  • In this video I talk about the Japanese philosophy of Ikigai and how it might help autistic people (the link to the book ''the little book of Ikigai'' by Ken Mogi, is at the bottom of this page)
I did not have enough space on my camera's memory to show my cooking journals this time, but plan to do so next week :)

Wow, that's such an interesting philosophy. You explained it so well. I'm going to read that in the next few days hopefully. Your interests differ greatly from mine, so I like hearing about new things. I also like that you continually try things to better your life, like finding informative books to read, going to visit places that take you out of your comfort zone, etc... Great video.

The absence of a special interest(s) is mysterious to me. How do people go through life with no interest, curiosity, or passion about…anything. We’ve all met people like that and I totally don’t get it. Maybe I’m missing something but, it seems like a tedious existence.
Until now, I was unfamiliar with Ikigai, but like you, feel I possess it to an extent. What you love, what the world needs, what you can be paid for, and what you’re good at, have aligned for me for the better part of my life (although the getting paid part is sometimes wiggly).
I too have been sustained by my pursuit of various interest or some would say, “obsessive pursuit”. Happy isn’t a word I would necessarily use either…satisfied, fulfilled, content, engaged, would be more accurate. Cool video.
