Regarding Smeargle: Absolutely not an unlockable spawn, it's available as soon as you get access to the terarium.
ye its been so long so i forgot just wanted to cover my ass from comments incase it was lol
Yet it doesnt spawn with me haha
Also it can be be found in all biomes.
@@JJKSauce Which isn't particularly relevant, since the goal is to get a Smeargle in that one super specific fussy spot in particular.
(EDIT: Other videos are suggesting that it's just a matter of having a tree nearby that the transformed Smeargle will run into, so other spots and biomes might work? So actually yeah, good to know if you want a change of scenery.)
I can't wait to hear what exactly is up with that once people pick the glitch apart and figure out why it works like that.
Ya, I have been looking for 4 hours and no smeargle
HEY - guys, just so you know, I performed the glitch just fine with small pokemon AND without using struggle, or getting imprison on my dupe pokemon. Did it with a fresh shiny Rowlett!
Instead of using imprison, you can just run. Modifying the moveset of the pokemon and struggling before running is just extra steps that don't add anything, so unless your pokemon has self-damaging moves, or something that could wipe out your pokemon, I wouldn't bother.
Okay, happy duping!
UPDATE: I've spent my day messing with this glitch, and man my head hurts from too much screen time...
Anyway, I've learned a bit.
For starters, this glitch seems to not trigger in this location with certain pokemon, held items, or a combination of the two. However, yes, it works in multiple locations, and you do not need to face a specific direction, you just need to be near a tree or a location where sleeping spawns can appear, and where Smeargle can appear.
This means this can be triggered in any biome!
The reason it won't trigger I believe has to do with the game's memory, but I'm unsure.
The reason it does work is that it seems transformed Smeargle confuses the game, and instead of despawning the smeargle, it stores its data to recycle the spawn, but the data it copies is the pokemon Smeargle transformed into.
What's crazy is that when the copied pokemon appears in the wild, it even retains the health your pokemon was at. If it was damaged, it will appear with the same health missing in the wild.
There's is no 100% guarantee this will work, even when you've performed all of the steps. There's a bit of randomness to it, because it's just how the game handles spawns, despawns, and respawns.
If you've tried 10x and still can't get it to work, try saving, closing the software, starting the software, leaving the area, and reloading it. Then change the pokemon you're trying g to clone, or its held item. Or experiment with different locations.
I will also add that imprison, nor struggle add to the effectiveness of triggering this glitch. It's not needed, and if anything, a hindrance - but DO remove self-damaging moves from your clone pokemon.
Also, don't ask me about cloning fused pokemon, I haven't tried that, and people have reported ill effects of it. I'm just cloning pokemon so that they appear legal.
Also, don't clone pokemon that have already been transferred through HOME, you will not be able to bring them into HOME.
That's all I've got, that's a wrap.
Okay, have fun duping!
I can vouch for this lol I just tried it with my shiny Rayquaza and got it to work. Now I have an extra for my friend!
@@luisgonzalez8462 amazing! This glitch is so fun. I think it triggering is a little bit of an odds game. Spawns respawning doesn't always seem to happen in normal gameplay either, and it's possible there are multiple locations in the savannah biome that this works.
ty for the comment, tried this and it worked after a couple of attempts! did it with a shiny oricorio :)
@@bkcinniminies2877 it was an accident that I got it to work in the first place - I forgot to set up my Rowlet's moveset to something that would run out of PP quickly, so I ran away. I saw the same one spawn under the tree! Been doing it with other pokemon, too, and since I can comfortably replicate it, I figured it I'd share the info and save others the hassle! I'm glad it could help!
@@sunla so after it copy our pokemon we can just run? That it?
Haven’t played Pokémon in many months, but I see a dupe glitch and I click.
True😂
Same my mind is broken
You read my mind this is all strange somehow
Gamefreak running out of player base and reintroduced the dupe glitch
What a great game.
For those without Kyurem on hand, Iron Leaves can relearn Imprison at the level you catch it at, and I was able to make the glitch work with him.
Thanks for the info !!! it works now!!!
I tried that with it and it didn't work for me :') **pain**
**more pain because CZcams is decided to make my computer lag out**
Bronzong can also learn it
It works, but you can use Hoopa to do Trick, so if it runs out of PP, you can just forget it and then relearn it
Thanks a lot, I had not captured Zekrom lol
Thanks, great for duping ability patches! Also I left the terrarium, went to paldea and flew back to the spot close to the tree and the duped pokemon was still there (I used Arceus). If you send out your pokemon using the L button to get rid of the annoying pokemon that gather around it will not kill the duped pokemon. At least it doesn't kill the Arceus. Also you can run over to the healing machine nearby to get your pp back and your duped pokemon will still be there waiting for you. You can also use theif to get the held item. It does take some of the duped pokemons HP but after you run and reinitiate a battle the duped pokemons HP is back to full.
Good lord somebody please post a guide or picture of exact smeargle placement !!!!
@@dymondmurray1645Right?! I can’t get it to work!
@dymondmurray1645 I had to pause the video when he was at the bushes, looking at the tree with the healing station area in the background.
I also used my shiny arceus the second time the first time I got it to work with my shiny black kyurem for rare candy now I’m stacking them ability patches, thanks for the tip I hope mine stays when I save and come back
This is such an amazing way to duplicate items. With a little set up you have a fast method that you don't need to delete boxes of pokemon to do.
If it works yeah for me after 30 times it still doesn’t work lol
@@Skinsuitdemonposition is key I took me a while but you really have to do exactly what Blaine’s is telling you to do in the same exact position as in the video. Also your ditto has to use transform and not do it on its own via ability in order for sketch to effectively be used.
Little setup? The glitch is good but it’s the most frustrating thing to get to work.
@@SkinsuitdemonI watched the video about five minutes after blains dropped it & I only managed to finally get it to work about 3 hours ago… it’s just extremely frustrating.
@@TheOneTheyCallVee yeah i give up on it waste of my time
I still had all my duped items since Walking Wake came out and forced everyone to choose to update or keep duping 😂 but this looks cool gonna try this later. Thanks Blaines!!
If you want to do this glitch with Pokemon that are worth keeping Girafig and Fennekin are both able to learn imprison and both spawn in the Savanna Biome naturally so duplicating those shiny versions wouldn't be illegal.
To note: if you catch fused kyurem, you won’t be able to release it, since you will be only able to separate one of ur fused kyurem
2 things to note. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. 1) Make sure your ditto doesn't have the HA imposter otherwise it will transform automatically and not let it sketch.
2) Make sure you're faster than smergle. My ditto was only level 75 and I had to throw some mochi it's way. lol
Or you could slap on a choice scarf
Thanks I had HA
Quick powder is also in the game
@@twirlypanda quick powder stops working after ditto transforms
@@fivetales2672 yeah but his issue was that the smeargle was sketching before ditto would transform
The brief pause at the beginning was funnier that it should've been 😂
The millennial pause is very real lol
it was late and i was tired and i missed the edit at the start lol
Just another tip - if, after the first item you dupe, you are having issues trying to get the glitch to occur again, try switching which Pokémon is holding the item. First try I did Iron Leaves holding a sport ball and when I tried it while it held a dream ball, it wasn’t working. So I switched to Arceus holding the dream ball and then it worked again.
Thanks Blaines for sharing this info!!
This really helped me I did it first with my shiny keyrum but then I couldn’t get it to work again until I used my shiny arceus so thanks for the tip!!
@@mattericarichards8462 I’m glad it helped! No problem. 🙂
Thank you as always. Very helpful
Thank gosh, another item dupe glitch! I've been waiting for this for ages 😩😩
Speaking of Mochi, imagine our four-legged pets doing the Mochi Dance.
Quick way to farm items! Awesome. Still had one of my duped Koraidon in my party and had a bunch of ribbons on it. Then I had to say goodbye because of that one battle in Indigo Disk. Don’t want to get attached to another dupe that will get patched out though. I’ll stick to the items. 😂
So, after some testing, here's how I figure the glitch works:
The size of the Pokemon does NOT matter.
The location does NOT matter, as long as there's a tree nearby.
The direction you are facing LIKELY does not matter.
You do NOT have to do any damage to the Pokemon with Struggle.
What DOES matter is that there is an available spawn point under the tree. If you are failing, it's likely because the area is too full with Pokemon and there is no "room" to respawn the transformed Smeargle.
What I assume happens is that, upon running, the game will attempt to respawn the Smeargle in the tree spawn (or nearby spawn, I'm not sure if THAT even matters). But, since it's transformed, something it's not normally supposed to do, it will be respawned as the copy. All you have to do is make sure there is an empty spawn point for it to spawn in, and the last Pokemon's data will spawn there. This makes it particularly interesting to me because now I have to wonder if the Smeargle after the transform has your item even before the spawn. I may test this later.
i will also test. Huge if simplified
@@BLAINES Another thing worthy of testing is knocking out a Pokemon nearby RIGHT before starting the battle with Smeargle. I've had some luck with that, because it immediately opens up a spot for the spawn.
The thing I am most curious about now is...would it work with Ditto instead of smeargle? Since Ditto can transform. In this case the pokemon that encounters ditto first would need to hold the item?
Also what happens when you catch the duped pokemon?
@GEARscience @BLAINES Worked exactly how Gear said. I cleared wild spawns first, made sure tree was empty. Tested it 3 times with Smeargle in different positions from tree. I always faced north.
Thank you to you both for posting about this! Was struggling with the original method till I found this comment!
@@user-uj7dx3wt9q Glad I could help! Let's just hope it wasn't just coincidence and we have a more consistent way to pull this off.
Thanks so much!! Really wanted this for the shell bells. I no longer have to switch items before i do a raid
u know u can just buy some more shell bells right?
@@aubreyainsworth9373 LOL I dont know how I missed that shop💀
@@alexrivera3377 yea just head to mesagoza, they got it all
I managed to duplicate it! I tried using Zekrom since I didnt have Kyurem Black and it didn't work but I can with Arceus. I suspect its because my trainer direction facing north changes when I encounter the smeargle with Zekrom probably since he jumps back and the camera kinda shifts slightly out of north
Thanks Blaines now I can farm beastball this way since my NSO sub is gone and I can't get from trading online lol
Ghost types let you run away no matter what. A trick Gholdengo works pretty well for the item swapping.
Hoopa works too
And rotom
I’ve been doing really well with my lvl 100 shiny iron valiant his speed is off the charts lol
@@mattericarichards8462 you really had to throw in that it was shiny and level 100 huh?
Ability patch about to go nuts today good lookin !!
If its not working for you try a smeargle beside that same tree(sleeping under or awake) make sure to face north and follow the other steps exactly!
Tysm bro, I couldn't clone Ogerpon because I wasn't facing north💀
This is awesome thankyou blains for this also i wish there was a multiple item dupe glitch like there was ib bdsp where u could dupe 30 at a time
Update: you can do this with any pokemon so long as u forget all moves except sleep talk. it takes a little longer to get the glitch to work but I have done it with iron crown and now iron boulder. and make it struggle then run away. pro tip, keep the pokemon u are duping at high hp because the "wild copy" will have the same hp u have when u run away. Happy hunting
Were u in the same position as him in the video? I'm doing everything he did but it's not working for me
@BLAINES this could be useful info if you want to update the vid or something. i got curious and sure enough it works with sleep talk in place of imprison
Took a hot bit, but I got it to work! So much easier than the previous dupe glitches (imo at least). Really makes you wonder how people find this stuff...
As an update to this glitch: It is not specific to that location, and the whole imprison/struggle thing is unecessary. I've used the glitch successfully in the Coastal Biome as well to obtain a second legitimate Meloetta caught at level 70 in the Coastal Biome. These are the only requirements I've found:
A Pokemon must transform into the Pokemon you want to duplicate.
I BELIEVE it is necessary to have the Pokemon be a very specific distance west of a tree with a spawn point underneath it that Pokemon will spawn sleeping at.
I BELIEVE you must encounter the Pokemon by walking into it while facing VERY slightly west of due north.
Once the Pokemon has transformed into the Pokemon you want to duplicate, you can run from the battle immediately. If the Transformed Pokemon turns around, you know the glitch worked.
I BELIEVE the Pokemon will always spawn sleeping under a tree, which is the reason I BELIEVE a tree with a spawn point that Pokemon can spawn sleeping at is required.
Nothing else is necessary at all, there are no size requirements, Imprison is not required, Struggle is not required. This can theoretically be done with Dittos as well in Paldea, but there's no easy way to position them correctly, it just happens to work with Smeargles because they follow you and can learn Transform.
Also of note, the transformed Pokemon will become an EXACT duplicate of your own Pokemon at the time you flee the battle, including all moves, all their remaining PP and its remaining HP. This should be usable to obtain duplicates of any Pokemon you own that are obtainable in the Terarium and are at an appropriate level to be caught there, most notably a level 70 Meloetta in the Coastal Zone.
Edit: The tree the Pokemon will spawn at does not need to be directly east of the Pokemon, in fact I'm not sure you even need to face north when you encounter it but you might. I got a third Coastal Biome Meloetta and it spawned nearby stationary under a tree, but not the tree I was lined up for. Instructions unclear, but it is possible in other locations with trial and error.
Edit: Any Pokémon that can be found in the Terarium should be legal when duped with this method regardless of what biome they naturally spawn in, except Meloetta who MUST be caught in the Coastal Biome. This is because you can theoretically herd any Pokémon from its home biome to a neighboring Biome.
Thanks for this info. I did it succesfully once but am having trouble now. Do you know does the biome change a little bit because I'm not getting the same three patches of grass and the tree is much closer to the dirt patch with the rocks than it was before and I'm not able to replicate it so far.
@@dizzlx4662 I've since done more dupes in a different biome and all of the information about requirements seems to be wrong, the only things I haven't tried changing yet are the direction I face when I encounter the Pokemon and a spawn tree being nearby.
As for your question, the biome will never change, you're either near the wrong tree or looking at the wrong patches of grass, there are a few patches of grass in that area so it can be easy to get the wrong ones. Just double check what you're looking at if you want the exact same patches of grass, but that isn't necessary based on my testing.
You’re a legend. Thanks 🙏
Do u know the pokemon can be ko? I ko my dupe iron leave once and now the glitch does not work anymore
Supposedly the giraffe will spawn next to you at times? I’m sure someone will find a better method with out a tree and the best mon for the dupes.
Hi Blaines, great video. Id like to point out a few things I have found while messing with it to make the process even easier!
1. Can be done all with Pokemon in the native dex, I used ditto, bronzong for imprison, and then rotom for trick. Worked great! Also, bronzong doesn't have imprison so you get double the items (kyuurem has pressure)
2. This glitch will not work if other Pokemon are sleeping at the tree! Knock out any sleeping Pokemon before trying this.
3. I've heard size of Pokemon matters but it truly doesn't. Positioning and ensuring Pokemon aren't sleeping at the tree are the 2 determining factors. I've successfully duped all apriballs using the above setup. I hope this helps, cheers.
Also, remember to bring plenty of ethers!
This is so useful, thx Blaines
Dude steals info from twitter and posts it with no credits to the original finders. He's an actual parasite
i wish we knew earlier about this bug
kinda want to fight kieran in the BBL Champion battle with all 4 ogerpon forms
BLAINES I MISSED YOU DOING GLITCH VIDEOS
It still works, although you just really have to find a smeagle near a tree, didn't use imprison nor struggle, I just let him change to furret and then dip out then go to a tree where smeagle/furret is, problem was whenever I use trick continuously seems like its not really getting an ability patch each time I use the skill, I had to "run away" then battle it again. The ability patch goes automatically in the bag.
Finally a second chance i updated my game before I could try the last one
Look at that, duplication is back, been a while since this was common place
This is sooo good! Time for more beast ball 🤩
Reminds me of the old GSC and RBY ditto glitch.
im trying just now and everytime smeargle uses sketch on ditto that knows only transform it says it failed i tried letting the smeargle go first and tried using transform first
We need to develop a list of Pokémon this can work using pronto! So far we have cases of Galarian Moltres and Black Kyurem working for this, but we need to figure out all the others that can too.
White kyruem works do I duped with it
I used Groudon and it was shiny lol
I used ogerpon and raging bolt
works with any, just skip the imprison part. im using meloetta
Iron leaves
As many have mentioned, be sure that the tree is clear (no sleeping Pokemon under it or Rowlett perching atop it). Quality of Life: You can picnic reset the entire area. Don't use regular Kyurem, it works but it's pressure ability will waste your Trick's PP. Meowscarada learns Trick through move remember and she has pretty good movement speed to clear annoying spawns. A party of 6 Meowscarada's (recommend leveling them up to avoid failed escapes) with trick PP'ed up will save you a bunch of trips to the health station
Did that and still doesn’t work 😂
This is dumb, just use Rimbombee it can learn thief trick switcheroo and covet.. learning tms and forggetting them keeps them the list to relearn so infinite pp as well as
The glitch works like a charm much appreciated. Just have one quick question, let’s say you are done farming the current item you had the Pokémon holding (example being Kyerum in the video). if you were to have the Pokémon with the ability trick (example being Lugia in the video) have a different item than the wild glitch, then have it use trick so that way they swap items, would The Wild glitch still have the previous item, or does it now hold the new item that was swapped to it? Or would you have to kill it and do the glitch all over again with a new held item?
Have you tried? I was wondering the same
I tried it. Basically, the Pokemon holding the item will still be holding the original item it has when it got cloned. The new item will not be trqnsferred. In other words, it won't work.
@@7swordquanta459thanks. Much appreciated on the info
Hey there Blaine just an update one player here in the Philippines was able to do this item dup glitch with the same exact process in the Canyon Biome. Just need to have a nearby tree where transformed Smeargle can spawn.
This is amazing, tried it with my shiny kyurem and it worked after a few tries
Arceus did it for me! :)
Thanks for sharing this new Glitch
I cant get the positioning right or something. Ive tried for the past 2 hours and cant do it
If you have a G Articuno and G Moltres from a previous giveaway the molteres can learn impirson, and the cuno can learn trick. I was able to get Gmoltres to dupe.
While about to begin glitch, I found a random shiny dodrio

Me too! I managed to find a Shiny Vibrava just roaming around while trying to find a Smeargle.
i found a random shiny bisharp omw there from area zero
@@aubreyainsworth9373 I found a shiny Zorua while I was looking for Virizion by accidentally encountering what I thought was a regular real Foongus
Same thing happened to me but it was the Smeargle that was shiny! 😆
thanks Blaine’s for always helping the community and spreading the news much appreciated
i never got a chance to do the koraidon/miraidon item glitch but this one seems far more easier, hopefully they dont patch this out for awhile
Just did about 30 battles with the Kyurem from the giveaway and got 30 gold bottle caps to test. The hardest part seems to get the smeargle into the position and at the right angle to get the glitch to work. Otherwise it’s really quick and easy to farm whatever the item is you want
If it a Pokemon that’s catchable in the Savanna Biome does it cause problems? Snivy doesn’t spawn in that spot, but I’d love to clone my shiny snivy or charmander etc. :O
no it shudnt
@blaines Thanks for the answer and the great content!
What if you glitch in a shiny pokemon that occurs naturally in the savannah biome?
It worked for me on my 5th try. I am farming my shiny feraligator caught in savannah biome. Thank you so much. Also bring a blissey with heal pulse to prevent it from fainting from struggle recoil. I also tried with serperior and have no luck. Serperior is too small won't work.
I guess the shiny there is legal if it is the level range of what it spawns in that biome
@@seangrenham5289 I caught it at level 71.
Thank you for this vid 😂 I have already farmed some dream balls and will use this so much until they patch it
How do i turn off auto update so i dont auto update any patches before i glitch all my items?
I do everything right but after i run away the pokemon will not spawn
I managed to do it once but not again 😅
Leaving my comment here as well so it may help someone else, after many failed attempts.
All videos I have seen so far only make this process harder, longer and needlessly complicated. I have found an easier way to do this and it has not failed a single time so far.
My tips: ignore the whole Struggle thing. You don't need to attack at all. As soon as the Smeargle becomes your Farigiraf, you can run away. Also, FARIGIRAF is def better than Kyurem because of the ability. If you have regular Kyurem with Pressure, it will only make things longer. For any purposes, my Farigiraf is level 100 but I am unsure if this affects anything at all. Same with Ditto, because it must outspeed the Smeargle.
As for the location. I don't know why all CZcamsrs insist so much on those freaking bushes. You can use the three bushes as reference, but stay away from them. Instead, take the Smeargle CLOSER TO THE TREE, like some 2 meters (6 feet) away from it. In short, you can still put the Smeargle in that location between thr 3 bushes and the big tree, just take the Smeargle closer to the tree and not the bushes
Face North with the character and approach the Smeargle. Do everything normally and skip the attack, just run away once the Smeargle transforms.
By being closer to the tree, you will ensure no mons will spawn in or around the area. This is what was killing my previous attempts. If it still doesn't work, try slowly moving away from the tree towards the bushes, until you find the sweetspot. You will eventually find it, and it's still closer to the tree than the bushes.
I really appreciate this tysm for the clarity and help it saved me so much time❤️
Not having any luck with this glitch, the Smeargle simply pops out of existence when I flee. Can't understand what I'm doing wrong.
Same. Love some extra info
It's gotta be in that spot, even tho I did it correctly it took a few tries to actually work, it's not 100% to work each time you set it up
@@inkedupmonster7158how do you get it in that spot?
@@calealbryant1791 get the smeargle attention, it'll have the ? Over its head then run over towards where you need it to be, and it'll chase you after you get so far away from it, and then you wanna make sure it's in the specific spot Blaine's explained. Make sure when you encounter it, you're facing north and you'll see the small tree in the background, another tip is to make sure your character is facing directly towards that little tree
if you use a fusion mon, calyrex shadow calyrex ice kyruem white or black, it only sets the kyurem or calyrex as "caught in savanna biome" while adding the true location to the reshiram kyurem etc, just did it then with Kyurem white looked at the reshiram was caught on pokemon go which is the same place that reshiram apparently came from in the case of Kyurem use dna splice on the clone and you get them split apart then erase the Kyurem and the reshiram/zekrom shows the proper place it was caught not savannah biome
What happens with the DNA splicers when you capture a fused kyurem? Can you use it on the duped kyurem? Can you just release it like its nothing?
My best guess as someone that managed to duped a fused pokemon in sword and shield, the fuse items have 2 states, unfused mode and fused mode (where data for the fusion is stored inside the item, such as what Pokémon were used to fused and stuff). If you use an unfused state fuse item on a fused pokemon it will have no effect, ultimately meaning that Pokémon is just taking up a space in your boxes (since you can't release fused Pokémon)
If you dupe it you can only infuse one Pokémon it’s either the og one or the cloned one but once you infuse it you can fuse back the Pokémon with any other one it’s jsut one will always have to be fused
Don´t work for me, tried over 20times, is there anyone here who got the glitch working?
Nice video! I just tried this out, and it worked! Just in case this gets patched, I'm gonna hold off updating my game until i get more apricorn balls.
So if the Pokemon that got dublicated can be found in the savanna biome (say its a shiny zebstrika that you are duping) would it be considered legal for Pokemon home?
Edit: assuming the level caught also checks out
Can confirm, cloud form Landorus also works
Also, if you wont kill whatever you transformed it into, if you have a banette you can use thief and have 25 pp and then forget it and relearn it to refill the pp

@@MadrigalNeXus Probably the Fresh Start Mochii. That’s about it
If you do the item dupe glitch using black kyurem or white kyurem as your imprison user, catch the mon after doing your item farming, then split it apart with the DNA Splicers, the location data on the reshiram or zekrom will not be that of the glitched mon and will be the same location data of the original zekrom/reshiram fused to make your kyurem fusion that you cloned
you shouldnt catch black kyurem or white kyurem
I would not clone a fused Pokemon. Did that on Sword and I can't separate that Pokemon again.
@blaines The one thing that wasn't notated is if you go to that rest area that is by that tree to heal your pp for trick is at the Black kyurem will then relocate to the other side of the rest area and then you can just have it where you can farm it in that spot. When you are ready to change the item you have to defeat the clone Pokemon or capture and then do the clone process all over again with a new smeargle
You can just make your Pokémon forget Trick then remember it and you’re back at full without items or a rest stop.
Wait, what now? That works?
@@Vanden_Vanden Yep, that’s how I do it. You can do it in PLA but the move’s PP doesn’t get fully restored. It does in SV though.
anyone having issue on the game where after the glitch, any wild pokemon u met, will just disappear after u quit the battle, including tera wild pokemon? anyone could share me how to fix this?
Does it have to be a Kyurem? I was thinking Flygon could be duped and caught since it's big and can spawn in the savanna so it would be legal
i got it! Make sure to change Dittos ability from transform to something else with an ability patch!
I’ve done this over and over for about an hour and can’t get it to work at all. Same update, same spot, same pokemon, same moves and steps. Only thing different is I have Kyurem Black holding an ability patch. I don’t get it…
Update: Finally got it to work after 2 hours smh, changed nothing so still don’t understand 😂
can confirm. If you place switch into sleep/standby while engaged with the Clone. You can continue the dupe of said item, after powering back up.
You can even use a picnic and the glitches clone stays. It doesn't act like a normal spawned pokemon
Cool note: the duped pokemon will quite literally be a 1 to 1 scale, this even includes the wild pokemon having a nickname in the wild, and any titles you had on it
One mistake in the video. If you dupe using a fused Kyurem or Calyrex, separate it before keeping it in your boxes. Due to how the fusion mechanics work, any fused Pokémon will work and you should theoretically be able to use the DNA Splicers/Reins of Unity again to fuse another legendary into the other form.
Be warned that you will absolutely want to keep the cloned Kyurem/Calyrex for the sole purpose of separating your two legal legendaries when it comes time to pack up for the next generation or else they'll be trapped in Scarlet/Violet since you can't move fused Pokémon into HOME.
Sorry I’m confused with your comment, can you explain what you meant by the mistake?
So fused legendaries when unfused will become legal? 🤔 I was thinking potentially using shiny pokemon which appear in the biome could work too
@@Drojam1basically you can unfuse the dupes but if you do you can’t unfuse the originals because of how the fusing items work so they wanted to warn people that didn’t know this
@@FantasticFox001 oh that’s what they meant by that. Thanks for letting me know.
@@FantasticFox001so you’re fine if you just don’t catch the the clone.
Someone try it with a shiny smeargle and see if you can make unobtainable shinys like koraidon
that is a video for another day. I will try
@@BLAINES how can we duplicate mons that can't learn imprison?
@@Lorenzo-0315 it just needs to struggle I think. So any pokemon with one move and 0 pp hopefully works.
@@Secret_sympathy thanks
When a Pokémon uses Transform, it transforms into an exact copy of the target Pokémon, including shininess. A shiny Smeargle transforms into a regular non shiny Pokémon unless your Pokémon is shiny.
Struggle isn't necessary for the glitch, you can run from the battle as soon as the Smeargle transforms.
Kyurem Black Smeargle using his Fraud Skills to Print Master Balls
I got black and white kyruem at the same time because of this glitch I’m going to try for nexrozma now
My Violet is still on Ver 1.1 but after watching this, I'm tempted to update so I can enjoy this!! :D
Jesus Christ, you never bothered updating at all? RIP BOZO FOR THAT
@@narri_l_official I didn't see a point to it lol, after beating the game, I didn't really pick it back up. I was going to update for HOME access, but even if I transferred my pokemon to S/V they would still be sitting there with nothing to do. Also, the DLC's for this game weren't appealing to me at all.
I had TOTK on 1.1 for the longest time until I accidentally updated, havent touched it since i lost my dupe methods 😭
Haha I’m still on 1.1 as well wondering the same thing!
@@praise1220If you have the physical cartridge like me, you can just uninstall the game, and reinstall it without updating, and that will keep it at the 1.0 version to get your duplicate methods back.
Nice! I'm gonna try with with Lugia and try and clone some Fresh-Start Mochi!
Cant figure out what im doing wrong but it feels like im not getting smeargle in the right spot but i can tell how im not in the right spot for battle
I have zekrom, which is a big pokemon, and I keep doing this exactly the way you do Blaines but its just not working, whenever i run he just despawns. Does it HAVE to be Kyurem Black?
No ive done it in a different area with lugia. Not sure whats wrong
@@BLAINES what would you say the approximate success chance is? I'm just going to keep trying and hope I get it lol
Could you catch the dupe Pokemon if it’s a Pokemon that normally spawns in that area?
Level matters too. So ifs in the same encounter area but pokemkn you have is at lv 100 this wont work.. as no pokemon can be encountered at lv 100. It would work for a mon thats at the right level at the same location
@@gritpatrick Magikarp can be encountered at lvl 100 in Kitakami
@@Linkolink_X3 ok? But theres no 100 in the savanna location.
@@gritpatrick yes, there is only in Kitakami
Level 60 shiny charizards. Got two boxed so far.
Watch how this gets patched cuz of that one dialogue scene where it's arvens face displayed but penny is talking
Got it working after clearing out pokemon sleeping under the tree. Nice video!!
I actually caught a shiny Smeargle while trying this
Edit: and a Trapinch
So don’t update your game until you have enough items thank you for this
