- Skip to 2:40 to see song. As a tribute to Sam Tsui, Christina Grimmie and Kurt Hugo Schneider, I decided to make a cover of their video using covering and looping with my Korg Kross. Enjoy.
It's great to see a young musician using a workstation/synth, instead of making music with a laptop, phone or tablet. I really respect you for sharing your music and inspiring others to do the same! Keep it up! ;)
Thank you so much! I love the feeling of people watching and interacting with my videos! I don't want to ask to much of you, because you've already done more than you had to,(thanks for that,) but since I've posted this video, I've come across some new editing software. My four most recent videos include much more different instruments, cleaner quality, and music videos! You cont have to, but I think you'd also be impressed with those videos. Also, don't forget to subscribe! THANK YOU!!!!
Wow you're so talented.. I can have my korg kross tomorrow.. and I think I can learn all your videos here😊😇

Hey Spencer..you just made my day! - this is unbelievably awesome bro.. How you make it so simple again..mind doing a tutorial on how to record step by step? on the korg kross? Cheers
Hey Daniel. Believe me, you made my day as well. I actually do have a video on my channel that shows you how to do what I did in this video, which you can check out. It is only for the korg kross, because that's the only keyboard I know how to use. , so I apologize if that's not what you're looking for. Also, I have been making actual MUSIC VIDEOS lately using GarageBand and iMovie, so if you would like to check those out (my most recent videos) that would be a big help. Thank you so much! Subscribe!
You inspire a lot of people spencer

Hey spencer could you post a video on how to create our own Combi's(Combination)?
You did a very good job! I have a quick question. I have the Kross and I'm guessing that when you recorded the initial sequences you had "looping" on right? but I can't figure out what buttons you are pressing to get some of the music to mute. I know the drums have a dedicated button but not sure how you did it. If you could let me know that would be really helpful!! thanks again and good luck
Thank you so much for the feedback. I will be giving this tutorial as if you knew nothing about the kross or music. Just in case.
What I was doing was under the sequence button. Press that button right after your kross is started up, and you will see a line of 16 pianos or maybe one "step" above the 16th file. Press "page plus" to bring you to the next page. There, you can use the arrow keys and dials to change what you want each track to be. For example, I want the first track to be piano, but the second one to be strings, so I would press "page plus" and the right arrow key to switch to the second track and rotate the far left dial to strings. Do this until you have all your tracks set up. Now you can set up your tempo. Click the "record button" (or the red dot) and you will hear the tempo currently set. Change the tempo to whatever you want now, and then hit the "play/stop" button (triangle/square) to stop the tempo. You will also want to quantize your notes. Press "page plus" as many times as you need to until you se a big "hi" in the top left corner of the screen. Quantizing allows you to change the placing of notes that you may have played a bit early or late. For example. In this song, I wanted notes to only be played every half of a click and any notes that maybe would be a bit early or late would be placed whatever half of a click they are closest to, so I would set my quantize from "hi" to and eighth note (a note with one line sticking out at the top) because every click is a quarter note (note with no lines sticking out). NEVER QUANTIZE TO A NOTE WITH A THREE BY IT! I don't know why, but don't. If this doesn't make sense to you, just set your quantize to a quarter note and record jibberish, and play it back. You'll see that notes are only played during the clicks, no matter when you played them at first.
Which brings me to my next part , RECORDING! Now is when I turn on the camera in the video. You will press "page minus" to get to the first page, and make sure you are on the track that you want to record (tracks one, two, etc.) and press the record button. You will hear your set tempo, and then press the record button again. Here is when you will two measures being played with the first click in every measure accented. Once two measures have gone by, you will play your recording, and press the play/stop button when you are finished. Press the "play/stop" button to play and stop your recording. If you record in a different track, you will heaR you first recording as well, just like in the video. You can record another recording on a different track, but don't record over an already recorded track, unless you want to erase the old recording.
Once you have all your recordings finished, you are going to loop. First you need to count how many measures your recording is.you can do this by pressing the "play/stop" button and looking at the measure count at the top left corner of the first page. For example, I saw that when my recording ended, the ninth measure was about to start, so the recording was eight measures. In my case, I would click loop so it has a check mark by it and change the measures next to it to "measure one through measure eight," and then it will repeat.
Last but not least, MUTING! Press "page plus" until you get to a page with play at the very top. From here, press the down arrow key once until you are on the play button. From here you can press the right/left keys to click a track, and the enter button to mute or play them.
That's it! Be sure to subscribe if you liked the content and please spread the word. Thanks!
Wow that had to be the clearest most detailed explanation I have ever received. You are very good at explaining and I think you have an excellent future in store for yourself whatever path you may take. Thank you so much. I look forward to more videos. Good Luck and congrats again on a job well done. If you have face book you should join the Kross group as they have some incredibly knowledgeable musicians there!
super
Spencer, I have one think about this keyboard, We can create a new patterns (with drums and bass) or auto-accompaniment like a bossa nova (brazilian rhythm) ? this resource is a very common in the arrangers (Casio CTK7200, Yamaha PSR S670). Thanks in advance
Great! Are you using program mode or combi or sequencer mode - can you put tutorial showing operation an keyboard...?
Yes I am. I can show you how to do it in my video, "how to record multiple tracks on a korg kross on my channel
Boy, can you tell me how to mute each instrument in real time?
