I finally got around to replacing my M Performance "Style" carbon fiber lip on my F30 340i. Last year, I hit a dear carcass on the highway and it ripped off the center portion of the lip.
Because I had installed it with self tapping screws, it ripped out one side and the lip dragged underneath the car. Luckily it didn't break off completely and hit someone.
This time around, I actually secured it with nuts, bolts and washers. It honestly wasn't much more work than the self tapping screws! If you're thinking about installing a lip on your car, this is the way to do it!

My sister and I are trying to redo her front lip because we used self taping screws like (90%) of the videos on CZcams and it didn’t last.
I’ve been dreading this project because there is NO ONE on CZcams with screw and bolt like you did!!!!! I just guessed to do this next but your video is reassurance we are picking the right hardware!

I've got the plastic M-sport style now and am about to revert back to just the "goofball style" but in carbon fiber. The angles I drive up and down around here daily, while also lowered, just scrape too much. Removing that centerpiece will hit a sweet spot for me. I'll likely take your advice and even bolt those on since it's pretty easy.

Broke like 4 frontlips by now, bought the 3 piece one now and I will mount it with nuts and bolts so I can remove it during winter!!

Do you feel the enhancement of high speed stability?
I don't know what bumper to choose😢 I really like M2 conversion bumper, but it's not available in my country, and the bumpers m sport and m3 are very light and rounded inwards, not outwards(
I mean, they don't make the car look more aggressive, or people just photograph them with a wide angle lens and it can't be appreciated as through a telephoto lens (

From someone who doesn't have a garage - Wouldn't it be easier to attach the corner pieces to the splitter first >> attach to the car with double sided tape >> then drill?
Should get a bigger idrive controller/knob, that little one looks a bit dated and dinky

This is wild. The f30/31 lip is plastic while the one I'm going to be getting from BMW for my F32 is carbon fiber. Just why did they not offer a genuine carbon lip for the f30s😂
Please will you demonstrate the best way to use the auto gears? I’m about to switch to a step auto 225d Msport from my beloved 123d Msport which has a manual change. We have Low Emissions Zones coming in and the 123d has s a Euro 5 diesel. Maybe you don’t have diesels so much in USA?
Hey, diesel BMW’s are not common here, although most BMW’s here are automatic now. Honestly I keep it in full auto most of the time. In full auto, the car gets better fuel economy and will even shift more precisely in sport mode. I don’t use the manual mode/ paddle shifters often.

so i have a 2016 330i m sport, i only just have the front lip but i want to get the 2 lips to go under the fog lights, would i still beable to put them on with out removing the front lip?
You’d have to take your lip off to install them because they wrap under the bumper
What tape did you use? Im having a hard time finding good adhesive for the edges of my spoiler?
It’s called “Gorilla Tape.” It’s double sided tape that can hold up to 30 lbs. you can find it at most hardware stores
Great job sir. Why is the 'Carbon Fiber' design so appealing? ... Rhetorical question. I love gloss black especially on your white BMW. anyways, I had both sides of the underskirts and rear defuser painted to match my M-Style lip color. Also, the rear two reflectors wrapped black.. :)
Thanks! At this point I could go either way, but I do like the three-dimensional texture of carbon fiber. Even if it is a bit played out these days

When I first heard of carbon fiber, I was expecting something more structurally than just a different pattern design.. BTW - I installed my very first CZcams 'BMW install video' on my F33 convertible 'string' replacement.. :) :) Not to worry though, your quality videos aren't in any jeopardy.. :)
Hey Justin. I have a 2016 340i non M Sport version so it has the regular bmw bumpers. Does anyone sell lips for the front bumper, side skirts and rear bumper?? Eventually I wanna get the M3 style bumpers but just these just for now. Thank you

Hey man. Love your channel. I am from South Africa (Our economy = doomed) Currently driving a Polo. Thinking of buying a BMW - What year model do you recommend for a E90 - don't Want ALOT of fancy expensive things. (Angel eyes and a good entertainment system (screen and usb. nothing more) Looking to buy one that is easy to work on and wont cost my whole salary. I see a lot of BMW's here with around 60/70 000 miles on it for great price. Any tips and advice please. Thanks
Hey I’d recommend a 328i or 330i (I used to have a 2006 330i). They will give you a fair amount of premium options like the angel eyes, leather seats, many of them have the nav screen - without the reliability issues of the 335i from that era. I had mine for 6 years and it was an excellent car.

@@HRCUSTOMZ. 3.0L inline 6 called the “N52”. I averaged around 24mpg with mostly city driving.

ill stick to my plastic carbon fiber style lips given that i need a new one every few months or so
I’ll probably go that route if this ever breaks again
