This was my 4th visit and this one was packed with vintage goodness. Overwhelming at times.
It's also a great place to meet fellow collectors and friends.

My eyes nearly fell out when I saw that line-up of Squid Heads with the different coloured soft goods. It's a good job I wasn't at the event because they would've ruined my bank account immediately.

Thanks Dave! 👍 Yeah the Squid lineup was impressive! I was at the event but didn't buy any Star Wars LOL partly because there's so much it's hard to choose but also the vintage stuff is quite expensive 🤘

Great playsets by Paleetoy at 5:49! That jabba's palace with the Rancor pit below looks awesome, wish we had that in the eighties. I sure like the design of these pieces. Simple materials but spot on 'vintage kenner look'. The Wampa cave and freezing chamber also look great. Looking forward to see the prototypes get released! Custom Kenner styled items like these playsets bring a fresh view on the classic Kenner line!😀
Yeah, Lee is doing a great job with the play sets. Think he's taken a smart approach by experimenting with plenty of prototypes and gathering feedback. It's great to see he now has 3 sets on sale. I bought his Action Force one which I show in a separate video. Fantastic display items. Can imagine the Jabba's palace selling really well if that was released. Good quality too!!! 👍
Great video Dave. Always enjoy your toy fair videos, but all the more having been there myself. Picked up a few vintage Star Wars items myself and enjoyed the cosplayers and catching up with everyone again. Been a whirlwind week with two events on consecutive weekends and meeting so many people for the first time. Already looking forward to next time. 👍

Looked like a fantastic Echo Dave. Some real stunning pieces there. The book cover is a great investment. I’m deffo going to look into one. I can’t believe there was a 12” Mr T figure there. 😮
Loving the book cover, it's a simple thing but it just finishes off the book and nicely protects. Definitely pick on up 👍 And yeah, Mr T was there, and I mean the 12 inch one, not Dez 🤣

This was my first Echo Base Live and it was amazing. Managed to grab some complete loose figures for my ever growing collection.

Watching that chap entomb that figure in plastic,
to be locked away forever, never to be touched, or played with again, never to have space adventures, or help a child escape into fantasy and dream;
was one of the most gently depressing things I've ever seen... it was like watching the slow crucifixion of a living butterfly, seeing it's movements slow to a halt, watching it's very nature fade away under the weight of the pins holding it's body and it's spirit down.
Though we may force these memories into cases and yearn for them to feel the way they once did, better it is to the spirit of the creature, and the soul of the jailer, to let them soar into the wind, taking our delight with it, on it's rollercoaster tumble through the air...

Your comment is the most poetic I've ever received!! 🤘 I'm with you, I'm not a big fan of graded items, however, this was interesting as GW have a new feature where you place your figures in acrylic, as the guy was doing, but they're not permanently sealed. You can take apart the box. So, they're not graded, instead you can buy the kits and do it yourself. For some figures, this could be a great way to protect them.
I'm mostly a loose collector as well. I like to touch these things, restore them etc. I feel I get to know them much better.

Always cool to see those candy semi-clear red, blue, grape, Tron figures at 4:03 . Cool General Nadine card there. Prices on the classic items is always expensive, but great condition for many of them and cool eollectibles showcase, thanks VTR!

Love those Tron figures! Have them in my own collection. It's a shame they didn't release the tank or Recognizer back in the 80s 👍 This time I was mostly browsing - it's a chance to see those higher end items, but as always, I come home with something that's not Star Wars 🤣
@@VintageToyRush Cool, yes, you have a nice collection of Tron. I did get the updated Diamond Select semi-clear red, blue, grape Tron 7" Figures exclusive to Comic Con years ago. They look awesome too.
Didn't get the newer Tron retro figures from Disneyworld's Tron Ride Gift Shop, as I think those were only sold at the park and very expensive on ebay. Thanks!

I was amazed when that chap told me £50,000 for Vlix, interesting about the boots, he also said the last that sold went for about £38,000ish. Always good to chat with you. Cool event. I think we might have an Echo base or at least a similar event over here, too. Always like to spot the non Star Wars toys at such an event. Think I saw a vintage motu Leech on card in there.

TY for putting this video together. I was Earlybird at this event and I agree it was fantastic - allowing me to pick up some choice figures and ships for the collection but also be immersed in everything Starwars Vintage including all the great sellers and buyers... a great event..

Funny enough for nostagia factor id of bought that bootleg "galaxy empire" fig for 10p 😂😂 i know what u think like WTF but back in the day when the films got re released i went to skegness and the old skool shops there were like markets and i remember buying all 4 of those bootleg figs not knowing what bootleg was i just bought anything starwars back then i was only 10 so for 10p for nostalgia and a giggle is worth it 😊

Usually, I overlay everyone's contact details on the video but this was such a quick turn-around I didn't get a chance. They didn't have sign on their stall, but when I looked closely at my footage I could see a card at the back of their table with toywars77.co.uk/ on it. I hope that's them, always worth a try. Never understood why vintage Star Wars stuff is so expensive. I went to a toy fair, hundreds of stalls and nearly every one had loads of vintage Star Wars, so its not as if its rare.
Yeah, there's stacks of vintage Star Wars out there - some items are definitely rarer and harder to find 👍
Your collection vs a Graded VLIX.....what is worth more? And if the Vlix is more, would you trade one for the other?

Twice a year - usually Apr & Oct and it's always been in the Redditch shopping centre since I've been attending 👍

@@obirobkenobi3599 There's an early bird (you get 45 mins access before everyone else) which you can buy a ticket for (search for Echo Base Live on Facebook). Honestly, I just do general admission from 10am which is free - no tickets required.

Apart from graded and carded figures, vehicles and playsets, how is there ANY money to be made from collecting Star Wars toys?
As much as there are loads of different figures, the market is absolutely saturated with Star Wars stuff, and every Toy Fair I go to is awash with figures old and new, and most sellers have 3, 4, 5 copies of the exact same toys.
I honestly can't see how some of the toys can be worth more than a few quid each, or why anyone would pay more than a few quid for them, considering how numerous and easily available they are.
It is surprising how much is asked for some of the stuff, as you say there's plenty of it. However, good condition and complete can become more difficult to find. Mind you, I've been hunting for a Blue Snag for a while and have come across plenty of them and wonder why the price is so high. They're relatively easy to find. Other stuff at the show though is definitely rarer if you take into account packaging, condition and the items themselves. 👍
£50K for a loose , graded droids figure in this day & age… that guy is deluded, no one is paying that & rightfully so £50K 😂😭😭😭
Well, apparently one went for £38K !!! It was a first shot Vlix, not the usual Glasslite version, so probably rarer than a rocket firing Boba Fett. Still, numbers I can't comprehend 👍
I used to go to school with this guy doing the video....he used to eat all the teachers chalk and spend the rest of the day farting white dust.. Should he be allowed outside unsupervised ?
