Greyhounds are faster but whippets are quicker and more agile to turn and stop. Both are gorgeous and incredibly athletic dogs! Love to see them run and have fun!
I have a greyhound and whippet and my whippet is quicker across a field but on a horse racing track (we live near one) my greyhound is quicker I adopted them from puppies aswell
The Greyhound is the 2nd fastest running animal on earth, the Whippet is the 3rd. A Greyhound has more stamina than a Whippet so eventually in the race it may catch the Whippet and even overtake it. Both dogs are lovely though ❤ they add love and cuteness to the world 😊 (and speed!)

@@liamrmorgans921 yes, but sometimes you just have to let the dog go, otherwise he would have little exercise and be nervous and aggressive, not to mention that a life spent on a leash would be worthless and the garden is not enough to run around

Whippets are probably quicker for the first 40-50 yards, after that the greyhound will take it.
exactly. whippet has faster acceleration from a stand still but the greyhound has a faster top speed

@@Twongz_does_anything I think a deer or a horse would probably still lose to a Greyhound. They are so fast!!!
Also the whippet is known for being the fastest accelerating dog breed, meaning they can go from not moving to sprinting super quickly
