Whatever you do, read a translation written before the 1990s. Older translations may not be perfect, but they don't have the modern woke mindset.

Neil Gaiman's Norse Mythology tranlation is bad, and I can say it without having read it because in an interview, he said Loki could be non-binary. Old is better, not because it's better, but because you can see their bias easier and avoid our modern insanity.
