I need to send my AI on social events I don’t want to do. The only issue is that it would probably be more fun than me 😂

Reid Hoffman, one of the elusive California Forever investors who sits on the federal government’s Defense Innovation Advisory Board yet stayed quiet for years as the public in Solano County and local governments were trying to figure out who was buying land around one of the West Coast’s most important Air Force bases. Suing family farmers for $510 million in what they claim are antitrust violations. Paving over high value vernal pool habitats full of endangered and endemic species, of which 90% of these habitats no longer exist in California. Paving over grasslands for migratory waterfowl to feed on in areas where roads are literally called Goosehaven Road and Little Honker Bay Road because there is that much waterfowl. Paving over important dryland farms which use no irrigation and rangelands that protect the integrity of Solano County’s water supply, while the state of California is proposing to cut Lake Berryessa’s water supply (the major source of water for Solano County) by 75%. Proposing to build a city of 400,000 people in a county of 450,000 with no plan for water available for public review. Proposing to build a city of 400,000 on a two-lane highway with enormous traffic issues already with no promises of contributions by the investors. Just the replacement of the Rio Vista bridge was estimated at $1.2 billion dollars in 2007. That is one of three two-lane bridges from Highway 12 to I-5 and one of three two-lane bridges from Highway 12 to Highway 4. Promising to build “affordable” housing that the CEO said would be $1 million instead of the $3-4 million homes in Silicon Valley and San Francisco. All in a county where the housing supply built outpaces the state of California. Promises of jobs brought to the new community but no sign-ons by prospective employers who have committed to moving their business there. And then there’s trust. Repeated gaslighting of the voting population of Solano County by California Forever’s CEO and repeated marginalization of the opposition. A poll conducted by FM3 with an appropriate sample size for the voting population and with extremely fair questions showed 70% of the voting population would vote no on the California Forever project if the vote was today. As a 23 year-old who loves Solano County and wants to make it a better community for its people, this project would be the biggest mistake the county could make.

Lmao. Chip Act is good? First, it’s going to fail…. US chip fabs aren’t competitive and it’s a treadmill that will cost tens of billions of tax money to keep up. US doesn’t even have the skilled workers and culture to work in fabs. Second, isolating China has simply accelerated China’s determination to be self sufficient faster… all the US chip makers cannot spend as much on R&D as 30-40% of addressable market is gone/ blocked. Third, China isn’t 2 years behind in AI…. China has published more cited AI articles by academics than US already and also China has filed more AI patents already …. And good portion of US AI experts are Chinese. Collaboration for human success is critical. Isolated AI developments will create more risks ahead… just like nuclear weapons, climate change, etc. You need joint guard rails among countries, not isolation. Finally, dialogs and collaboration drive less risks of wars… less dependency on one another will lead to wars more easily. Just reality. It’s a multi polar world already. Just US refusing that it now needs to share power with more and more countries. China already announced LLMs, including Kai Fu’s 01.AI that rivals chatgpt4 yet using just a fraction of GPUs and data for training. As Kai fu stated, inference will be more important ahead as AI applications proliferate. China is ahead in building smaller LLMs as it’s lacking gpus, yet this could be a powerful route towards AGI and consume much less power. Bigger and bigger models isn’t likely the answer anyway. Lmao

Most of us have already got used to how amazing that tech is. In the future we’ll take highly advanced robots for granted and criticise them 😂
