@@patrickstocks3576 Not the one Ray Hilton ran over, if that's the one you mean? Ray gave them a new puppy after that, but it disappears soon after lol
Bernie Nolan had to abruptly leave the show unexpectedly. It was was not originally planned for Diane to die in the helicopter crash. They had scripts and stories lined up intended for Diane which they couldn't drop at such short notice, so Jan suddenly came in as basically a recast of Diane. With a little reworking, Jan wholesale inherited the upcoming stories originally intended for Diane.
Oh dear, here it is the death of brookside. This silly storyline. Can't believe they killed Diane off like this and then Jan just walks in! That and Katie and her 5 guys!
I genuinely think Diane got the worst exit for any soap character I've ever seen. She was a major character for two and a half years. Most of her own family barely seemed to care that a fucking helicopter dropped on her.
@@cholloway7432 literally no one grieved except her mum and she was barely in these episodes and also so unrealistic that what’s her face came back into the fold so easily… I remember Marty hiding the truth from Diane because she was such a terrible nasty person apparently then her feet go right under the table and she seems soft and nice as pie
46:17 Wow, that last weeknight edition of Brookside. This really was the beginning of the end, moving the show to the weekends. And ironically, they showed an ad for big brother. A show that contributed to Brookside’s downfall thanks to channel 4.
I'm all for girl code, but Nisha is single. The responsibility lies firmly at the door of the one with a relationship. If Nisha was male it would be seen as ok. I've not seen one comment about it when it was Max or Steve
What on earth happened to the Murray's dog? Also, having Jan stay right after Diane died is surely just down to poor writing
I agree I didnt like it when Diane got killed off and Jan returned dont like Jan. Diane was much better
Diane would have died with so much upset. Very sad for the character to end this way
Murray’s dog died in 2000

Erm no one seems to be grieving over Diane like an actual main character just fine and forgotten 😮

Pathetic how they grieved Diane
She still droning on about Clint.
She's probably still droning on about Clint in 2024.

Nisha was no good, disgusting what she did to Nikki and Gabby.
Jerome and The Doc were just as bad

Margie is just awful. Tim has done so much for Emily. She has no idea the problems that girl caused
What a horrible cow, but she always was all hard faced. Tim is Emily's next of kin and Margi hadn't been around. All mouth and guilt

Tim is a series liar to refer about his wife!
