It does big time. This like brakes is a critical component in any type of transport. Using a welding rod and a mild steel sleeve where needle bearings should be fitted is pure lunacy. It is not a reconditioning it's a deadly botch job.
Usually the shaft is left natural to be ductile, but the gear cuts will be heat treated. This box is probably for a glorified golf cart of sorts anyway.
Serviço duvidoso ,restauraçao perigosa oara um componente de segurança . Certo fazer eixo estriado novo. Buchas novas ,rolamentos novos .Se tem o maquinario só fazer bem feito.
