About Motherland:
Set in an alternate America where witches ended their persecution over 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the government to fight for their country, “Motherland: Fort Salem” follows three young women from basic training in combat magic into early deployment. In this world, the traditional roles of gender and power are flipped, with the more dominant women on the front lines fighting looming terrorist threats that are familiar to our world-but with supernatural tactics and weapons. I watched the first episode without expecting much. I was seriously expecting it to be nothing more than cringey teen drama. Seeing what Freeform has done with Siren, I should have known better. I enjoyed the 1st episode, and look forward to see more of this and to explore the alternate history of this world. If I'd have to nitpick, I'd have to say that maybe the writing feels a little bit forced, the lines are a tiny bit janky and unbelievable at times, but it is just the pilot, so I'll give it a pass, everybody knows the pilots are never a true reflection of the show as a whole

After watching 3x10, something about how Elliot says, “The rest of the whole world is not YET a matriarchal society,” really brings things full-circle, and just emphasizes how much and how long they had been devoted to planning out the ultimate fate of the world of Motherland: Fort Salem.

It's incredible what a hairstyle can do to a person. I have some difficulty seeing Taylor and Ashley in Raelle and Abigail.
That eye contact scene has to be the highlight of the episode. Its a promise of how good this show can be. Its fresh and filled with talent.

I just noticed something... At first, we got a scene with Abigail and Raelle facing each other, like an almost "opposing sides" kind of thing. Then, at the very end of the season SPOILERS...
We see Abigail and Raelle standing beside each other, symbolizing a growth in their relationship, meaning they now stand in unity. 👌
Taylor was being SO soft spoken in this, it was strange
great show, great lead actresses!

I just absolutely love the evident and thorough thought process behind this show. There are so many details that come together so beautifully and the plot truly feels like it's flowing smoothly. It doesn't seem like there are many afterthoughts thrown together to fill plot holes. In addition to the wonderful actors, the representation, and the beautiful cinematography I am truly impressed with this show and hope it will be renewed.
Looks like the west finally caught up. Japan has been making anime like this for a long time lol. Good to see a live action take on it.

Saw a shocking review that I won't give any recognition at all, I just wanted to comment hoping someone will see this because I REALLY just don't want this to be like The Magicians and end at a stupid time because the network cancels it. Please just keep this going there's not enough supernatural stuff coming out for a super fan like me :L
First episode was amazing! Hope Raelle finds strength in her unit, Abigail becomes a great leader, protect Tally at all cost, and tell Scylla to stay away from Raelle!🌬🔊🎖🔮🇺🇸

This show is not doing itself any favours with the uber lame trailers making it look like another fluffy girl power show
fuck it. nothing wrong with that if you get rid of the idea that there is something wrong with "girl power".
I grew up in the era of watching "sister sister" or "Power Puff Girls". watching Blossom or Full House. Hearing "girl power" was a noraml thing and accompanied by girls who were beautiful and assertive. So I don't understand the hate of this era as if it's some new thing.
Sure, some feminists are crazy, but it's like people are taking that and blanketing ALL things female.
Let women have their girl power movements and moments.
