s how the original pattern writer did it too, and I also thought theirs didn’t look quite tight, either!
You did a better job than Lori Holt (😂) whose videos I’ve also watched recently. And not only did you do a close up on 3 techniques, but it was ever so much more helpful when you used a contrasting color to demonstrate. I think the mattress technique looks the most invisible, but is also the most time consuming and fiddly. My next fave was the crochet together method, as it was also next to invisible.
Thank you, so, so much, for doing this, as well as showing how to make this adorable tote bag. You also showed how to do the valleys, which I also never saw before and also the details of the handle, how not to twist them and the pretty scalloped edging. What a lovely little project. I now want to find and watch your granny square tutorial bc I’m sure you’ll have other helpful tip’s in there! Thank you again! 🌷
Thank you so much for you kind comment, I' so glad my video was helpful! :)
Hello Erica.. Thank you for your excellent tutorial, I have looked at a lot of tutorials on how to assemble the tote bag together & yours is by far the better of them all. Very well explained & clear video so we can see what you are doing… Thanks again..
I want to make one of these beautiful bags! Thank you!🤗
This was so easy to follow! Thanks so much!
Super cute 🥰🥰🥰 thanks for sharing.
super super brilliant...well explained..it is just fun..watching and then...doing it myself...LOOOOVE the bag... :)
Excellent instructions-one of the best ones I've seen. Beautiful finished bag.
Nearly finished my bag. Struggled a bit with the handles . Only been crocheting for a month!
Absolutely beautiful!!! A new subscriber!!! Wonderful teacher!!
I cannot thank you enough! I made a purse for my daughter thanks to you! 🥰 I am trying to do a blanket before I have elbow surgery next week now.
…you make your videos so easy to follow!! 🥰
I love these all colors, i just bought them and Subscribed you.. thanks a lot !
Really beautiful!
I am so happy I stumbled across your tutorial. I am in love with this bag. I want to commend you on your way of showing how to put this together. I feel like it is very beginner friendly (1st bag I have made) The importance of nailing this is I have started doing craft shows and I know this will be a hit. I also love how you gave different options on the sewing techniques. I am definitely going to be looking at more of your tutorials!
How cute!!
Thank you Erica for this crocheting video. You are a super teacher!! Your directions and demonstrations are spot on! I hope that you will do more crocheting videos. I also enjoy your sewing videos. I have learned so much with sewing and crocheting through your videos! Thank you again!!!
Thank you so much!
Thank you Erica. I'm definitely making this. My squares are all done. Just need to sew them together. I plan on lining the bag. I may put thin leather straps on instead of crochet.
Very beautiful I love it and need to learn granny squares
Love it!!
So pretty
You are a genius what a fantastic piece of artwork! thank you for the humble way you share your skills and talents and the way you make it feel accessible to all levels. I reckon as a home schooler your children will be in Harvard when they grow up :)
Super cute bag!! I would love a tutorial on how to add a cloth lining to this.
I’m not good at patterns, but thanks to your video I did it! Thank you!
Thelma writes: Erica, it looks absolutely beautiful, love ❤ ❤ it
LOVED this tutorial!! The only thing I did differently was to size down on the hook for the strap to give it some strength. Thanks!
Great tip!
