Great video, electric power steering will be a headache in the future with high amp draw. Stalling issues while turning and voltage drop testing will be necessary. Just a weak battery I'm guessing could act really strange. Thanks man.

Had to laugh last night as my brother and I looked over his new to him 2016 Ford wondering if it was repaired decently from an accident. We were born in the 60's and handy on vehicles, we circled the engine bay for 10 minutes looking for the power steering fluid reservoir, and feeling really dumb. I can see why this exists, but prefer the old way.

I wish I had/know an Experienced Tech like you living close by... I'm having the same problem in My 15 Infiniti Q50. My whole driver side PS Module was Missing and Wires were shredded. I Pieced it back together the parts and wires best as I could. But the Electric Power Steering isn't working. I don't have the fancy Verus Diagnostic Tool to trace/monitor communication signals to see which signal is not getting where it needs to go.... Do you have any alternative suggestion on where/how to go about My case?

Hello I have a Mazda rx8 with only 40k miles and I changed the battery and now steering is a little bit stiffer when turning to the right….1 garage said I need a new rack at £900 lol i called around and a lot of people say I only need a reset from a computer…..what do you think

I’m having the same problem and am getting codes U0121 , U0131, and U1510. The ground connections are fine , I really don’t know what else to do. I’m thinking it’s a wire that broke but I don’t know what wire it would be. My car is a 2018 Chevy Malibu Ls.

I have a similar problem. The power steering assist fault comes on and my car doesn't start. Would power steering assist cause the vehicle to not start? Also if I was to replace the rack & pinion do you have an idea of how much Ford charges for the programming?

Hello, got a no electric power steering situations too, is there a way to perform these tests you did to verify the integrity of signals/communications in the wires without the Diagnostic tool you have/used?
Not as precise. You can use a multimeter but it’s just going to show any glitches on the signal. The proper way is using a oscilloscope
What about a 2008 Ford Escape with the electric power steering pump and the car is whining and the steering wheel is too loose

Hi, I just had my car at the dealership, they did a diagnostic and reset my 2012 Fusion.... I changed my tires it drove all the way home, it felt good, but the error came back, for servicetrac and service power steering. What canI do now?

Hey there stkmon. I’ve dealt with A lot of vehicles that have had wiring issues when they had engine or transmission replacement. Pinched wires were the common problems
Well it wasn’t the ignition cylinder. Steering assist fault service required light comes on. Could that be why car fail to start? 2015 Se 2.5 engine six speed automatic transmission

but the problem occurs randomly when I turn the car ON and the steering gets back normal if I turned the car off for 15 min

Wow I can't believe no one's as needed this guy. Some other places, u see a lot more help. Not talking bout guy who made vid either but to the peeps who come on. Hey buddy I’m having the same issue with my 2011 Ford fusion they said it was because of the tire sensors but I replaced them and it still doing the same was wondering where you were located at and see if you could check it out I’m down here in San Antonio Texas
Hey there Ricardo. Unfortunately I’m in the Houston area. But what issues are you having that they made you change your tire sensors
They said on a CZcams video that if you was having trouble with power steer assist fault it was because of a Tire 🛞 sensor. So I replaced all 4 of them and I’m still having the power steering assist fault on my car screen panel. What do you recommend?
Oh and now the service advantrac comes on too. 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

I had this issue for half a year. Bought a scan tool and just constantly cleared codes until I solved it. My problem was uneven worn tires. The car pulled to the right heavily which the pcsm does not like. After I got new tires, the car drove perfectly straight and After I cleared the codes, it never came back again.
So if anyone with this issue has an alignment issue, get that solved first
IS IT A POSSIBILITY THAT THE ABS MODULE IS HAVING INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS AFTER THE ACCIDENT BECAUSE LAUNCH DOES VERY WELL WITH COMMUNICATION ON FORD VEHICLES AND THAT MAY BE THE COMMUNICATION ISSUE . THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO .

I just got my oil change like 3 weeks ago and on Monday morning my power steering fault came on. Later around 230p it was fine and now the fault is back.

a sign of the quality of the owner repair is a look at the cable routing and the fact they cant even trim the end of a cable tie correctly ..... the owner has put polish on a terd ..... be careful putting your name near that car oz

Ford should cover that. They have a recall on the electric power steering assist . might wanna try them
Should fill the tire, first. Then go about repairing the other issues eithe the power steering.

I have this problem now it was a recall issue I had it fixed at sarasota ford and 17k later it goes out I blame ford for this repair not lasting long at all and now I find out there's another recall for the air bags wtf I'm pissed
Did ford fix it for free the second time? Some only update software but the recall calls for the steering rack to be replaced

@@zeusprogods9950 the recall is for the electric power steering assist. Ford is supposed to fix it free of charge. They sometimes just do the updated software software but the recall calls for the steering rack to be replaced

For what my dealer is asking to replace the entire rack, I could ship my car to you for an easier and cheaper fix!

Oz Mechanics central Ohio. Dealer is saying that the module/sensors/motor/rack is all one part and the components aren’t serviceable.

My power steering went out and to get the gear replaced at the ford dealership will be $2300 🙄
That’s about the price. That should be part, programming and labor
My went out and they are saying it’s a recall you might want to check that.
@@MariV638 yes there is recalls Nd ford should cover those repairs. Electric power steering assist is the recall they update software but actually supposed to replace the steering rack
