    Something worth noting is that the minimum effective dose of caffeine is actually super low. Meaning the "reasons" you may want caffeine for fighting fatigue, improving focus, improving exercise endurance, etc., can be had for as low as 15-20 mg of caffeine. An average Starbucks coffee puts you at approximately 150 mg, and it only goes up from there, with the largest coffees containing in excess of 300 mg. Everyone's body chemistry is different, and some people can tolerate high levels of caffeine, but they are definitely the exception. Most people would do well to stick to caffeinated beverages like tea or cacao, which sit around 50 mg or less, or things like chocolate, which have trace amounts of caffeine. Coffee is really the emergency dose of caffeine for when you absolutely need an adrenaline rush to keep you awake, which is why you shouldn't be consuming it every day. If you dig the taste, either go for the smallest serving size available or switch to decaf.

    I quit coffee when I found out i have the slow COMT met/met genotype. People with slow COMT get to much dopamine in their prefrontal cortex if they drink coffee. I enjoyed coffee but I don't miss it now

    I stop to drink coffee about 25 days ago, my experience is that my anxiety is lower for about 80% i replace coffee with tea. This is one of the best decision which i ever make in my entire life, thanks God.
    I am also happy that you are still coffe-free, i wish you all the best, nothing is important as our health, we don't need to face anxiety, we chose freedom.

    as to question #3, in addition to decaf, you might consider drinking herbal coffee like Teeccino it's not made from coffee beans, it's just herbs

    I think if you have weak adrenal glands, it's actually possible for coffee to cause weight gain. That is because it spikes cortisol, and cortisol causes weight gain. I am testing this theory out right now as I have just cut down from 2 cups to 1 cup a day. I feel SO much better already. My diet is super clean, I exercise daily and I only eat 2 meals a day, yet I have that "adrenal" body type - weight around the middle. I am curious to see whether quitting altogether shifts that pesky weight around my middle.

      Try carnivore or super low carb keto for a couple weeks (less than 20g a day, with zero carbs being optimal). It will take the weight off, guaranteed. You cannot overeat on beef, salmon, sardines or eggs. Impossible. There's no need to count calories because you cannot physically over-eat these foods.
      You need to give it a 2 week trial run because it takes your body at least 7 days just to adapt to it. If you only try it a day or 2 it's not going to work. Also consider OMAD (one meal a day) as well long as you're not pregnant or something. Fasting increases autophagy and focus.
      I think Dr. Boz has a sardine diet to get you into keto where you eat only sardines for the first 3 days. That gets your body used to using fats as energy rather than sugars as energy. And after that you can get into a more "normal" keto/carnivore diet . It takes some getting used to at first, especially if you're addicted to sugar and other foods that have hidden sugars (rice, bread, grains, fruits, etc). You're probably still having carbs or messed up your insulin from having too many carbs throughout your life. Carbs spike insulin and make you feel hungry more often.

      @@uneloutreaparis7669 I stuck to it and did finally shift the weight. A couple of times I had 2 cups of coffee in a day and looked and felt depleted. When I have only one I am fine. The intermittent fasting is also essential for me. If I eat later than 5pm I quickly start gaining weight again.

    It's been two or three weeks since I've cut back. I do decaf and half-caff (I sometimes mix my own with regular and decaf). I want to migrate to chia tea and get rid of caffeine cola. I feel better, less anxious and grumpy, but feel I am in slow motion.

      Briefly, it's beautiful here, lots of outdoor activities, and it's a free democratic nation, eating vegan is not super easy but also not impossible here.

    Hi,love this video.I drink 4 to 5 k cup coffee ☕️ a day but it’s triggering migraines.I have to switch to tea because I’m taking too much Advil and Tylenol for the headaches.how would you recommend I switch to black tea if I’m at wit’s end and I’m impatient? Please suggest a method of switching from 3 to 5 coffee k cups per day to 4 cups of black tea please?The doctors just say do it slow that all they say.thank you you are beautiful

    • @StephSunshine
      @StephSunshine  Před rokem +1

      Hi! Usually when people switch gradually they will start with: 3 cups coffee, 1 cup black tea. Maybe do that for a week or so, then switch to 2 cups of each. And continue until you've fully switched to tea instead of coffee. If you're not sure about your doctor's recommendations, I would definitely ask them to clarify. Hope that helps and you are feeling better soon! ☺️

    You should make a distinction between quitting "coffee" and quitting "caffeine". Some people do not get their caffeine from coffee but from pre-workouts or red bulls or pills.

      Hi! I'm not sure I understand what you mean... I didn't quit caffeine entirely because I do still consume chocolate, for example. Can you let me know what part needs to be more clear?
