No auto tune in the 70's pure talent
The Bee Gees are iconic. That’s what you call real musical talent.
Yes they are timeless!!! 🩷
Singers back then didn't need auto tune they had raw talent, their songs meant something to them
They’ve sold over 200m records
Give them the due they deserve
Back then, we really took for granted how talented they were. They were nothing short of magical.
Right!!
Totally agree, there were so much authentic talent and actual instrumentation when it came to the arrangements, back in the day, that we did take all of that for granted
Pure singer. No Auto- Tuned. No gimmicks.. no smoke and mirrors!! No nothing! Again, pure talent
There wasn’t Autotune in the 70s. This is just talent and Live vocals. This song brings back so many memories.
Amazing
This was not live. Look it up. This is the Official video. It took 27 tracks to put this together.
@@snowflakehunterthe single of 1978 was recorded with 9 sets of their voices and this was released on the album the next year. But I thought this video was the UNICEF concert they did live. Would be strange if they were lip syncing to the official track while the orchestra pretended to play their instruments.
@@davidplanet3919 this obviously is not the UNICEF version. This is an official music video. As with all official videos this was done in a studio. Multiple tracks are always done and then they blend the track together to make it sound as good as it does. Get yourself an education on how this is done. I have worked in the broadcasting industry for over 15 years and I know exactly how all of this is done. Get educated.
no, but there was manual tuning. Thats what happened in a recording studio.
Auto-tune wasn’t used until 1997. This is pure singing and song writing talent!
Pure talent. No gimmicks just voices and music. The best musical era ever.
These brothers were incredible.....and this song divinely inspired! Glad that they were around when I was young. So talented. The real deal.
Pleasure to watch your reaction to the Bee Gees 😍
Barry middle was 9yrs old twins were 6 when they start singing in unison, wow that himself is just amazing.. Their mother and father were musicians. They also have an older sister who did sing with them in their early days, but decided it wasn’t for her and 4 brother Andy Gibb but much younger than all of them became a forced to reckon with all on his own sadly, he died at 30 years old, and of course the twins have passed their sister still alive. Mother and father have passed on… rest in peace..
Amazing family of talent, every single one of them !!!
Barry has been married to the same lady for 50 years. That’s impressive as well.❤️
They wrote songs for Barbra Streisand, Dionne Warwick, Dolly Parton, Samantha Sang and many more songs through out there the people have no clue that they wrote…
I hope that Barry sees how amazing people have reacted to their gift in love especially this song has been very popular with the young folks. He has great meaning again bless you all.
Listening to them in concert was quite an experience. Great talent.
The greatest singing group of all time
So good!!
@@MaddyReactions they were born in the Isle of Man moving to Manchester before moving to Australia they have made 100's of songs for other artists too so glad you enjoyed them
I second that !!!
Sometimes, newer fans don’t realize that the “BeeGees” are 3 brothers. Maurice and Robin are twins (the shorter two). Barry, usually in the middle and taller of the three is the older brother. BeeGee’s…..or BG’s, stands for “Brothers Gibb”. Their last name is Gibb. They had another brother named Andy who passed away years ago. Sadly, Maurice and Robin have both also passed away, leaving only Barry left. This was one of the greatest performing groups of a wonderful era. You should listen to more of their very extensive library. Every song is perfectly performed. No auto tune for these guys.
You buying any of that?
@@richardlacey4923 Buying what?
Most of what you say is true. To me they are the most talented group that ever existed. However, the name Bee Gees came from the oldest brother Barry, and their Australian producers Bill Goode and Bill Gates. All with the initials B.G..
This is why I come to CZcams to learn from the experts in the field
This whole time I thought it meant bubble guts
This was done live. No editing. No autotune. No retakes. Pure talent. On top of this, all of the proceeds went to a charity of their choice.
Also, all that talent in one family. Their voices blended perfectly.
This was not live. Look it up. This is the Official video. It took 27 tracks to put this together.
That's all right, I've seen the song done live, and it sounds the same. Look it up. 😮
@@snowflakehunterYou're exactly right....nine layers of 3-part harmony!🎶
Not live.
@@joepinkley3109 So the only "Live" version from this era I can find is the 1979 UNICEF performance that is clearly a studio track, not live. I saw them live in '79 at Riverfront Coliseum in Cincinnati, yes the same one that had the Who concert deaths 3 months after the Bee Gees concert. This song live did not sound the same as this studio track. You could clearly tell the vocal layering was not there.
Yes Maddy, Absolutely NO-AUTO TUNE!!!
Amazing!!
It’s not possible to auto tune two different vibratos and a constant. It would flatten it out completely. These guys were once in a lifetime singers and songwriters. Glad young people are enjoying it so much!
The First commercial use of Auto-Tune was by Cher in 1998, just for the record. About 20 years after this perforemance! This was sheer talent...
Auto tune didn’t exist back then. In those days if you didn’t have talent you weren’t allowed anywhere near a mic. What a shame that music today is in the state it’s in. Yes there are some amazing artists today like Chris Stapleton, Aurora, Gary Clark Jr etc but overall music today can’t touch the music back then.
@@Ray1969.I actually think auto tune is the worst thing to ever happen to the music industry; and especially live music. Since few of the singers today can stay on pitch live they started to add more and more choreography to live shows. Now they're more akin to musical theater than just music. Such a shame but I guess that's now what concertgoers want to see.
Kathy here, I am 68 years old, and it brings a smile to my face to see the younger generation discover the music my generation grew up with. Thanks for the review and check out more of their songs. And yes, no auto tune with these brothers. They started singing together when the youngest brother was like 3! They honed their craft from a very young age. Awesome and will never be dupicated.
Hugs 🤗
Eternos... Tem um DVD deles em 79 especial Tv 79 que é ótimo e sim ao vivo eles era melhores...
Loved the reaction. You've just heard the greatest 3 part harmony in human history. Quincy Jones said, " those 3 brothers, singing together, have an instrument no one else has"
So true!!
Yeah no autotune for BeeGees, their singing was waaaaay before autotune was even invented! Just pure, natural talent!
This is NOT autotune. Wasn't even around then. They are three brothers singing falsetto-a method of voice production used by male singers, especially tenors, to sing notes higher than their normal range. :) I grew up in the 70s and took this wonderful band for granted. They are MAGICAL! Thank you, Bee Gees!
No auto tune for these guys, they were a phenomenon and their music stands the test of time.
I grew up listening to bee gees in the 70s and 80s. My father was a big fan. My father passed away in 1990 and every time I hear BeeGees reminds me of listening to them with him. Great music. Side note: new to your channel and you’re beautiful.
All 4 are talented Andy, Robin, Barry and Maurice.
No autotune, just pre talent, one take, one microphone ! Who could today ?
No auto tune back in the day. Just real singers ❤️
I don't think I've heard anybody say they hate listening to the bee gees ever, they're a great Aussie success story!
So amazing
@@MaddyReactions Their actually British…no auto tune - however, vocal stacking were used in this performance . It was their tight high falsetto harmonies that had millions in a choke hold. Checkout “HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE” another massive, smooth R&B hit by them.
@@gavinmcleod7446Nah, we'll claim them mate. :) They formed the Bee Gees in Queensland, Australia - so they're ours. We might loan them to the UK every second weekend if they promise not to whinge too much about the Ashes.
@@TheNotedHeroGood one.
@@TheNotedHero Would’ve had no international success had they stayed in Australia and not returned to the UK 🇬🇧 - your music scene was too backward and immature according to Barry. Their British first and foremost and more American than they are Australian….had massive success in the USA 🇺🇸 where Barry has lived for more than 40 yrs . If you convicts aren’t ball tampering you’re being unsportsmanlike with your stumping’s… when does it end with you lot.🤣
Pure Raw Talent...
Not those Self Proclaimed Superstars with their Computer Voices nowadays....
Just Three Immaculate Voices and a Topclass Bunch of Musicians
To know for all those who didn't know because I was on this shoot at the time and Travolta almost didn't make the film because 1 month before the shoot he had just lost his girlfriend in an accident and was still very affected and he wanted to make the film as a tribute to her...(and even if there were difficult filming conditions because he was already a star in New York at the time because he was in a TV series filmed there popular, that's why we were filming in the street at 4-5am because too many people came to see the filming).. here's some cool information to know...
Noma'am...no auto tune anywhere on this one, darlin'. Real instruments, too. No computer/digital anything back in the day. Just pure talent.
You can never go wrong with The Bee Gees🕺🏽💃🏻
Definitely!
This when genuine talent was rewarded. No gimmcks(way before auto tune)., just pure talent,
Guinness World Records lists Gibb as the second highest-grossing songwriter in history behind McCartney. Gibb's career spans more than 60 years. He and his brothers were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1994. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 as a member of the Bee Gees. They are the only group in pop history to have written, produced and recorded six consecutive #1 hits. They also had 16 Grammy nominations and nine Grammy wins.
They cranked these hits out like nobody's business. This type of music was the radio 24/7. They had a Top 40 radio program on every Sunday morning and these guys were all over it. Better times for sure! We were spoiled!
Barry's exquisite FALSETTO always weakens knees.....
If only his pants weren't so tight.... the world would have missed out on this.
When you put together hard work and this kind of talent you get perfection.
I’ve got chills, they’re multiplying.
Maddy is so intelligent and sensitive. She recognizes beauty!❤

Some of the best songwriters in history. Not only for their own performance but massive hits for the likes of Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand, Diana Ross, Dion Warwick, Dolly Parton... I think Barry still holds the record for consecutive #1 songs. Michael Jackson loved to hang out and write with Barry. Old footage recently released.
No auto tune back then. Just pure talent.
Magnificent
I'm pretty sure that these brothers were from another planet. Keep on keeping on, young Lady.
70's, no autotune, this is the real thing!!!
They got that falsetto singing and used the orchestra like the Beatles. It was absolutly great.
Good music never dies. The Bee Gees are gorgeous. So much good music. Lovely greets from Germany.
Definitely
No autotuned crap. Just pure talent!
They have a ton of iconic hits that you have probably heard before. They are one of the highest selling artists of all time. They are brothers.
I believe it!!
Brothers Gibb - Bee Gees
I got a Bee Gees Greatest Hits album for Christmas when I was ten years old. I've still got it now. Great reaction. These reactions help people find these gems.
I was a little child but grew up on these guys. Little did we know just how special music was back then. Beautiful girl.
Awesome
20 Years before Autotune, so real voices. The Bee Gees had hits in the 60’s 70’s 80’s 90’s and 2000’s and not only for themselves. They wrote songs for most of the top artists such as Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, Elvis, Barbara Streisand, Diana Ross, Olivia Newton-John, Yvonne Elliman, Tavares, Frankie Valli, Jimmy Ruffin and Dionne Warwick to name but a few. They wrote over 1,000 songs, are in the Songwriters Hall of Fame and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
You are correct it was in the late 70’s and early 80’s when the country was happy😥
What beautiful musicians that their harmonies can never be duplicated
🤍🤍🤍
Yes they can really sing and they have many voices. No band can duplicate them they was one of a kind bands. They had beautiful genes and voices. I love Mo, Robin and Barry. Plus I love their youngest brother Andy Gibb. All 4 guys had those beautiful genes and everything that came with it.
The Bee Gees had an amazing career--reinventing their style two or three times. Most people remember them as a pillar of the Disco genre, especially their soundtrack for the blockbuster movie "Saturday Night Fever!"
Ooooh! I love disco!
@@MaddyReactions Then you're already familiar with "Staying Alive"...but have you ever seen the official video of the Bee Gees performing it? czcams.com/video/fNFzfwLM72c/video.html Also from the disco era, you are probably familiar with ABBA -- but have you seen their performance of top hit "Dancing Queen" ( czcams.com/video/xFrGuyw1V8s/video.html )?
Bee Gee's owned 1977 School dances all over! Platform shoes, flared slacks, and silk shirts wide open at the collar. Was a lifetime ago, and I remember it well! 😍
There was no autotune when the Brothers Gibb recorded this in the 70s. You had to have real talent back in those days. From left to right, they are Robin, Barry & Maurice. Robin and Maurice were fraternal twins, both deceased now, as is a younger brother, Andy. Andy was invited to join the Bee Gees, but opted for a solo career, which turned out nicely. He passed away at a very young age. Barry, the oldest, is the only one still with us. They charted songs from the 1960s-1990s. Incredibly talented brothers.
yeah I remember Andy was on US Music show in the 70s
The Bee Gees encouraged Andy to have a successful solo career and he was planning to join the Bee Gees but died before that could happen. The Bee Gees wrote and backed up several of Andy's songs.
I'm from New York city. Oh and yes thats there voices.
I am 60yrs old and I grew up listening to the Bee Gees. They are all brothers. The two on the ends are twins, Robin on the left and Maurice, Barry is in the middle. He's the oldest. I have a great song for reaction to. Barry Gibb and Barbara Streisand and the song is called "Guilty"
Ladies & Gentlemen...the greatest harmony group of ALL TIME....THE BEE GEES.
💯💯
No auto tune no voice over no lip syncing !! Raw talent ! They harmonized so good they sound like one person ! 19 number 1 hits ! Read that again !! 19 !! Check out the early stuff words , Gotta get a message to you, I started a joke, run to me, to love somebody, Massachusetts, I could go on and on ! These guys were unbelievable
9 NINE NUEN NIO 9 number 1s according to billboard
They was the top 10 with there song to there are the best singer
For whom the bell tolls is a good song for you to hear. It was them about 20 years after this song. Their music is timeless.
These men are legends, My father always used to listen to them and I as a kid never understood the talent these men had instead I laughed but now wow man I got shivers down my spine from this music.
Really enjoyed your reaction. Bee Gees - best "feel good" music ever written. 👍
“They Can Sing!” 😂❤❤

A 70s classic for sure, time to put on our platform shoe's and start slow dancing! !😆😊❤
Platforms are in again!!!
In a Studio in 1978. The Wonderful Ber Gee Brothers. Thanks for the memories
I grew up with this great group. Love their early music especially 60's-70's. Some of their early hits were "New York Mining Disaster 1941", "To Love Somebody", "Holiday", "Massachusetts", "World", "And The Sun Will Shine", "Really & Sincerely", "Words", "The Singer Sang His Song", "I've Gotta Get A Message To You", "Lonely Days", "I Started A Joke", "Melody Fair", "First of May", "Give Your Best", "Lamplight" etc.
So amazing
Yes, those are their pre-disco and pre-falsetto hits. Whole different style from their later work. Worth a listen.
This song was recorded in 1978, so Barry is singing falsetto, but I wouldn't say it's a part of the disco trend.
@@DougRayPhillips I would say this was at the VERY beginning of the disco genre.
@@Spazzmatazzz Well, the movie Saturday Night Fever and the soundtrack album (which is mostly Bee Gees) came out in '77. Barry had been doing some falsetto even prior to that. This is in the thick of that era. I'm just saying I wouldn't define this particular song as Disco.
Fanny too
I always just loved how Robin stood there with his hands on his hips with his cheeky smile. Seriously, how much talent did these brothers have. They are one of the greatest singers/songwriters of all time 😀
Great reaction as always. You are correct, no auto tune. Auto Tune was invented in 1997, the Bee Gee's recorded this song in 1978.
Even if auto tune had been available when this song was recorded, they wouldn't have needed it. You just can't improve on perfection.
What beautiful memories! My goodness, what beautiful music the Beegees produced! An emotional trip down memory lane. 😢
Aww hug 🤗
No autotune just pure talent ❤
This song like the other from the super cult film Saturday Night Fever its 1977 ok cool.... and this song was with the orchestra of 100 musicians a wow sound... what a beautiful memory... kissss..
They have been singing together since they were small children.
So awesome!
Still one brother alive and he's about 70, still with his high-school love, 😊
These Brother's were so good, I remember when I was a little kid listening to their songs from the 60's on my transistor radio!
Auto Tune didn't exist in 1978 so yes this is their real voices.
In the day, I came from a Country music background and many country fans and many hard core rockers would belittle the Bee Gees music (seems laugable now that we all did this) - many held a grudge for their influence in popularizing Disco - but as I have aged and seen changes in music and now free of gendre lock-in, I am amazed by the Bee Gees! I think this song could be one of their best. Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb wrote this track with "Tragedy" in an afternoon off from the making the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band movie! Amazing talent! They wrote Islands in the Stream! Which ws a big cross over hit for Dolly Parton w Kenny Rogers - and their talent in force from the 60s thru 70's into 80's was undeniable - Its great to sit down now and listen to them and be in wonder of how good we had it as far as music is concerned back in the day - we had been spoiled ;-)
Yes this was long long before auto-tune was even an idea, they were just insanely talented and so perfectly in sync with each other, almost like one person just split into three.
Awww im so glad you appreciated that amazing display of vocal talent and beautiful harmonies, im 51 and I say a good song is a good song whoever sings it, but for someone young like yourself to get chills from this song shows this song speaks to people of all ages, it is undoubtedly my favourite song of theirs and one of my all time favourite songs, just great lyrics and faultless vocals ❤️
"They can sing!!" 😂😂😂 you damn right they can sing! Lol
I first saw the BeeGees on the '60's Australian TV Show, Brian Henderson's Bandstand. They had their first number one hit in Australia, then took off for international acclaim virtually launching the Disco era. These guys wrote around a thousand songs. So many great hits. Thanks for your reaction Maddy. Cheers from Sydney.
bee gees love you inside out
Auto-tune did not exist back then. Just pure talent.
No Autotune. Was not around back then. Recorded live, 3 brothers on a single mike. Pure talent. Period
No autotune but also not recorded live - The process of recording "Too Much Heaven" was excessive and included 27 vocal tracks: Barry on falsetto lead 3 times, falsetto high harmony 3 times, and falsetto low harmony 3 times; Barry on natural voice lead 3 times, high harmony 3 times, and low harmony 3 times; Barry, Robin and Maurice together on lead 3 times, high harmony 3 times, and low harmony 3 times. The recording of this track was longer than any other on the album. The recording included the horn section of the band Chicago.
This song by the Bee Gees was released in 1978 ... FYI
Welcome to the BEEGEE family and loved your reaction to this amazing trio
An amazing british group. They were born on the Isle of man and then moved to Manchester uk until the late 50s then their parents moved to Queensland in Australia. Then the group decided to move to the USA and thats when things started to change for them and had hit after hit. So many hits over the decades not just for them but writing songs for lots of well known singers.
Oh wow!
We Aussies have claimed them as our own!
@@RushiAntonGood move
@@RushiAnton lol that's up to you but they are still british so never mind 😁

They gifted the song to Unicef and it's made around 20 to 30m so far. There's a version of them doing it live for the unicef concert, I believe. Serious talents and their younger brother too.
The Bee Gees were a main part of the disco era, back when we used to all go rollerskating! ❤And by the way, they didn’t really use autotune in the 70s and 80s, that was pure singing!
I love disco!!
999 songs to go. No autotune. 3 English Brothers. Deep rabbit hole. Suggest next How Deep is your Love, More than a Woman, Love you inside and out, Love so Right, Nights on Broadway, Fanny be tender with my love, Jive Talking and, of course, Staying Alive...that's just a few from the 70s in a 40 year career. Just came across your channel by accident, but happy that I did. First, good luck to you and the channel.
Now, regarding the Bee Gees ... you likely have heard some of their hits but may not have known it was them singing. Some other comments below mine have already mentioned several of their tracks. These guys were one of the biggest bands in the 70s. Barry Gibb (the main singer there in the center) is the king of falsetto. I wouldn't be surprised if he is the "standard" people compare that vocal tone against ... or at least one of them.
You are correct, no auto tune. That didn't exist until ... like the late 90s? Early 2000s? This is just raw, pure talent. Oh, and another thing you should go back and watch it again. You will see that all three of these guys are just relaxed singing the song. Barry was like swag personified in his day. Him just rocking to the music, thumbs in his bell bottoms and then casually leaning forward to sing. I mean, come on.
Anyway, I wish you nothing but success!
🤍
Bee Gees is the most iconic group… world wide known for the music and their vocal instruments… I can’t believe there is only 1 left
Barry oldest brother lead singer
Maurice on right and Robin on left are twins they also have a younger brother Andy who had a solo career.
They became huge with “Stayin Alive”
In the Movie Saturday Night Fever.
"They can SING!". Yes they could! The incredible Brothers Gibb, showing off their AUTHENTIC natural talent. Thanks for your reaction.
This is pure talent. Please react to more of their hits. There is a plethora of songs to choose from. This was recorded to support UNICEF, which is a children’s support organization. They donated all proceeds to this cause. So far it has made over $10 million dollars for the charity.
This was from the mid 1970's for the Saturday Night Fever film starring John Travolta. In this video are the Gibb Brothers. The one in the middle is Barry (the oldest) and the two on his sides are (L) Robin and his twin Maurice. There was a fourth brother Andy who passed in 1988.
This performance took place around 1979. Auto-Tune was introduced around 1997. Enough said..
I got to see them in concert in 1979 during their Tragedy Tour. A group of us went. I was in the 8th grade. It was an amazing concert. Their younger brother Andy Gibb actually was there and he sang one song with them.
Can't believe you've not heard the BeeGees before, but you are in for a treat, seeing you initial reaction in the first seconds!!
Truth be told, Maddy... I was always a Rock & Roller from all the way back in the early 1970s. There were Musical Performers I liked who were considered ( Lite Rock and Easy Listening.) But never voiced my opinion to any of my friends who scoffed at my preference for Easy Listening music. This was one of those performances I always kept to myself and never brought up in conversation with anyone, but Barry Gibb and his brothers, really knocked this 1978 performance,
" Out Of The Park."
Yes, go down this rabbit hole.
Go all the way back to their early music in the pre disco years.
@MaddyReactions No auto-tune no back wood tricks just straight up talent from the Bee Gees. Sadly though, the youngest brother Andy Gibb a great solo artist in his own right but not in the Bee Gees group, passed away in 1988 first then his older brother Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gess passed away in 2003 then his paternal twin brother Robin Gibb passed away in 2012 leaving only Barry Gibb the lead singer of the Bee Gees. Great everlasting music from an extremely talented family.
Grew up listening to the beegees, theyre legends. Love your face when you first heard them😊
