You're *so* right about how to hide in plain sight... Triangular rock with wire & colored string? That's not a pendulum, it's a bookmark! Whispered incantation over coffee being stirred widdershins? That's not a banishing, I'm just thinking out loud! Sudden interest in multiple spices? I'm just trying to cook & eat healthier! (A really good side effect, BTW.) If you read something and "hear" yourself in your head it's because of your vocal chords actually making the words. Taking that knowledge, you could whisper or even just say spells in your head.
For Gen X, it is wonderful to see these things expressed in our culture more openly. Indeed when we were your age, it was not accepted, or always labeled as "Satan Worship". A friend of mine and I were talking recently about how proud we are of our children's generation, which seems so much more open and accepting of many ideas that were difficult when we were growing up.
Laura Hogan as an older millennial, when I was a teen things were still badly misconceived. I am just glad that people have become more open minded as I got older but not too old!
Same honestly 😂 some satanists just took the symbol and now suddenly everyone who uses it is a Satanist ? Never mind how they also took the cross (just upside down, you know just like the pentacle?)
If your parents use a charcoal grill, gather a small amount of ash from the bottom along with a weakened charcoal lump (crumples into a powder easily) , get some black pepper and mix it in a bowl with some sea salt. Boom, black salt ☺
For candles you can make your own colored ones with little white tea lights and crayons!! Carve out the wax but be careful about the wick, you're going to want to keep that intact. Take the wax chunks and use the double burner method and then drop a piece of a crayon to make it colored. Pour that baby back in the tin and BAM COLORED CANDLES
Amnesia Fire and if you can’t get access to the kitchen to draw attention to it, you can use a big metal spoon and hold it over another candle as your double burner substitute
I used to do this when i was a kid to make candles and I would give some to my mom all the time, thank you for reminding me I could do that to make colored candles
I have a tip for a makeshift candle: 1. Make a tiny candle base. 2. Stock up all the freaking baby bell wax and put in the microwave for 5 seconds. 3. Dump it in the candle base!
I’m a closeted witch because both of my parents are very Mormon. My mom says she’ll be a witch with me, but not the religious way, like, apothecary, herbs and garden. I have an altar in my bedroom, she doesn’t even know what it is. I said I was into witch craft. She said, you are lucky, when I went through my witchy faze I had to go to libraries and look for Wicca stuff, my mom thought I was crazy. And I was like, haha ain’t a faze mom. But she is pretty accepting of everything, my dad I haven’t mentioned it to because I’m scared of how he’d react. I worship Morrígan, and the Faye, and my mom says it doesn’t matter what religion I am as long as I have a good core, but I know she’s just saying that, thank you so much for making this video!
I 300% agree with the kithen magick! It literally is the best way to practice without anyone knowing! Even if it's just putting an intention or emotion into what you're making, it's still magick! The other day I made some dough for pie crust at my grandmothers, and i put all my love into it (bc it was for a family members bday), and the whole pie made everyone really happy so i feel my magick was accomplished pfft
Yea btw I’m a witch on the low my parents are strict Christian advice from someone going through the same thing: buy your stuff in private on amazon or out with friends at a store go to the mail box earlier than your parents as soon as you wake up check your amazon account to see if it’s delivered hide ur materials never leave your books and candles out your parents will try go through find a good spot good luck 💕🥣
I'm very lucky to have grown up with a Wiccan mum but it's difficult for others I've met before. It makes me so grateful for having such a relaxed upbringing, and it's only now I'm starting my spiritual journey because I wasn't influenced into any religions or beliefs. I loved your ideas and a lot are flexible enough for both secret witches as well as those who allow others to know.
There's a lot of controversy around the "witch look" becoming a fashion thing. Sort of how people following organized religions must feel about religious symbols being worn as fashion items. Crosses, lotuses (you know the type) , trees of life( if you're an odinist, it could represent Yggdrasil, hands of Fatima (hamsa) . Little things like that...will be interesting to see what people make of it in the years to come.
I can't even count the number of times someone asked my if I was a Marvel fan because I wore Mjölnir around my neck, or if a was a fan of the Vikings tv show because of my rune pendant or rings. To 99% of people, symbols (even religious symbols) are just a fashion choice.
Don't watch what other people do. Do your own thing. Witchcraft going mainstream is a trend, but the bandwaggoners will jump on the next thing in time. Just practice your practice. Use what works for you.
Controversy is stupid, you don't have to be religous to work with "the craft".. Litterally we've gone on about this for ages now suddenly it's controversial to follow the craft without being religous ? Pffft
I don't even know why I'm watching this.. my parents are super supportive and my mom is actually a kitchen witch. My love goes out to all the broom closeted witches ❤
I just don't want my partner and parents to find out because I know it will weird them out/ worry them and they will not make the effort to understand it
Ona Alert if your partner doesn’t accept you I can’t say that you’d wanna be with them. As of early this year I’ve decided I’m pagan/a witch. And my husband accepted it. My mom as well, but parents are different. You can’t break up with them lol.
*laughs* OMG, the way you do the "deeemanz!" thing is pretty much exactly how I make light of my own mom's thoughts about these things. I love her too, but... DEEEEMAAAANZ!!!! XD
@@jeanetteo12 It takes a while and depends on each person how long the process will take as it's a personal journey. But for me, I just kept reminding myself why I decided to leave the Christian religion. I reminded myself of how guilty, shameful, and unhappy I felt. And how I wanted to find another path that I would actually be happy with. A spiritual path that actually aligns with my beliefs and feelings. Also, I'm an indigenous person. And another reason I became unhappy with it was because it kept me from learning more about my indigenous culture; how anything non Christian was evil and barbaric. 4:00 when you accidentally reveal that you literally found out how to levitate edit: o my thank you I absolutely positively admiringly love you channel and I feel like I and many other witches and wizards on here would love a herb video of somesort!
some of my broom closet practise ideas: ebooks, audiobooks, podcasts, random stones, hide tarot deck in playing card box, get into tasseography, do spells outside, pray, meditate, center/ground, manifest, sigils drawn using water/oil, gardening, energy working, pill boxes and sauce jars, and magick sprays
I also practice in secret and I would like the share a little tip for my fellow witches! As an altar I use a painting I made (with acrylics so that the color is bright and its very hard to wash away) representing the God and the Goddess (I basically painted a tree in the middle that to me represents the spirit, and then on the left side I painted a moon, on the right a sun). It looks just like a regular pretty painting, nothing witchy about it. Personally I just love it (its temporary so I consacrate it every time) I think that its the best solution for me
I live with my family and i haven’t told them that i’ve been practicing witchcraft for a few weeks but i’ve been interested for years, I am able to have a kind of witchy aesthetic because I just have jars of rainwater and moon water and candles and gems everywhere no one questions it because it looks nice to them and I keep all of my witchy things in a hidden box that no one knows about.
I'm out of the broom closet but I gotta tell you that my husband found your channel and put it on for me as background noise and I got hooked. I'd been slacking on my practice and you completely turned that around for me. I moved from a tiny one bedroom apartment to my own house with a nice yard where I can have a small herb garden. Let me tell you I can't keep a plant alive but your energy makes me want to try again and feel like I can do anything.
20 years in the Mormon church taught me a lot about...symbols...pentacles...spiritual communication...even many things paranormal and was a true kickstart into full on “witch stuff”. Wild right? I don’t attend church any longer. I just hang out with my crystals and candles and find great joy and higher than ever spiritual enlightenment!
So positive. I've been wanting to start witchery with crystals for my self love and help me emotionally with my life. You have helped me to start since I knew nothing. Thank you so much.
I can't tell you how much of a breath of fresh air this was to find. I was born into a pagan house that transitioned to born again christian so everything witchy was shunked out of my life pretty suddenly, so I haven't been allowed to practice for a good ten years or so now. I have found that sewing is also a great way to practice in secret as well as a nice practical skill. You can hide sigils in seams and even sew in secrets in the linings of jackets, pockets, or even bags. Not only that, but cross stitch and embroidery can let you work wonders too.
I really think that makeup is beautiful But im a boy and it make me so insecure since i already have a really delicate face and like ''pretty hair'' or whatever I dont know what to do please help me do you know if exist some kind of ''makeup tutorial'' for boys who wanna look a little bit more unique?? im so confuse being a feminine boy is hard... please give me some tips~
May be “popular” right now, I still practice in absolute secret, though my altar is right out in the open in my big bay window...most think the candles are just that...candles (most think it’s just a catholic thing) and my “supplies are kept in a pretty box, again in the open but no one knows what they’re for. Now....the darker stuff, that altar is in the basement, no one goes there. My sigils, man do I love those!!! This is a great video!! Basically what you said, I practice secretly in plain sight 😊
I think the acceptability of the craft really depends on location, when I lived in FL in the late 90s and early 00s and we definitely had occult sections in our big box book stores, but at the same time, I live in TN now and recently got dumped by a girl and called a demon once she spotted my altar and worked out what it was.
I'm so sorry that you've had negative experiences, especially from your mom, and possibly others. . Everyone should be free to practice what they believe, what's on their souls, without fear of criticism or harm. .
I am going through this exact same thing. I live with my Mother. She's already suspicious of me practicing Tarot. She thinks its...witch-craft. But I had to tell her it isn't. Although I was being ignorant myself. I have to be secretive about my spell herbs and candles, because I don't want her finding out. Same with my friends. I am literally the only one who is into magic and tarot.
Me and my best friend are both Witches and both of our parents are like SATAN HAS GOT A HOLD OF HER. But I love your content. We practice in secret and we are all about everything spooky. I have a bunch of candles and just tell my mom I have an obsession with candles. And I hide everything I use in a small brown woven lock box that works great. I have been in the craft for about 3 months and I enjoy it so much. You are an amazing youtuber and witch and have inspired me so much. Thank you and keep being awesome!
No where does it refer to satan in anything about any of the old beliefs. The satan they are stating is for their beliefs not yours but you will never be able to show or tell them so let it ride.
I'm starting my path to witchcraft, and my mom thinks it's evil and I can sommen evil spirits and my grandmother is vary cristian. So this is really helping me. By the way while watching this I'm setting up an altar in a box. My mom gave me the box. She will never know the things I do with box.
I'm so happy I found you! 💜 You're personality cracks me up, in a beautiful way of course. 😊 If we met I feel we'd be friends haha. thank you for the inspiration and light.
I bought my first Rider-Waite tarot deck at the General Store on Main Street U.S.A. at Disney World when I was 14 in the early '70s. Times were certainly different then. We were on our way to my grandmother's house for a visit and my Mom said "Just don't let Grandmother see them." Grandmother was a stern (second-generation German) Southern Baptist who didn't even allow regular playing cards in her house. I understood completely. 'Practicing in secret' is absolutely Traditional. No witches were actually burned in the United States but they were certainly executed by the Puritans. Spiritual descendants of the original Puritans are cdefinately still around and I'm sure you know a few personally. The 'cloak of invisibility' was real and for personal protection. A dark gray or black cloak that lets you vanish into the shadows in the dark can save you in a pinch.
I use an auric cleansing/shielding body wash I made also, that's another good idea. Just put it in a regular body wash bottle. (Make sure the oils you use don't hurt skin!)
ATTENTION WITCHES IN THE BROOM CLOSET!!!! If you wear makeup, you can blend sigils into your foundation or concealer! You can tell people you’re making “shoe fresheners” ( those little things you put in your shoes to make them smell nice) but really you’re making spell bags! You can use birthday candles if you don’t have access to full size candles! (Plus they’re easier to hide) You can put your altar in a shoe box and keep it at the back of you’re closet! You can print a full tarot deck for free at www.darktarot.com/printable_tarot_deck/court_games_tarot.php and it’s a really pretty deck! You can use sound or visualization for cleansing instead of smoke! You can get jars to “organize your pens”, and you can use them for herbs, salt, or anything else you need! You can make your own pentacles out of sticks and twine! You can look up tons of guided meditations on CZcams, and if someone asks you about them, you can just say they help you sleep! NOW GO FORTH MY BROOM CLOSETED WITCHES, AND BLESSED BE!

Not a silly idea - it's a visualisation in pixel form. It's where the physical and the astral meet. It's really clever. Make sure you have some clear quartz around or near your screen though.
Wish I had seen this video 3 years ago. Before I moved out, my parents are strictly Catholic and I had to hide my witchy and wiccan research and practice
My parents are super accepting of me being a witch and I'm so thankful for that it's sad to see that baby witches have to hide themselves from unaccepting people, when I grow up and maybe have kids I'll raise them surrounded by witchcraft but it's their choice if they want to practice, they can believe whatever they wish :3
It isn't as much a practicing in secret thing for me, but a convenience thing for people who live in dorms or places they can't have candles, you can use those wax warmers too. I know they can be a bit pricey, but my mom gave me a couple Scentsy warmers, and I use those for some light candle magic. They're especially great for carving a sigil into and then melting to activate it...and then being able to use the wax again. Although, it seems to me as though the wax will eventually run out of energy, so if your spells with it start to seem like they're not working or backfiring, try changing out the wax.
The only part of the witchy aesthetic I can keep while being in the broom closet is the black cat. My family has owned one before I realized how interested I was in magick, and shes is very ~aesthetic~.
A really nice kitchen magick is making sigil cookies! I make them for me and my friends all the time. You can put cinnamon for power, fine eggshell powder for protection (and calcium hahaha) and so much more! And at the same time power them up with sigils and intents.
Another tip for y'all is those hidden boxes that look like books to keep your herbs, crystals, chakras, runes, and single peices of paper with spells, rituals, and potions then just put the book on your shelf and they will never know ;) :)
I told my dad a sigil I made was just a game where you make up a random sentence and make a doodle out of it....... It's sorta true I guess....ish..... I'm trying to feel better abt lying 😂😂😂😂😂
I was curious to Buddhism, but it didn't feel right. I keep gravitating to the craft, and I feel at home. I have a garden with herbs, I collect stones and sticks on my four acres and would gaze at the moon in wonderment before being drawn to become a witch. Oh, I do remember when I was 11 that I made an alter of some sort, but didn't really know what I was doing. Now that I am 55, I feel that I am comfortable in being what I truly am. Thank you.
I am very grateful and lucky that the majority of my friends are interested and think its cools, and even two of my friends parents are Wiccan and practice witchcraft. My whole family is religious so i practice in secret in my room, at schools, and anywhere i can without raising any eyes. I'm also a baby witch. like a few days old baby witch so im using what i can find and filled up half of my Grimoire of notes, rules, and how-to's out of an old small sketchbook, and filling it with all the info from your channel and other channels and searching things up. All i have right now is Rose petals from my front yard, salt, bay leafs, self-made sigils, and cinnamon. The making of your own spells is honestly really challenging right now but how to cast it can be even more difficult if you dont know what works, but my intentions are are fully clear. I have no candles, no crystals, no incense and no money of my own or a way to get some until im old enough to get and have a job, (which im going to be in about less than two months) but my friends whos parents practice witchcraft might be able to provide a little of that sorts. Dose anyone have any tips or tricks for making spells and casting? I know no body can directly give you them and walk you through it for every spell out there and i dont need that, just a little bit of guidelines until i start to understand what works best for me and what you can and cannot do. Is an altar the place you cast most spells? And how do you make one when you have little? Sorry i know that this is long and most people wont bother to read this far but i need some help. I dont have my own phone or computer with me because i got it taken a little over two months ago, so im on my moms computer so i have to be extra careful on what i look up and what i do. Your videos have really helped me in understanding and rules and how you can make things i cant thank you enough for it!!!! You and everyone whos made it to the end have a great day and a wonderful next day !
Just wanted to say thank you for the great advices. This morning I just bought 2 books to start discovering about this subject I was always fascinated but was too shy and afraid of the opinion of the people around me. You gave me trust in myself that it was the right time to start. Have a wonderful day 😊
i grew up constantly doing crafts (thanks mum) and so within reason, if I needed something I could just say "oh yeah I need it for this craft I saw." worked almost every time.
I have an altar packed away under my bed because my family is nosy and I can’t keep it ANYWHERE. It SUCKS because if I’m working on tarot or a spell I have to lay it on the floor and if someone walks towards my door I have to shove it under my bed because I don’t know if they will come in or not, and I can’t keep it in my closet because my mom or sister will just open it up for no reason or to put something away.
"Look at moon phases, they are everywhere," - I could thank Pink Floyd for introducing my parents to The Dark Side of the Moon album, a hauntingly beautiful masterpiece. 😉 Speaking of "haunting" and "beautiful", I have always felt drawn to Stevie Nicks, I find her very inspiring musically and spiritually. As for books... Personally I think the best way to keep things low profile is the Amazon Kindle app for phones and tablets. I travel a lot and have moved house so many times, keeping hundreds of books in a Kindle app makes my life and moving into new houses so much easier. I have only kept about 30 paperback books with me, no more.
Hanukkah candles can be bought in many colours and similar sized black candles are available on Amazon. They don’t take a long time to burn and are easy to inscribe and dress for spells.
I realize you posted this almost a year ago now, but I would love to see a video on glamours! I am newly learning and gathering information, and the way you talk about things feels very accessible and welcoming.
Can I just say, I really loved this because I myself (like many other people) am practicing in secret because my mother is extremely religious and believes witchcraft to be one of the worst things a person could do. But literally the entire time I was watching this video I kept thinking “wow her eyes are beautiful”
I've been watching informative witchcraft videos for a while now. They've been interesting but there's something about you that really grabs my attention and keeps me even more inteigued! These videos make me feel really at ease.
Today I found out that I am secretly a practicing witch (of sorts). I've been driven by instinct and not formally trained. I drew sigils (directly or indirectly) everywhere for just about everything. I thought I was quite mad, but it felt so right so I kept doing it. I see auras/presences. I understood conversations begins even before you speak the first word. I dance to the flow of the air. I felt pulled by nature although circumstances limits my interactions thus far. Also living in a super conservative environment, so a lot of these things are kept mostly in secret. I guess my main way of connecting to the universe so far had been art. And through that I find myself going further and further into the world. Even then, I kinda weird people out with my rather bizarre art. Just so happened that I am working on a project that involves witches. Went off to do research and here I am, discovering something I feel so familiar with. Thank you for the beautiful videos

I drew a pentacle on my wrist two years ago and got reported by a student. I was considered a satanic and evil. My teacher pulled me into the Hall and lucky me I asked to use the bathroom before hand so I already washed it off, hard! I confessed about Wicca and even told her to search it up. Society was okay with it but they weren’t and I felt like a monster. And this was when I was still a ‘in the womb” witch lol. Irrelevant but the next day, I cut in the same spot I drew the pentacle and the girl student saw, now, NOW, she keeps quiet and didn’t bring it up again except once the next year while whispering to another student. God help me. I’m so glad that I’m more educated now and confident about my craft and your videos are life savers! Thank you!

I have a jar full of sulphur nasty yellow powder, and ironically, it can also be used to make acne soap, great for the garden soil pH, and can help greatly with some puppies skin disorders...
If you read something and "hear" yourself in your head it's because of your vocal chords actually making the words. Taking that knowledge, you could whisper or even just say spells in your head.
Wow.. actually mind blowing🙊
I think what you are talking about is Heka or Egyptian voice magicks.
@love Truth how do you know that?

For Gen X, it is wonderful to see these things expressed in our culture more openly. Indeed when we were your age, it was not accepted, or always labeled as "Satan Worship". A friend of mine and I were talking recently about how proud we are of our children's generation, which seems so much more open and accepting of many ideas that were difficult when we were growing up.
I love this comment. So true!
Laura Hogan as an older millennial, when I was a teen things were still badly misconceived. I am just glad that people have become more open minded as I got older but not too old!
Did you mean Gen Z?
H D I think they mean gen x which was the generation before millennials.
Can you please do a video on glamours and kitchen magick?

haha also, I love that the pentacle was used by christians at one point.
Mishellyloves Books haha yeah
L.O.L
Same honestly 😂 some satanists just took the symbol and now suddenly everyone who uses it is a Satanist ? Never mind how they also took the cross (just upside down, you know just like the pentacle?)
And the upside-down cross is a Christian symbol too! It's St Peter's Cross I believe.
@@ThaevynTheFool the reverse-cross is literally a Christian symbol for humbleness, and now most "Christians" don't even know that and yell at you 🙄
"Bring me prosperity and you just dump cinnamon into your tea or coffee" if that isn't a witchy mood

Amnesia Fire and if you can’t get access to the kitchen to draw attention to it, you can use a big metal spoon and hold it over another candle as your double burner substitute
the problem is, mine is scented and is colored green lmao
I used to do this when i was a kid to make candles and I would give some to my mom all the time, thank you for reminding me I could do that to make colored candles
I have a tip for a makeshift candle:
1. Make a tiny candle base.
2. Stock up all the freaking baby bell wax and put in the microwave for 5 seconds.
3. Dump it in the candle base!
XxTeddyx X *what about birthday candles?*
Lemonade
Do what I said but mix cheese in it too, and add a rope.
You can also use different colored crayons. You just have to put them in for about 15 seconds.
Maybe she's not just saying that....I was still Mormon until half my kids were grown up 😉
Apothecary is part of witchcraft. It's much safer than pills.
I told my friend that I'm practicing and drew a pentacle and she was like ohhh you devil worshiper 🙄🙄🤦

"You can bless them, protect them or you can curse them!" - Witch of Wonderlust - loved it.
I wholeheartedly agree, because to me cooking is a form of alchemical art
Yea. Personally kitchen majick isn't really my thing... But i admire the people who do.
i love that ^^

I'm very lucky to have grown up with a Wiccan mum but it's difficult for others I've met before. It makes me so grateful for having such a relaxed upbringing, and it's only now I'm starting my spiritual journey because I wasn't influenced into any religions or beliefs. I loved your ideas and a lot are flexible enough for both secret witches as well as those who allow others to know.
Sadly I can't practice openly but honestly I'm happy that you can, cause having a Wiccan mum sounds awesome!

What?
Don't watch what other people do. Do your own thing. Witchcraft going mainstream is a trend, but the bandwaggoners will jump on the next thing in time. Just practice your practice. Use what works for you.
Controversy is stupid, you don't have to be religous to work with "the craft"..
Litterally we've gone on about this for ages now suddenly it's controversial to follow the craft without being religous ? Pffft

How did you overcome the guilt?
@@jeanetteo12 It takes a while and depends on each person how long the process will take as it's a personal journey. But for me, I just kept reminding myself why I decided to leave the Christian religion. I reminded myself of how guilty, shameful, and unhappy I felt. And how I wanted to find another path that I would actually be happy with. A spiritual path that actually aligns with my beliefs and feelings.
Also, I'm an indigenous person. And another reason I became unhappy with it was because it kept me from learning more about my indigenous culture; how anything non Christian was evil and barbaric. Not to mention Christianity's history of ethnocide and colonization.

some of my broom closet practise ideas:
ebooks, audiobooks, podcasts, random stones, hide tarot deck in playing card box, get into tasseography, do spells outside, pray, meditate, center/ground, manifest, sigils drawn using water/oil, gardening, energy working, pill boxes and sauce jars, and magick sprays
Also, I am absolutely adoring your channel! I know several 'baby witches' that could definitely benefit from these videos! Thanks for this!

I’m going to forever wonder what that card she picked was

Im so lucky to have been raised by my great gran who called her self a witch she taught me sooooo much
I'm so happy I found you!

If you wear makeup, you can blend sigils into your foundation or concealer!
You can tell people you’re making “shoe fresheners” ( those little things you put in your shoes to make them smell nice) but really you’re making spell bags!
You can use birthday candles if you don’t have access to full size candles! (Plus they’re easier to hide)
You can put your altar in a shoe box and keep it at the back of you’re closet!

My parents are super accepting of me being a witch and I'm so thankful for that it's sad to see that baby witches have to hide themselves from unaccepting people, when I grow up and maybe have kids I'll raise them surrounded by witchcraft but it's their choice if they want to practice, they can believe whatever they wish :3
please don't ever stop doing what your doing! I'm just getting started and you have been a HUGE help!
YES to the glamour video!

This morning I just bought 2 books to start discovering about this subject

Color jewelry is great... That what I started with in plain sight. It works and I still do used it . Good info, Thanks you!
i grew up constantly doing crafts (thanks mum) and so within reason, if I needed something I could just say "oh yeah I need it for this craft I saw." worked almost every time.
Speaking of "haunting" and "beautiful", I have always felt drawn to Stevie Nicks, I find her very inspiring musically and spiritually.

Put crystals in container of sea salt or rock salt and cover for two weeks. Cleansing incantations couldnt hurt.
First video I've ever seen from this channel... I LOVE IT
Today I found out that I am secretly a practicing witch (of sorts).

I haven't told my parents about my practices, but I think they already know I do. This video was really helpful for practicing in secret 😌😘
YOU LOOK SOOO BEAUTIFUUUUUULLLLL WITH THAT SHORT HAIR, YOU ARE ROCKIN´ IT!!!
Thank you!
