Today I'm trying out Super Mario Odyssey Only Up. A challenge created by Binston themed after games like Only Up and Getting Over it where you have to travel up a vertical level with any mistake making you slip past all your progress. It can be very rage-inducing so I hope you enjoy the video!

Honestly, huge props to fir for not only finishing this big somehow managing to keep a smile and laugh the whole time. I probably would’ve gone through like 3 controllers
I do think that it would be easier if the background was not a solid colour, because half the time I thought Fir was way off, but then he was exactly on the jumps, like there was absolutely no good depth perception 😂

It seems like they just injected a Sand Kingdom Wall texture to prevent the player from falling when they were so close to the end.
Although if true I wonder why the Church entrances weren't blocked
You'll have to beat the level to find out ;) Jk, it's a real floor and you won't fall thru. The chapel room I was using had some stuff from the cutscene where a real trapdoor exists, so just to be safe I patched up the floor with a random object that (sand platforms) so nobody fell thru at the very end :)

This is a cool concept. It reminds me of those absurdly hard platforming parts of Super Mario Sunshine back in the day when it took F.L.U.D.D from you

Oh, this is exactly like Getting Over It. Ridiculously hard to get up, so very easy to lose it all in a single slip. If the platforms were all stationary, I think it'd be less frustrating. Very neat how it pushed the mechanics, but jeez, I don't think I'd want to go through all that, personally. Props to you for making it all the way to the end!

As someone with a fear of heights, rather than anger and impatience, playing such a game will just make me scream in fear a lot (internally or externally) lol.

Just watching the intro, this custom level reminded me of that game "Getting Over It(with Bennet Foddy)" I still laugh remembering Markiplier raging because of that game.

I'm very impressed but there are also so many times where a simple jump would have sufficed and instead you decided to go for a dive or a cap bounce or something just unnecessary 😂

I’ll admit. Bowsers Kingdom was a disappointment. As soon as I saw that Pik bird section I got excited because I thought of all the possibilities there are for that section. Only for some boring circles.
It should have been a true testament to the unique architecture of the kingdom. Like the Seasside kingdom taking advantage of every single asset. Truly representing the name Bowser. Making you fear the kingdom with every fiber of your being.
Same with Moon Kingdom. It should have taken advantage of the 0 Grav and made you change your whole play style to fit it. Making it a true challenge, and a triumph.
Just a matter of time before there was made one with smo. Great Vid!
Mario Odyssey Challenge Idea:
Mario Odyssey but every time you get a moon you do one push up (three in case of a triple moon)
