I think why I've never really rated Mbappe as much before the WC was because I never saw PSG games besides in the UCL. I always knew he was good but the guy definitely won my heart this WC, now I'm thinking of getting Ligue 1 just to see PSG play. Keep on going Kylian you're amazing bro.

How clueless do you have to be to call this kid a pace merchant? Of course speed is one of his main attributes but he is no Walcott, Adama Traore or Aubameyang, he’s got flair, skill, can score 40+ goals a year and provide 15+ assists, I mean what else do you want him to do? Ikr, it is extremely dissapointing to see idiots undermine his achievements and boil it all down to his pace. It is impossible to be *just* fast and also score 20+ goals EACH season, and be arguably the star of a world cup winning team as a teen. In my personal experience, I think a lot of it has to do with race. Players like Pele, Mbappe always are brought down for no reason by what I assume are 12 year olds on the internet

Their foot work is very similar. Very rapid steps and change of support foot, combined with explosive pace wich is visually very striking and almost beast like.
The difference between them is R9 was *the* number 9. He revolutionized the n°9 role back in the days, but he is in his nature a complete n°9. Whereas Mbappe is more of a winger or a 2nd striker. Mbappe cannot (and does not like to) be the lone striker in front line like R9 (who played most of the time as the 1st striker, supported with a number10). Mbappe hates physical contact with defenders and is most of the time dominated in duels in that position. But, he's got tons of assists and high % of chances created for his teams by playing on the wings or as a 2nd striker. A lot more than R9.
For me this difference is due to the fact that football has evolved since R9. The defensive tactics and the overall quality of the defenders playing at the highest level has increased significantly since the late 90s/early2000s. If R9 played in this era, I would imagine that he would have to adapt and play on the wings as well. Or at least, that's where a sensible coach would put him.

Le problème lorsque tu es d'un niveau tel que le sien, c'est qu'il faut que tu acceptes que même tes coéquipiers (Pour la majorité) ne joueront jamais aussi bien que toi, même si l'équipe dans laquelle tu évolues est très forte.
L'intelligence est de s'appuyer sur eux de manière constructive afin de les impliquer totalement dans le jeu.
Qu'ils se sentent constamment concernés par l'événement.
Car le foot est et sera TOUJOURS un sport collectif avant tout. (La performance individuelle étant le petit + qui peut faire la différence.)
Je pense que de ce côté là, il faut qu'il franchisse encore un cap kiki.
