    I’m glad you guys are making these vids. Now I don’t have to search tons of websites to find answers.

    I love these species profiles George👍 It's really nice to learn the names (pronounced correctly ...There's no telling how I'm going to pronounce something😂) and the knowledge you share about the characteristics and some history on the plants available from a great company like Tropica. It's so interesting, helpful, and i really appreciate your experience.I still haven't put in CO2 yet but, I am definitely enjoying the process of learning all aspects of aquascaping and having a resource to reference to when I finally do get the chance to take my aquascapes to the next level!🤞🙏🐟🌱🌿Thanks CZcams for making a way for me to actually talk to and watch some what I consider "Stars"🤩and "Greats"of the aquascaping world 🌍💪🐟🌱🌿❤️

    As others have said, this is one of my favorite plants. Amazing texture, vibrant bright green, and easily propagated (under the right conditions). Great mid-foreground plant. So much fun to grow, and adds such a unique dynamic to any aquascape. Great video!

      Don't you love that color? The only other plant in my tank that was brighter green was my riccia moss carpet.

    Next scape I’ll be using these as feature plants near the foreground. Love their ‘star’ look. 💚

    Tropica fertilizer primium should add daily? Or when water change time?

    I’ve got this plant on the basis of your video as a unique foreground feature and it’s growing great under moderate lighting plus CO2, and in gravel with Tropica soil substrate plus Tropica premium fertiliser. If anything it is starting to grow more than I anticipated. How do I go about trimming it back?

    • @TropicaAquariumPlants
      @TropicaAquariumPlants  Před 3 lety +2

      Good question Philip. If you use some sharp scissors you can actually cut entire rosettes (that can turn into beautiful new plants). You could technically trim it like you'd trim a carpet but it wouldn't look very appealing.

    • @philiptata3607
      @philiptata3607 Před 3 lety

      Thank you for the reply. That’s helpful. I assume that I trim the rosette at its base. I will not be putting it up, as I don’t wish to disturb the Tropica soil substrate. In fact, my aquarium needs holding back as all the Tropica plants are growing ‘gangbusters’! As an aside, I have had more success with the Tropica substrate than with Tropica soil. Does the soil leach nutrients into the water column? (Of course, it may simply be because I switched over to Tropica premium fertiliser that I have had good plant growth and little if any algae.) Please keep up with these excellent plant video guides.

    What exactly is creating the strong flow in this tank?

    During these plant reviews it would be useful if you very briefly showed how to best trim a mature plant of the species.

    • @scrapironfish
      @scrapironfish Před 4 lety +1

      As far as this plant, It didnt require trimming. Only thing I trimmed, were the offshoots for propagating. These plants get to a certain height and for the most part maintain that height.

    I have Pogostemon Helferi in one of my tanks and the new growth after i added CO2 has really bright white leaves, why is that?

    • @TropicaAquariumPlants
      @TropicaAquariumPlants  Před rokem +1

      Hi, It almost sounds like it lacks nutrients if the leaves are losing color. Either that or you've stumbled upon a totally new variety of helferi.

      @@TropicaAquariumPlants The scape is about three months old, and ive got a layer of ADA amazonia V2 under the sand + some API root tabs, so i doubt it to be nutrient deficiency, could it be the minerals in my tapwater that makes it another colour? This is wierd but also fascinating.

    I've bought 2 different batches of the 1-2 grow and both have melted heavily in my plant and a couple weeks later some come back alive. Is this normal for the plant as it doesn't happen with any other of my plants from the 1-2 range?

    • @TropicaAquariumPlants
      @TropicaAquariumPlants  Před 3 lety

      Hi Taher. Some plants tend to be "reborn" as they adapt to living underwater; nothing to worry about.

    • @scrapironfish
      @scrapironfish Před 4 lety

      I'm not the poster of this video, but I have alot experience with this plant. However he did mention that you can grow it without Co2, but it will be leggy and not as compact. (I grew this plant in a high tech tank, with Co2, high lighting, and dosed ferts.)
