As a moderate, things were changing for the better in the 90's and early 2000's. Gradually. People were becoming more accepting and inclusive on their own. Now it is all just a circus. The insane are running the asylum.

It's about keeping the false narrative alive (racism, misogyny, bigotry, etc.) to make money off legacy activism. Race baiters etc. There was a time this was about making a real and positive change, now it’s about crying victim for as much cash and power as possible. @@BishopWalters12 What I miss is how low the crime rates went down. Yes we turned into a nation that incarcerates a lot of people, but those people were habitual criminals. Crime rates went down drastically with 3 strikes laws. Everything just felt so much safer back then. I should also credit the Brady Bill and the Assault Weapons ban with helping decrease those crime rates.
Now Democrats just want to let crime go rampant and not hold anyone accountable.

It's probably just challenging to form (officially written?) apologies for something neither side of the present government had any role in. Who would do it? Would it require unison consensus? Etc.

But yes, if some form of declaration would actually quell concerns, it could be looked at. Most civil rights activists say it would have no impact. Thus there's no burning need in the eyes of many.

Yesterday, I posted a comment on the site Nextdoor, criticizing Multnomah County, here in Oregon, for plans to provide free pipes, tin foil, and straws to Fentanyl users. The idea is to get people to stop using needles, and that pipes are "safer". The mayor of Portland finds this to be ridiculous. I agree with him. I stated that passing out free drug paraphernalia would attract drug users to Portland, where we already have a massive problem. I said it is a bandaid, and not a solution to a growing crisis. The result? I was suspended from the site. The reason? Discrimination. What??? Against who? It seems, I hurt someone's feelings because I had a contrary view to an action. Apparently, any opinion that may be upsetting, is enough to be kicked off a site. How can were have debates in this country if we are silenced?

But it was not true that you couldn't get it nor pass it on, which was the main point of the vaccine (and the reason I got the first shots, because I was around two elderly people).
So, no, it was not close to performing as advertised.
Still, if the science indicated it did, I'd give him a pass.
The problem is that there were perfectly credible, non conspiratorial scientists who were asking questions back then. But if you recall, you were forbidden from questioning the efficacy of the vaccines. You were also called a conspiracy theorist if you thought it came from a lab.
So yes, an apology from Paisley would probably be a good move

The woke mob reminds me of myself 20 years ago… but I was one person who eventually decided to be introspective and realized I can’t control everything/everyone in the entire world. Also I realized the stress and anger I felt was going to affect my health, so I decided to chill out. I hope some folks in the woke mob eventually come back down to reality and work on being happy in their own lives and finding common ground.
I think they’ll have to as they age. When you experience more of the world, you realize how little of it you really understand. These 20 year olds are just naive.

That's rather subjective of you. Can you point to "woke movement" in the dictionary? Not even those intolerant conservatives who are making laws against it can actually define it when asked. Define antifa, yet there's a whole counter "movement" opposed to them. These are often abstracts defined by each individual based upon what they're opposed to. "Sexist kids" would not at all be a universal definition.
The OP made no differentiating descriptors of what their perceptions were either. The OP did indeed care about what they were fighting for. They just got personally overwhelmed with it. That doesn't dilute the value of the causes.

Modern Family does an excellent job of making all of these “woke” ideas accessible and easy to digest. I get really tired of ideologies shoved down my throat. Modern Family is funny and I don’t get the vibe that they are pushing an agenda. It’s just hilarious. I’m glad they made Ed O’Neal smart and successful in it. I identify with that character.

Thing with Modern Family is it was well-written. It presented the stories and characters. It showed them as people instead of telling you. It didn't preach or sermonize and it wasn't afraid to be offensive and play to stereotypes. That is how you teach an audience, not by pontificating for 30 minutes to an hour. Not by making certain characters flawless and others so evil they're cartoonish.
Make a story where people can empathize with your characters. No one is perfect, no one is flawless. Don't beat them over the head with cringe writing and acting. In short, the message you want to present needs to be subtle and it needs to be realistic.
For instance, Jay is clearly uncomfortable with his son's homosexuality in the beginning. In writing today, he would be potrayed as a horrid bigot with no redeeming qualities. Instead the show shows how he gradually comes to accept his son for who he is because he loves his kids and even comes to love Mitchell's husband as part of the family.
Which story would you rather see? If people can't change or be redeemed then people will never see the point in changing their perspective.

Brad is a very grounded, smart, talented, loving person who does use his platform to shove his views down the public’s throat. He is such a great entertainer and really cares if those who pay to see his show have a great time.
My uncle Jim was Brad's jet pilot for years. Jim recently passed away. He wasn't a huge talker, but he and my aunt always spoke highly of Brad. Even as a ghost now, sometimes Jim will drop by and try to scare me, saying "Paaaaaaiiiiiisley." Jokes aside, Brad is a genuinely good dude and a very talented musician.

The only time the term ‘woke’ is used in conversation is via talking heads in the media and politics. In my little space of the world, us little people don’t give a damn with your boogeyman words and live day to day just fine.
We used to have a more generic word for racists, homophobs, sexists, etc. we called them assholes. They weren't kind, warm, loving people to those they thought were good enough and in their 'club', they were jerks to everyone. Maybe they were slightly less obnoxious to some people than others, but it was pretty situational - as in try saying no to one of them and see what happens. Anyway, my point is assholes are just a fact of life. There's no changing them and there's no educating them. And there's certainly no going to war against them. And all those caught in the middle are sick to death of taking flack that they don't deserve because some people actually enjoy offending other people, for no apparent reason but that they can. You are never gonna eliminate them from society, we already have laws that punish their actions, and the best we all can do is develop a thicker skin and ignore them. Attention is what they crave and letting them upset you just makes them feel powerful.
We just call them Democrats now.

Modern family did try to normalize new types of families. They did it and society will suffer as a result as those families are proving to be a failure
My family is very conservative and we loved Modern Family. They weren't pushing an agenda; they were just living.
But when you have pride parades and drag shows for kids that include overt sexuality and nudity and you expect to accept your lifestyle, hell no. Never.
