By far the BEST version of this song imo. My god, my teenage years are long dead, but I spent many nights in tears and deep thought about what's to come while this was blaring in my headphones. I will never not love this band. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

This is astonishing. Just perfect, a wonderful song. Bryan and Dafydds voices sounds almost divine together, instruments, effects, rythms, I wouldn't change a thing even if I got paid to change things in this performance.

VERY underrated band. I’ve been listening to them since 08, even though they got some pull with the Twilight movie and Foo Fighters, I’m shocked they haven’t gotten/gained more attention from bigger sources. Unless i have been living under a rock, haha.

The way she sings all out at 1:53 makes the whole song. This is way better than the recorded version on the album. This is my favorite from them by far! Magic!

These people are SO good! Been a fan since this album. Saw them a few years ago on a US tour, they were one of the year's better live acts. This performance video is a good example, although I have to say that the camerawork & editing reminds me of a lot of film shot in the 1960s and 70s that was way cool and cosmic and fun to watch then but when watching 50 years later all you can think is "Man, I wish they'd just give me a clear shot of them PLAYING. I want to see what they're doing!"

as dark as it sounds, yes, she is calling love a lie. Her definition of love is very different from mine though haha.
This is what i found when i looked it up on song meanings and what this guydescribes it is kinda sad.
General Comment:
Fantastic song on a fantastic album.
This is just my interpretation, but I feel like the song is about a girl who is going through her years in superficial friendships without actually feeling what it is to have a real bond with another human being. These superficial friendships are filled with petty conflicts which she discusses with her friends, who also get too involved in her drama, trying to 'mediate'. These are not really much of friends, but they all act behave in a similar manner to the subject girl.
When she tries to have a meaningful relationship with a human being, she looks for someone lonely, who surely will not pass up the chance to have a friend. This backfires, as she still cannot actually share herself with the person because they aren't really friends based on anything concrete. The lonely person is just happy to have someone to call a friend, while the subject girl is not genuinely satisfied. The girl cannot make friends for the right reasons.
All throughout this song, she can't find anyone who actually cares about her, so she feels that 'nothing outside will care enough', leaving herself to care about herself.
She can't figure it out, though. She keeps trying to do the same thing, hoping it will succeed in making her actual friends. This won't ever work, though, so she tries to find love. However, even this is superficial and fake, as she hasn't figured out how to actually relate to another human being on a deep level. When she can't get things right and keeps getting left behind by guys she tries to love, she can't see why none of them see her as good enough. In reality, she needs to see herself for whom she really is and show that to people. They can't just see it.
She can't just show herself, because it makes her seem weak and exposes her to the trivial drama she believes will continue with everyone, when in reality, it shouldn't if she finds real friends. She tries to pretend she is not affected by human needs, hence the "forget you're born" part.
