- The show said "Hey, what's up? I'm here to slay?" and I ask if it did, according to Ways?
Revivals are always a scary thing and when it comes to a show like Total Drama that has had such a shaky history, this is a revival that could go either way. Did they stick the landing or did they go the way of many other reboots before it.
A very late review of Total Drama 2023.

What did you think of the first of these two new seasons?
i loved it when Ripper said "it's Rippin' time!" and ripper all over the other contestants
tbh i like season 2 more of the reboot

i love both seasons of the reboot
I’m just so happy that Total Drama is back, and it’s actually good again! I loved RR when I watched, and this seems like a more faster paced story of TD with a lot of new things!
I enjoyed everything about it except the theme song
Yeah, the new song doesn't hit like the old one 🫤
That, and the amount of toilet humor jokes were my main issues. They went from “okay it’s a bit crass” to “are the writers into this or something?”

I definitely prefer the original but as I said, appreciate it from a meta perspective and honestly? It's grown on me.
The original is definitely superior but this is pretty alright.
@@scootermcpeanuts6699episode 5 and the fart fairy from Dramarama really make me raise some questions because there's a lot of *but why* with those episodes.

@@JakesoontobeJack I don't know if you've seen season 2, but Caleb comes back and is actually a genius. Zee has no idea how alliances work
@@emilyschomer6715 Oh, I should have made it clear. I was judging by season 1. If I included season 2, then yeah, Caleb is higher. I put Cakeb at the bottom for season one because he was first boot. That's also why MK isn't higher as when she was caught by Julia, she didn't seen ti have a plan to counter Julia's argument, and Milkie is high for befriending Priya to carry her to the final three. Once season two is done I will rank them and if they did worse or better.
And Zee had an idea. Was it stupid, yes, but he tried SOMETHING, unlike Julia who's strategy is just winning which is everyone's, or Lauren who didn't even try. He at least tried ti make a smart move. And if this was like the episode before than he could have gotten Ripper out.
You really made the show sound fun to watch. I'll definitely give it a watch later.
And I hope the the future of binge media doesn't kill off shows like this

It's not legally available in the US yet and no one is really sure why since according to staff the US was the first place they sent the season to. They just haven't aired it.

I know you and I were chatting as I was watching this, so you know I'm gonna sound like a broken record lol. I haven't watched Total Drama in years. The last one I watched was Revenge and the only reason I remember was because the finalist used Stark Tech to take home the gold haha.
But it's nice to know the franchise went strong with this current season despite its issues. Characters like Priya, Damian, the Hockey Bros, and Bowie would have been ones I liked if I were still a huge fan like you are. I enjoyed how articulated you were when it came to addressing the positives and the negatives. I also enjoyed your final thoughts. Here's to hoping the next season improves and continues what this season did.

I was pleasantly surprised especially since the last couple seasons of Total Drama proper have been rather lackluster. All excellent picks though. I'm glad that I came across well.

Genuinely the best one since world tour the character aren't overly annoying unless they're suppose to be and I even enjoy the theme song ( even if it's a little cringey)
Ehhhhhh, Revenge and RR are better. The newest season, however...
@@voiceunderthecovers in my opnion i don't think so most of the character weren't really enjoyable and the romance drama was super forced.
I personally enjoyed this one more with it's more interesting yet realistic character and funny conversations.

The Ridonculous Race is essentially its own show that takes place in the Total Drama Universe.
For example, would you consider every MCU movie to be a sequel to The Incredible Hulk to the point where you'd call The Avengers "Hulk 5?" No, of course not.

However, in terms of everything except for the format, you could call it season 7 & nobody would bat an eye. iirc even streaming services consider TRR the same series
