Heard the Gap Band playing in Stuttgart (Germany) in the 90s. What should I say? It was one of the best concerts I‘ve ever been to. I have seen them all: Earth Wind & Fire, Kool & the Gang, James Brown, The Commodores, Trouble Funk, Kurtis Blow,, Al Jarreau (my first concert in 1981!), The Cool Notes, Whitney Houston, Public Enemy, Soul II Soul, Boo-Yaa TRIBE, Imagination, Shakatak, etc. It was an outstanding time. Whis these days back!
I love the gap band this was one of my favorite songs they use to come to my home town a lot Muncie Ind, Robert Wilson was married to my friend Brenda Wilson they shared 2 children. Those were the good day's. R.I.P Robert Wilson.

I had a great pleasure of meeting Charlie @ a Soul Train awards press conference where I worked and walked the different artists to various radio stations broadcasting live from the event. He had just dropped a solo record and I had drove all the way from L.A. to Vegas. I gave him the props he was without question due. Dude was so gracious!!!!
@FOOTENOTE I can believe that! My friend (The late Ricky Strickland of Memphis,TN.) had the pleasure of performing with these cats and he told me that they were really down to earth. He also added that the young one (talking about Robert) was the most enegetic bass player he'd ever witnessed and he never missed a note.
I gave up on the kids..real music with real changes and real melody, real instruments, (drums whats that),...hahaha...I'm glad i'm old and the kids call me out of touch and Granpa,.If it means that i get to call this music my generation (even though it was a few years before me,..I found it when it was still around)....WOW...
Well ain't no one's fault but the schools really...we're the few countries that don't really appreciate music like it used to and all the urban school systems pretty much got rid of their music programs hence less "real learning" of music.
Robert was one of the funkiest bassist period....RIP ROBERT WILSON
