I think the new Squat look is to not confuse people with the Space Wolves. I really like your models but they could just as easily be space wolves with the Germanic theme.
To GW/Citadel's credit they attempted to make the LoV at least look different from what everybody's expectations of literal Space Dwarves...that said, yeah a bit more "dwarfy" aesthetics probably would have helped their identity for sales. Because they really do have amazing lore.
Glad you got the chance to do some battles featuring that terrain. It's one of the best kits they released. My son and I love setting up Space Hulks.
Being more dwarfy wouldn't save them from how expensive their big units are to buy or the limited amount of units.
I really like the way you overlay the dice over the whole screen. It's a much clearer than most dedicated 40k channels
My problem with the League models you brought is, if the Leagues have a 'Drunken Space Biker dawi' style they become indistinguishable from the Orks who have the same kind of style.

Can anyone suggest a good introductuon video to how to play this? It looks so interesting, but the rules seem kinda intimidating.
I got starter box of 40k to play with my dad. I spent a week watching videos and reading books to understand the game. (Witch was a lot of fun in itself) then spent months putting together and painting the armies. Fun but not my favorite part. Then spent 8 hours playing the first game with my dad constantly looking at rules and character sheets. Had so much fun we have played 4 times in the last year. That’s not a lot I know. But when a game that takes 8 hours to play for us Noobs takes planning and time to pull of between us two it’s pretty decent. Love the game so far. It is addictive. But in between those far spaced out games creating new models and delving into the lore is a full time hobby. First game we used a smaller table and paper towel tubes as cover. Now we have a full sized table with a Matt and vegetation along with some painted ruins. Going well.
I really love your warhammering. Would be really cool to see you play either a branching story narrative with your story telling prowess, or more competitive working your way up to a real tournament or something :).
Painting quality on the Squats is insane! Respect! Edit: Bugs are incredible too!
I like those Tyranid bases! Something about mixing the organics with the metal floor plates and sand that really works.

I feel like boarding actions was the fast and accesible 40k game I was always waiting for. After looking into KT, I wasnt interested in so I am glad GW put this game together. I dont have time to spend 3+hours playing a 2k game but im always down for boarding actions.

Joe's camera setup and reporting is much better than all the "pro" 40k channels outthere! 👍👍👍 I can easily understand what's going on on the field, watch minis from close and understand what's going on.

The bikes are supposed to have fly, not that it matters for boarding actions. Could have maybe thought about the units the models represent more when designing them but I'm glad the generic Fantasy Dwarf look appeals to you.

I stopped playing 40k like... 15 years ago still have all the models because lazy. the modes and cariations which has been added since though man they look incredlbly fun.

You forgot the seventh way to play: horde mode
Before watching it, the nids will devour and adapt but the models on both look great
so with boarding actions, is it still 9th rules or 10th datasheets?

I’d buy these figures….but I wouldn’t know the first thing about playing with board game rules. I’d just put these on display.
Try One page rules. Its free and great. Not as simple as people say either. can be as simple or as complex as you want it.

While the votan sculpts were really well done, they dont look like they fit into the 40k universe. They end up looking like AoS models designed by Blizzard. Really well painted though, dont get me wrong. The bugs look excellent!
