Excellent rebuild! I have a similar heeled boot but it's too tall for the ball of my foot. Can you rebuild a 2.25" heel to be a much lower heeled boot, like a 1"? In my research it seems the shank is what dictates the slope of the boot, can that be changed out? The boot I'm talking about is a vintage Frye style tall lace up boot that I added some Vibram soles to back in 1976. I just reconditioned them by a full soak and then wore them for 6 hrs while smothering them in an Australian oil paste. Turned out great, nice and soft now. But the heel height is too much as I've aged. can you help?

Is it possible to shorten a 2.5” heel on a FREEBIRD boot? I have two pairs… they are just too high for comfort--
Can you fix them with leather soles instead of rubber. Like they came from the factory..
