This was in the soundtrack of a not so well remembered movie with the same title, starring John Travolta and Lily Tomlyn in 1978. Travolta was very young and his character fall in love with an older sepated women, played by Tomlyn. I liked the movie, but the critics and the general public did not like it so much. But the song remains beautiful and unforgettable. Another song in this soundtrack was Sometimes When We Touch, another powerful ballad by Dan Hill.
This film epitomized the California Dream of a NJ Boy back in 1978. Now I live in LA watching shows like "Jersey Shore." The irony is ... well...*rolls eyes* and *shakes head* The other song that captures that ideal California Dream circa mid 1970s is a song called "Whispering Waves" by Donna Summer.
