When your listening to someone who's taking everything extremely seriously and talking to you like they're going to test you later you don't want to listen to them. The way Kevin masterfully dictates is a true skill and a rare trate in presenters. I admire him greatly for it. You should check out his new CZcams channel (thehistorysquad). I'm not affiliated with them or anything. I'm just a trucker from Canada (which incidentally is where Kevin lives now lol) who admires this great man.

To your question. Kevin's bow is made of yew. You're not going to find that in Nova Scotia but you are going to find an overabundance of sugar maple. It's not the best wood in the world for a bow but it's the best you'll find in NS. Make sure you seal your ends when cutting the stave though. Sugar maple tends to lose its moisture extremely fast. Good luck!

I would plan a trip to England just to hear this in person. It’s wonderful to see someone passionate about what they do for work or as hobby and you can see it come threw by the way he talks about this and you know he’s put a lot of thought into this over many years I’m sure and it’s seamless and engaging to listen to the way he engages. I love history and like the man said you won’t find much better history then English history. On a side note I can’t tell you how angry 😤 it makes me thinking about someone fire bombing that tree 🌳, What kind of tit would do such a thing? Makes no sense? That someone took the time and put the effort into it just annoys me to no end. That teee can survive for 1000 years threw wind and storms but in a single moment a man could wipe out the history of this tree as of it were never even there and think nothing of it. What joy could be got from the distraction of a thing that is literally living History. At this point in its long long history it’s become much more then just a tree and to want to destroy it with nothing to gain but the pleasure of destroying something beautiful just shows how much longer man has left to go and just the types of people that are all around us. I mean, the French were the first to recognize the USA as a country, and also sent money, supplies, and weapons to the soldiers to fight the Revolutionary War. I'm a South African living in the USA, so i don't really have a horse in this race, but i always wondered why Americans don't like the French. There were many French students when i studied in Japan, and they could all speak English and Japanese, and were some of the nicest of all the western students. And the French girls were all stunningly beautiful. I know it's a small sample size, but they were really cool.
