It was an honor to be included to present the pride of the amazing volunteers, members, and programs at LCS, and all they do for the community. I was fortunate to be able to tour the LCS when I was in Ajijic two years ago to finish the process of my Permanent Residency. Beautiful grounds! Also what was not in the Video was the Billboard advertising all sorts of services and I believe even rentals etc.... I absolutely will become a member of LCS if I decide to move to Ajijic. They do so many great things for the local Mexican community and it's members. Plus I think the dues are extremely reasonable like 35 bucks a year or something like that. Great and informative Video! This video was created as a supplemental video to the Annual General Meeting to highlight accomplishments and the outstanding staff & volunteers. Watch tomorrow for our actual weekly vlog and we will be doing a much more well rounded tour of the property including the board and more of the grounds.

Hello.
It's my understanding that the river / lake is toxic. Are you doing anything as a group to try to mitigate that?
The Lake Chapala Society is an educational and cultural organization that focuses on programs to help individuals who live in the community. (Language, art, assimilation, resources). The name is only respresentative of it's location. It is not a conservation or ecological organization. I can understand the misinterpretation.
There are groups who serve this purpose but we are not aware of what they are. I do not know the status of the Lake, but we certainly appreciate any group who actively works to improve the environment or water quality.
