    This is the best video ever. I live an hour away from a shop. The end of my spool had a little knot in it so when it spun off the spool it jammed the machine. I am very handy and had seen this video before so I knew if I took the front cover off I could deal with the issue. Sure enough!. And since I was in there gave it a dusting and a couple drops of oil. Thank you so much for empowering Bernina owners!

    Jeff, I really like your videos. I have that attachment set and it works great. I didn't know how to clean that part where you took the screw off. Thanks so much!

    Again Jeff I learn plenty from your videos. Can't say I have a Bernina but your lessons are universal and you don't talk down to home maintenance people. If I was in Co I would be stopping in for sure. Thank you

    So helpful, I know the basics of how to clean my machine, but some great extra tips here! I’ve had a noisy bobbin since new on my 770 and never thought to oil the spring inside the hook, I think that’s cured it! Thanks Jeff! I need to find someone like you here in the UK so I can get a full service on my machine soon.

    Thanks, Jeff. That cool little lint thingy with the points on the end....one came with my 820QE and for 10 years it's sat in the box cuz I had NO clue what it did! Thank you for this demonstration!!! You also took some of the angst I have about removing the head cover....I absolutely HATE trying to get mine off because I'm so afraid I'll break off one of those little plastic tabs. Lot of swearing goes on when the thread breaks and in order to fix the problem I have to remove the head cover to find the broken thread. And I never was told to oil any of the parts under the head cover! Again, thanks! Linda from Maine

    Thank you so much for doing these videos. I have saved myself many trips to the dealer. I have had a couple of times where when I start to sew the material gets caught down under the
    plate that covers the feed dogs. It is like the needle pushes the material down in the needle hole. I have no idea why it does that. It is hard to get out, and THIs time I had to actually cut the material to pull it out, which left a hole in my blouse. luckily it was under the arm, and it was a small hole, so it won't be seen when I patch it. I also sometimes have trouble getting the bobbin case into the machine. Any idea what I am doing wrong to have the material pushed down into the needle hole. Also, I do love the bernina tweezer and love the oil that you sell. I think
    after watching this video I need to get the little handy hook you have. If I ever get to Grand Junction Colorado, I am going to come visit your store.

    Thank you so much for the informational videos. I need a little clarification on the wet dry vac you suggest. Your video says you are using a 2.5 yet you suggested a 1.5 in a customer answer. I am getting ready to order one to have on hand. I assume there is a range and I would choose to use the same one you have. Is the 1.5 sufficient too?

    thank you for these Great videos But most are for machines that are new - computer ones. I have a work horse 930 about 40 yrs or more old, I have never had a problem until now- the Hand Wheel is frozen, I can not afford the repair guy, can you please advise me

    What is the "red cap oil"? I have the Bernina oil pens that I use for the hook.....will that work on the inside? I live in rural British Columbia, Canada so my options for purchasing are far away. Thanks

    Very informative! Is this the same way the Bernina service technician cleans a machine or do they do other things, too?

    • @berninajeff
      @berninajeff  Před 3 lety +4

      A complete service involves over two hours of removing every cover cleaning out the old oil setting adjustments and re-oiling so I video shows only a fraction of what we do.

    Dear Jeff, how to remote the Bernina B570QE head play cover... (as in the video 06:18)? I want to oil it, because squeaks! Thanks!

    • @berninajeff
      @berninajeff  Před 3 lety

      Laszlo, the plate that has 570 on it snaps off if you push it to the left, then inside there are holes to access oiling areas use a flashlight

    Thank you for a wonderful tutorial. I have the crevice tools to attach to a vacuum, but no vacuum that easily works with them. I saw you use a small wet/dry vac in another video but could not find it. Can you tell me the brand name and other pertinent information? Thank you!

    • @berninajeff
      @berninajeff  Před 2 lety +1

      Go on Amazon or eBay look for a 1.5 gallon vac that uses 110 volts those have good power.

    What is the difference between red tip oil vs yellow tip oil?

    • @berninajeff
      @berninajeff  Před 3 lety +1

      The Yellow cap oil is general purpose sewing machine oil recommended by Bernina, the Red cap oil is lighter for the 9 hook or black bobbin system by Bernina only oil for that area
