We should all be lucky we got an "album" from Jay Electronica. I've had three children and a whole family waiting on this album
Album was luke warm, not happy at all. This will not be in my top 10 or 20. Exhibit C is better than the whole entire album!
@@rainman415 the thing is I've been waiting so long that'll take anything. I like it
@@dominicrich All good! If you like it, that's great. For me I was let down by Electronica, he rapped really uninterested on more than half the tracks and talked about hardly nothing. Crazy how he has this opportunity after all these years not releasing work. Just can't take this after all these years, Jay-z featured on every song damn near makes the experience worse imo even though he outperformed Electronica on majority of the tracks. I think maybe Electronica wasn't exactly what we thought he was back then idk..
Lol
I feel cheated with this bullshit....slightly played cause it could have been done way better
How ignorant and lazy is it to say “I haven’t listened to it entirely or I don’t know yet” when giving a critique if that’s your job? Why you even speaking?
It means that he is not a real journalist, or just don’t understand the true meaning of it. Just because he was a good rapper doesn’t mean he’s good at judging other people projects.
DEONDRA he literally said his opinion shouldn’t matter but go off
DEMWAYSNYC do you even know who I’m referring to? Bc there 4 whole dudes speaking. And go off I will. 💁🏽♀️
George Washington not at all.
DEONDRA it’s called being a hater lol mad he never got this type of attention as an artist or with anything else he’s done for that matter
Joe: "I'll let yall lead" - still does 89% of the talking
Adam Ortiz because the other guys outside of Parks are scared as hell and boring
@@anotherthing9501 They need practice lol.
Savvy Lady they’re absolutely scared to speak negative about anything involving Hov
Adam Ortiz 🤣
Hes physically incapable of not having the spotlight lol
You should have called Just Blaze and asked him why he didn’t produce any records on the album. Just Blaze is a big reason why Jay Elec is here today. Produced Exhibit A and C.
Carlos Encarnacion For real, not putting JB on the album was a disservice
Carlos Encarnacion yes! Very true, I believe Shiny Suit is a Thank you to Puffy, since he left from under Diddy’s wing to Jay’s
The beats for exhibit A and C were so dope and the lyrics and bars were so perfect. I just don’t understand how he couldn’t put JB on this 🤷♂️
It’s a good album, but when Jay-Z is on all but ONE track, it’s hard to argue it’s a debut solo record for Jay Electronica
Superbattheman1 naw it’s still a debut. Stfu🤓🤷🏽♂️
And say something else I don’t like I dare you😂
@@Oxytocin_ its half a Jay Electronica album and Half a Jay Z album. It's a collaboration album
Not a solo debut
Leo Quintana I mean yeah, you can call it a debut, but it’s still hurt a little by Hov being an overwhelming presence on the record😂. Literally the first verse we hear on Jay elec’s project was Hov, not elec. when it’s the first full project you’ve put out in a DECADE, that’s something I’m gonna have mixed feelings about fam 😂
Leo Quintana we weren’t expecting Illmatic but we were expecting more Jay Elec verses. This all you got after 10 years?
I think Jay z was like look here. We need an album. How about I jump on it with you, will you do it then? Jay Electronica, Bet!
Agreed!
Hmmmm..no brainer
Thats funny..but logical...definitely make sense

Joe Budden strikes me as one of those dudes who thinks that he is smarter than he actually is🤔

You strike me as the guy who might not be capable of seeing how smart Joe Exot.. Budden really is.
Ya think
You seem like the type of person you just described
BLACK angel 23 he really do.
I think jay z literally smacked him around "where's this album!?" and Jay elec basically said "you finished it then".

He draws it on every morning
It looks CGI
Bruh it’s tripping me out
Crispy line. Photoshop lasso tool
I get Joe's point here, Jay E being absent for so long just to have Jay Z outshining you on your "debut" album, why is there a Jay Z introduction verse on a Jay Elect "debut" album
How did Jay outshine him? Which song/s? I think ya'll buggin'
Rob yea there is no way Jay E should of let Jay Z open his album! After going missing for 10 yrs... and I also agree that Jay E rhyming on this album was subpar and not what I expect from him... he left is on such A a high note that No one judges him.. and Joe right, that ain’t fair to other rappers that put out content more consistently and get picked apart for it, critiqued... He don’t wanna get critiqued so he don’t drop? Nall Jay E you can’t use that as an excuse for not dropping...
@@dugnice all of them lol
Compare the lyrics and breakdown the album song for song. Explain the outshining
Honestly, to me this felt like they started out trying to make a joint collab, “Watch The Throne” type of album, and at the last minute they decided to call it his “debut” album. I think Jay(Z) wanted Elec. to get the credit & the royalties for it, cause he’s in a space of trying to empower artists he respects. I think if they would’ve called it a “collab” album, people wouldn’t be so critical...
Some ask me "Jay, man, why come for so many years you been exempt?"
'Cause familiarity don't breed gratitude, just contempt
My question was more of: How did he get signed and wait 10 years to drop a album without being dropped from the label???
everything about this man is confusing. howd he not get dropped, why didnt he just released Act II instead of this, did he convert jay z to islam, what money is he making to travel the world and be in the positions hes in. is it money from the rothschild woman he fucked and broke up their marriage for. *how did he end up fuckin a rothschild then dipping like that* . what connections does this man have. several more questions.

Jay-Z overshadowed Electronic. Sounded more like a joint album if anything
sounded like a Jay-Z mixtape featuring Electronica
That's the only issue. Not that it was a bad album. Think a feature with Jay-z would've been enough for a DEBUT album after so much time
Exactly, if was a watch the throne meets undisputed black excellence !
No fool Brothers stick together Jay-Z on the album because he know and Jay electronic no can't nobody flow like them especially when it comes to the teachings of the most honorable Elijah Muhammad fool

I couldn’t tell if this was a Jay Electronica record, a Jay Z record, or a Farrakhan record. I didn’t know whether to diddy bop or make Salaat. I was so confused with this record.
Which direction should I face while listening to this album? 😂
😂😭🤣
This album is legendary because these artists out here are scared as hell to mention Farrakhan because of their fear of the colonizer. But Jay Electronica did a whole freaking album. 👊👊👊

Jay Electronica held his own lyrically if you understand The Nation teachings. This album was a “class is in session” moment. The fact that he has an album with the GOAT is a milestone in Hip Hop. This project wasn’t a mistake it was pure genius especially from the marketing aspect
It was THOR that had to dip out. He came back with the hammer to wreck shit.

He's way too outside the box for having set expectations or structure too.
He's always been on some art house shit.

i would agree but he made exhibit c which is a classic banger, the only problem is the production he need better production.
But maybe he should not have been washed by Jay-Z
Exactly dude.
@@mortezahesamzadeh556 art house RE music transitions from the phrase used for cinema, where movies were made to be creative, experimental, original, unique - rather than just blockbuster hits. In music I guess there is some crossover with the underground or conscious rap but basically Jay Elec is on a different level with the samples, flow & meaning. Art House cinema would be the difference between watching Sin City and Avengers: EndGame - as a quick off the top example.
He did have bars and bangers IMO but again that is all down to taste. On this album there are examples of that, but I would agree it is far from his best and he has shown far more potential in the past. Exhibit C and Eternal Sunshine... for instance. Amoung numerous other tracks, if collated, would have made for a better album. RE the waiting time it was a let down, but I'm grateful he put something out. Jay Elec is a top 5 rapper to me. For sure.
This is Cap. Hov may have been better but nobody got “Slapped Around”
U can argue a couple tracks i guess but jay elec was bodying his verses too
HonestBrotha Jay Elec sounded like a shell of himself on exhibit C. He got slapped around and his lunch money taken by Hov. Jay Elec sounded like a ghost.

Ovie grant Digbori I’m not overreacting to Jays bars. Jay Elec was so God damn shabby & rusty on this it made Jay look like a Star again. FACTS. Hov has stayed active and has evolved in sound and in consciousness constantly over the last decade. He's been extremely nimble and adaptable, and introspective while growing wealthier this entire time. Jay Elec has presumably done nothing but sat around and rapped over a few songs a year and hasn't had any artistic development. So of course comparing him to Hov would be like comparing a bicycle to a motorbike.
Curious as to what Jay Elec has been doing for the past ten years. The fact that Jay Elec is affiliate with Jay-Z and felt little to no aspiration and inspiration to continue his unique rap is disappointing.
@@97EDUB I'm also curious. He could have became a producer, he could have written a lot of books. He's been pretty much awol for the past 10 years. It's not like he was in prison.

On Snoop Doggs debutt The Lady Of Rage kicked it off. "I'm sipping on Tanqueray.…"
True. But Snoop was already a star from the chronic and the deep cover single.

Thankyou you hit it right on the nose it’s def a statement being made that’s larger then the music itself. Political, religious, explanatory def very layered project...
@@gobot581 A mans lifestyle doesnt contradict independant truth, if a crackhead tells you your shoe is untied.. you can tell them 'your a crackhead' but your shoe is still untied
go bot he’s not a Roth he was fucking one and so what again the material was more so for jay z to make the statement through jay elec. jay z has stood next to high Jewish figures in rap music for awhile but now all of a sudden you align yourself with Farrakhan? Yes jay has made 5% references in the past but the statement is made way clearer on this record. For whatever reason and some of this direction is on 444 as he’s calling dudes out but this is way more aggressive approach. Not only is jay saying I’m standing with the FOI he’s also responding to ppl within his camp (Roc nation) that showed they weren’t with him with the nfl deal with the whole civilization beinging destroyed from within bars on first song. ofcourse Jay-Z is outrapping Jay Elec on here he’s the one that has a point to prove which goes along with what the guy said. We probably would’ve never got a “solo” Jay Elec project if it wasn’t for the purpose of helping jay z say what he had to say.
It's an allegory, simple as that. I don't understand why people are missing that.
@@LeanieSigel I respect your breakdown
Joe loves to play dumb when it comes to Hov. You can’t go in on people you have no relationship with, but then keep it cute with Jay Z. Just don’t talk about him! It’s simple. But if you’re going to bring him up, be objective.
He dissed Jay numerous times.
Exactly...he gotta give him the Em treatment too
That’s real talk. Joe damn near lost his voice screaming at Drake after Views. He seems to have cooled his jets on Jay in recent years.
@@VickStarkiller because jay hasn't dropped trash albums in recent years lol.
Em, drake an jay elec....not so much..
An joe has dissed jay numerous times lol.
“I hate most of the moments” 😭😭😭
Joe Budden says he was a hater. At least he’s an honest hater
Ezekiel’s Wheel..? Hottest track
Corey Jones most definitely.
Ezekiels wheel
The never ending story
& the last track
💪🏾
Bruh that's the hottest one of there the music melody singing an everything 🔥🔥
Yesss sir
Some ppl are saying it's a kendrick lamar diss is that true???
When there is finally a dope hip hop album, it gets the most criticism. Whereas half the music coming out sounds the same and is trash.
Facts💯💯
Because hopes were too high for a guy like Jay Elec.
Well no shit. Trash hip hop doesn't get criticism because it isn't even respected enough in the first place. This album is getting critiqued because we expected more from Jay Elec.
That’s facts. Joe has co-signed on way worst albums than this...
They think the kids will like them more if they hate on the lyrical niggaz
This album was a message.
That dude with the LA hat looks like hes reading from a prompter. His eyes were even moving left to right lol.
That flux capacitor is fire... the entire album I feel they complimented each other
Facts!!!
Facts. Flux Capacitor is🔥🔥🔥🔥 lyrics and the beat.
That beat hurts my ears
💯 🔥🔥🔥
Factho
Flux capacitor is the best joint! have been playing it over and over. Son said don't tweet when I die....don't!
It's like an A-student giving a "B-" effort. Not entirely disappointed, but I know he could put out better material.
Timothy Brown perfectly stated!!!
Best comment eva!!!
This album will grow on you....if u don't like most of the track now, just give it time and u will feel it.
I think it's a dope album 💯
Andre 3000 should have had a verse on this project.
Joshua Flouse that would have been crazy!!!!!
Why?
@@ManniLive ??
Snoop Dogg wasnt the first verse you heard on Doggystyle.
L'Daialogue DiCaprio Snoop gave more verses at least
This album shouldn’t be mentioned in the same sentence as Doggystyle.
Lady of Rage
@@Kickinthescience Not the point.
What it makes it worse on Jay Elec’s album is how long it took to come out. With doggystyle, Snoop didn’t take a whole decade to release it. Elec rarely ever made a guest appearance or even a song (compared to snoop) before then, so when the first verse we hear from YOUR debut is Hov, it hits a little different
Naaa Lady of Rage started Snoops debut album
Snoop started Dre’s debut album
Busta started Missy’s debut album.
There are no traditions to starting your debut album.
I love you Joe I know this wasn’t his best work but the fact he created a moment for hip hop. He spoke to facts about what’s going on!!!!!
I never heard one of your albums may allah bless your career as a journalist
Barzzzzzzzzzzzz Big god energy!
well ur missing out. Jokes on you bud
@@TheIcemanthomas I'll go to my grave being ok with never listening to a Joe Budden album
Well you should probably check out his albums. Don’t be proud of your ignorance lol
okay jay electronics stan
I was thinking another album is coming , possibly later this year, after hearing it was a collab album.
Lady of Rage had the first verse on snoops Debut album🙃
Doctor Strange dipped joe. To calculate all the possibilities for the one that worked.
I can’t wait for y’all to try to act like Hov didn’t steal this album from Jay Elec without even trying, just cause y’all hate when they Hovenge 😂😂😂
Jay Elec held his with Jay BUT Jay really came like he felt like he had to or Jay Elec was gonna make him sound bad lol
Jay Electronica definitely had the better lyrics of the two
@@mikee3261 not even close
Hov bodies him
Big Bully X jay outshined him but it sounds like elec didn’t fully live up to his own potential
You buggin' Shawn never stole the show. He didn't even drop full verses on all the songs he's featured on. You sound like a Jay-Z fan (short for FANATIC).
"the dead will Target the jargon as gibberish while I'm in the stars Waring with Ibliss" Jay Electronica is definitely not making music for everyone
Nathaniel Turner I thought it was icarus
@@rideonparade Maybe I figured it was Ibliss being he practices Islam
Delivery, flow and his cadence was trash.....you can hear in his recording that hasn't rapped in years......his energy has wak he needed practice a few warm up records or a tape prior.....
@@dreddogg1150 Maybe but the message was delivered
@@nathanielturner7069 his pen name still strong when it comes writing lyrics....but dude forgot how to rap.....at least you agree with that part.....hopefully he doesn't take anymore breaks
I fear jay elec has missed his moment, he lost the Exhibit C level inspiration.
amb8819 facts
He definitely was not established enough to be absent for 10 years and return with the same buzz about his name. He needed something as extraordinary as the hype about his absence and that's asking a lot. Very few could pull that off.
Agreed. With the direction rap is going he clearly missed his moment.
“IIiiiiiiiii HATE this album” 😂😂😂😂😂
