Germany scored a massive own goal by not sending Electric Callboy to Eurovision.
Sadly the people selecting the artists for ESC don't represent what the german people want..
@@slomo3035 As I heard Electric Callboy applied once for the Eurovision Song Contest but they were rejected by the music industry guys who make the decisions. That may be the reason for why Germany almost always ends up last. When BABYMETAL started, the corporate suits of their agency rejected their project too, giving them zero budget. Fortunately we are talking about extremely talented people from both countries who worked hard to push trough.
This music video is about breaking walls between music genres, both of the bands are known for it. The suits are not interested, because that's not the safe turf that they are making money off. But when EC breaks the wall into the BM karaoke party... the girls are in it and it didn't take a second.

BABYMETAL had as much budget as most of the other Sakura Gakuin subunits to begin with.
Only Twinklestars (The Baton Club) had a bigger budget for music videos, etc, since it was fronted by Ayami Mutō, the former leader of Karen Girl's, Su's first professional singing group.
Once BABYMETAL started to generate some positive buzz, Koba presented a business plan for the group to the higher ups at Amuse, Inc.
You can take your pick now, either connections, bribery or stupidity was the reason.
And we got Hurrikan from it, simultaneously the goofiest and hardest tune recently lol.
I just saw this collaboration live at FOX_FEST in Japan. BABYMETAL invited Electric Callboy to their stage, and they performed this song together. The entire arena, full of the crowd, got lit and exploded! It was incredible to see this song live! It’s so easy to join the party! Ra Ta Ta Ta Ta!🤘🦊🤘

Yes they were in the same room recording this music video. The final scene where they are dancing together with the fireworks and everything is freaking real. There are a few "behind the scenes" videos out there.

I really love that EC, who blew up big in the past 3 years and playing bigger and bigger revenues in the whole world, are stepping back in this collab and are giving BM, who are very big in Japan, but not very well known outside, more room. BM are always on the front and EC is in the background and also BM got more singing parts. I hope, this will push their popularity in Europe.
Also can we appreciate how well SUs english singing voice evolved?

I like to joke with my German friends that this is so much better than their first Collab with Japan, but I am so happy we can all come together and have fun with what I consider America's German and Japanese brothers and sisters. Most likely they will be playing this together at FOX_FEST Festival next weekend May 25 and 26 in Japan along with many more artists and bands such Polyphia so can't wait for the live version.
The "hips don't lie" is definitely a Shakira reference.
The "Fu Fu" (or more like "wu-uh wu-uh") part sounds like Backstreet Boys - Everybody female backing chorus and also I think I heard in a K-pop song, not sure which one.
The "push it to the limit" line it could be an homage to Scarface's movie, another post disco, dance rock song with guitar elements.
Btw I thought the second "Are you ready?" chorus was MomoMetal doing the backing growling but they didn't show that, we'll see in the live version.
Love the euro trance elements mixed with metal, they also did it with Time Wave, one of my favorite BM song from latest album The Other One.
There's probably more references but I'm so far away from pop culture nowadays that i probably missing a lot more.
Next suggestion to meet another great collab they did last year:
