  • This chemistry video tutorial explains the concept of hess' law and how to use it to find the enthalpy change of a reaction by finding the heat of summation of individual reactions. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems showing all necessary calculations. This video is for students studying thermochemistry in high school or college. There are no formulas or equations needed.

It's mind boggling how some great people can make chemistry so simple and straightforward. And meanwhile we have these ginormous textbooks and professors that use all kinds of symbols, texts calculations and more symbols from like Area 51 to explain 1st year chemistry. You can tell right away who're the good teachers and who're the bad ones.

if you're more math oriented/have taken precalc, take a close look at this (and balancing equations, and redox, and so much other shit)...it's all linear algebra/matrix algebra/systems of linear equations. If you're good with matrices or want a more rigorous way to go about solving these, you can balance anything like this using matrices, row reduction, and finding the determinant.
(figured that one out on my final by complete accident when I decided "fuck it". It worked.)

I am in general chemistry with the lecture online and the lab on site. It has been tough because the methods my teacher uses leaves me seeking other sources (such as this one) to effectively learn chemistry. It has been time consuming and difficult with the text book being so wordy and not giving the work outs for the math involved. I have found tutoring and this channel to be the absolute most helpful ways to learn. I am so grateful that these videos are here to watch and replay to learn! Thank you so much!
