Great review. After deciding to go for this type of column array system because I needed a system that would fit in my car and would be as powerful as possible, I did buy 2 of these speakers a few months ago and my biggest reasons were adjustable height and power output - which meant that the only real alternative was the Evox 12, as all other similar systems don't compare in those areas. Decided on these as I understood they had a little more power and I'm very happy with them. Still need to learn the different options and settings on the DSP, but hopefully I'll get to it soon enough. Regardless, I already dj'ed a party (not wedding, so just about everyone was dancing...) for 250 people using these and had no volume issues. Love the lighting fixture trick - I'll need to get me one of those adaptors. Thanks again for the video !

Lucas, I've used the Evolve 50 for almost two years, mostly weddings, Karaoke and then there are the larger events like Law Enforcement conventions. You are spot on about it not handling the larger groups. I'm looking at replacing it with something that throws more / Deeper in the room. The Evolve 50's DIE as far as throw after about 30 feet. Don't get me wrong they sound very good for a Small room. I just needed something that carried further back in the room. At weddings with the Evolves , I had complaints (for the first time in over 40 years) that people could not hear. Just venting

@@lucaslovesyouiii lucas, thank you for the reply. I'm trying out some DB technologies es 1002 and they sound better. The room is about 150 feet long and 30 feet wide, they are doing a better job. They are a bit of a challenge to do my karaoke shows as the set up allows a lot of the bass to come back on the stage where the singers are. I will try my compact QSC sub and K12.2 and see if that works better. I'm just looking for something that can do my bigger shows without having to lug around a ton . We also host larger events for up to 500 and wanted to be able to take these and replace an order system. Had locked into the EV50M's. But I love the quality and sturdiness of the DBT units. The red led does not identify a clip, it does not exist in these systems!
The red LED simply indicates that the DSP system inside the speaker is dynamically managing the level so if the LED flashes, especially on kick or bass hits, it is quite normal.
If it stays on almost steady it means that too high a level is being applied.
The dsp will still limit the level avoiding damage to the system but once the maximum level is reached it will be useless to increase the general level again because the dsp will limit until the maximum level is obtained without distortions.
